This place was awesome. We ended up here after the place we were trying to go was closing for the night. I am glad it was or we would have missed out on an amazing meal. All of the food was made fresh with fresh ingredients. It was so good we ordered to-go orders after dinner so we could have it again on our road trip.

The pizza was decent for«vacation» pizza. But the subs were a big miss. I ordered the chicken Parmesan and I swear I had a chicken strip with a ton of bread, a squirt of sauce and a mound of cheese. Very disappointing.

While staying at Massanutten we ordered to go from here. The pasta primavera and lasagne with fried ravioli. It was solid Italian fate. We enjoyed each dish. I must say the pasta primavera was top notch. I’ll order it again next time I’m visiting. Easy to order, easy to pick up. Good food.

First off, we did not get our complimentary bread. Second, their calzone tastes like an English muffin with ketchup and their spaghetti tastes like Chef Boyardee. With these overpriced menu items, I didn’t expect to eat off plastic dinner plates, cheap cafeteria utensils, and plastic Coca Cola cups. The only item worth a damn were their appetizers: cheese bread and caprese salad.

Came here based on reviews and proximity to Massanutten Resort. Service initially was a little slow, but otherwise everything was great! Garlic bread served with the meal is hearty and not too garlicky. The calzone can be customized(if you don’t like how it’s listed on the menu) and it is well-stuffed with cheese. Portions are generous.

We went to Romano’s on a recommendation that was given to us by someone we met on a hiking trail. They hit this gem dead on! My wife had the Chicken Pesto and it was outstanding. I asked our server, Andrea, to give me the same dish she would eat. Without hesitation she ordered me the Chicken Marsala. This meal was incredible! It was very light almost on the buttery side. If you are looking for an italian restaurant that won’t break the budget I would highly recommend Romano’s and ask for Andrea.

It may not seem normal to order a chicken sub at an Italian restaurant but it is superb! Great lunch.

Very good pasta. My 5 year old and very picky eater ate every bite of her ravioli and a couple pieces of bread. The manicotti was good as well as the chicken Alfredo. Have not been too impressed with the restaurants in the area so far so this was a welcome change. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

We ordered a Medium cheese pizza for the children, a veggie Stromboli for me and a grilled chicken salad for my husband. The waitress forgot to ask what dressing he wanted on his salad and came to our table asking if Caesar was ok because the kitchen just made it that way. My husband felt bad saying no so he accepted it. The dressing was obviously from a jar(I know) but the salad was plentiful and chicken was flavorful. My Stromboli was stuffed with the freshest veggies! Great Stromboli for only $ 8.75. Big, too… we took half home. The children’s pizza was great! Wonderful crust, flavorful sauce and cheese. Pricing is odd though… online it said one price but at the restaurant, prices were very different. We paid $ 7.80 ish for the pizza and online it said more than $ 10. Not complaining though! We left a nice tip :)

It’s a lovely Italian restaurant, with somewhat average food, good service, large portions, and low prices. Most of the orders come with a basket of bread which is quite lovely. I’ve tried the gnocchi and chicken parm, and both were average for the type of establishment. Both dishes were under $ 10 though, so it’s really hard to complain. They even hand grated some parmesan cheese over my meals. At the end of the meal, I received a chocolate covered mint. This is definitely a restaurant I will frequent when I’m in the area.

Getting take out so won’t know how the food is until later. The place is almost full and everyone looks happy with their meals. There are few children who seem to enjoy the food too. People taking leftovers home which is good sign. The staff is all smiling so they must like it here too. Don’t worry about the décor it’s fine for what this place is.

What a great treat to find a cute little locally owned Italian place. The décor is very old world style and the staff is very friendly, which I found to be quite rare in this part of Virginia. We found the restaurant through Unilocal because we went to Massanutten Resort for the weekend and this place is quite close to the resort which would be nice to have for a longer stay! We ordered a pizza to share and it was bigger than expected. The sauce of the pizza was surprisingly good considering we were in western Va but it tasted to me like pizza I used to get from an Italian neighborhood in Pittsburgh. If we go back to the resort we will definitely return to Romanos! Salut!

Take out order while staying in Massanutten last week. Standard, nothing special. I had a medium pepp-mushroom pie, meat calzone no ham and small house salad. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great. I’d skip the calzone and the complimentary garlic bread had a freezer taste. The topping distribution was curious as all the mushrooms were towards the center of the pie and there were a few pepperonis per slice… smh. The house italian dressing was great though! I’d say the salad was the best part. If this was in a city, this would be a two. For a takeout option in the middle of nowhere where you can add seasoning and reheat your sad-ish pizza to have a slight crisp in your own oven? I’ll give it three stars.

Excellent homeade Italian food. My wife and I ate their twice during our vacation in Massanutten. Lasagna, spicy pasta, and shrimp scampi were great. Motzerella sticks were fantastic. Not much to choose from in area but we were very pleased!

Romano’s pleasantly surprised us with the quality of food and service. You get authentic Italian food prepared with care at very reasonable prices. We started with fried calamari that were tender with just the right amount of breading. A deal at $ 6.75. Then we ordered Veal Parmigiana and Veal al Limone Piccata(~$ 15 ea.). The portions were large, the veal pounded thin and tender, and the sauces were excellent. We asked for the side pastas«very al dente» and they came out with a great bite. The service was terrific. Glasses always refilled without wait or asking, all questions answered, and a pleasant attitude. All in all, if you are in the area it is well worth a stop.
