Small, a bit hidden place that looks like it hasn’t been updated in 40 years. Prices are about par with most small bars in the area, and the only food is frozen pizza or beef sticks/chips etc. The owners are nice people but many times drunker than the patrons. However, the owner has zero tolerance for fighting and the regulars understand they will be banned for life if they act up, so its a good thing. The other regulars consist of a variety of river folk, most OK but many very rude and unruly. Sadly, these seem mostly over served and lacking for intelligent conversation. I have met an occasional engineer or tech minded person there, but not often. The one thing that keeps me from giving a higher rating is the fact that they do not have a good nose for hiring. Most of the help seems slovenly, disinterested, and inebriated making them hard to distinguish from the patrons. It also sets the standard for the clientele, which tends to keep a different class of people out. I never go there anymore, and hope the owners realize that their bartenders do make a difference on people coming back, and the clientele that they cater to could be upgraded to make it a more pleasant experience for a more varied customer base. If you don’t mind an old, dingy atmosphere and a baser form of regulars, this is for you.
