Maxime Coupe Hair Salon

I had a voucher for a basic facial, and I went in today to redeem this. It was a wonderful experience, and I am so thankful to my facialist for taking the time to do such a great job. My skin looks and feels amazing, and I felt very comfortable and relaxed the entire time. I wish I could remember my facialist’s name, but if you’re reading this, thank you!

I really wasn’t very pleased with my experience at this salon. I bought a living social deal that included color, haircut and style. I knew exactly what I wanted and brought a picture of it with me. I was told that the highlights I wanted would be an extra $ 150 on TOP of the deal I had already purchased from living social. Four hours later (the first hour was spent waiting even though the salon wasn’t busy and I had an appointment) the color was wrong, and my hair was just trimmed instead of 6 inches shorter like the photo showed. I tried to point this out but I was told that my hair was «difficult» and that I should have opted for a base color instead of the highlights. Could they have not told me this BEFORE I forked over the extra money?! By this time I was so sick and tired of being there that I just paid and left. I will say that they did style it very nicely but I’d never recommend this place to anyone. I miss my small hometown salon! Better prices, better skill and nicer people.

I’m sorry, but this is not what you are looking for if you are under 50 and looking for a fashion-​forward look. Booked blow-​outs for my teenagers. I added a trim, and then the «blow-​out» part was odd — they ended up with a curly look, not straight at all. One wanted a side bang, and the stylist didn’t even know how to do that. Strange experience with a salon that didn’t know basic terminology.

I had a great experience here! Their prices are fair, and the women in the salon gave me a *lot* of attention — above and beyond anything I’ve experienced before. Everyone from the lady who shampooed my hair, to the lady sitting at the front desk, to the stylist standing at the next chair took a caring interest in my hair health.
I just got a simple cut, and even with all the extra attention, they only charged me with what I’d asked for. Further, they presented me with their products without twisting my arm to buy any (so I didn’t, but I’ll think about it and probably come back). It gave the impression that they genuinely wanted me to have healthier, better-​looking hair, which I appreciate :)
The place appeared busy, with lots of satisfied customers. I’d highly suggest it. I’m about to move to Silver Spring, and I’ll probably make the 30-​min drive back here just so they can do my hair!
