This is not the best place … Bad customer service at front desk. Rooms are old and dated showers need to be re-tiled they are gross to step on. Parking is the worst! No designated parking for guest so good luck finding parking since they host lots of events and the bar is a popular hangout for locals. When I checked in I asked about parking because it was full front desk suggested I park at the hospital next door. Which is far away to be dragging luggage. They do have a «3» story parking garage but no direct access to hotel. So you have to drag all your stuff around outside and it’s always full. Furthermore, there is no decent outdoor space. Breakfast is not free and is no better than the free breakfast of the Staybridge which is free.

Happily surprised. Found a great deal on Expedia last minute. Very comfortable rooms and bed. The bathroom was a bit odd as it looked like they either framed out to put in shower doors, or didn’t take out shower framing from remodel. Shower curtain was on two hooks to make it longer. It looked like a «fix» that had not been well-thought out. It looks bad and I can’t even imagine a cheap apartment using that as the solution! Staff was nice and helpful at check-in. Plenty of parking. Would stay there again.

Nicely renovated hotel. Was the embassy suites, but now is a doubletree. Got a warm cookie at check in. Reasonable prices. Bar downstairs with $ 4 happy hour wine, pool, hot tub, gym, parking lot, and Starbucks coffee. Updated to be modern.

This used to be an Embassy Suites but has now changed to a DoubleTree Suites. I had requested the business be edited, and I see instead, Unilocal has decided to create a new business page. This is still a Hilton chain hotel though(same as Embassy Suites). According to the gal who checked me in, a name change occurs every twenty years at Hilton properties, but ownership remains the same. I only will stay here again for work and the fact it’s the only Hilton property in town that gets me 1,000 bonus points as a diamond member. If you are traveling for leisure, this hotel’s not worth the price! Pros: –Free Parking(as do most hotels in the area) –Suite with a sofabed and desk area for working –Air conditioning in the living room and WiFi work well –Room had a fridge with a small freezer portion and microwave Cons: –Rooms face into an open atrium, so noise on the first floor echoes to the top floor –No luggage rack in the room –No ottoman/coffee table in front of the sofa like ALL other Embassy Suites I have stayed –Carpet/curtains are old. Furniture is chipped. –No executive lounge for diamond members. –TV system is being worked on, so the guide isn’t working, but the hotel should at least have a sheet of paper with the channels(need to call the front desk to ask for the channels). –Assigned someone else my room 4.5hrs after I checked in, so I was surprised when I heard the key slot churning(good thing l deadbolted everything!) –Won’t buy name brand water. I have no problems personally drinking store brand water(in this case, HEB), but when I’m paying $ 160.55 for the room, l expect brand name water. Even Home2Suites, which are the lowest on the Hilton totem pole, can afford name brand water(like Ozarka). Maybe I am snotty, but this is the FIRST in the 3 years of traveling about 75% of my life that this has happened. –Amount of water and pressure from the shower is so low that it reminds me of staying at a family friend’s house in a village on the island of Crete –Air conditioning in the bedroom does not work well. There’s at least a ten degree difference between the living room and bedroom. –No chocolate chip cookie offered at check in, which is a standard operating procedure for DoubleTree hotels. –There is no sign that says, «Please seat yourself» or host/hostess to seat you for breakfast. Four different waiters or waitresses can look right at your while you stand at the podium for 5 minutes and walk away, ignoring you. Room Rate on a Wed Night: $ 160.55 RM — STATETAX: $ 9.63 RM — CITYTAX: $ 14.45 TOTAL $ 184.63
