From the outside it looks like it’ll be a quaint small town restaurant with lots of charm. But it’s not. It’s a run down restaurant where the waitress chain smokes in between taking your order and bringing you your food. The entire place reeks of cigarette smoke. Unfortunately the food didn’t make up for the bad atmosphere. It wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t good either.

Forget it! We were the only paying lunch customers at noon on Saturday, 10⁄19. Employees and their families were smoking in the back booths. The unisex restroom is atrocious. My wife ordered one of the 3 soups on the menu only to be told there were no soups. My sandwich order arrived as a salad plate! I think we were overcharged but I’m not sure because I was just told a number, nothing in writing. I just wanted to get out of there!

Right out of a Southern novel — plastic covered menu, your basic breakfast fare, heavy on meat, grits and eggs. Cheese omelet made with gourmet Kraft American was pretty good, hash browns crunchy, excellent coffee with plenty of refills. The walls are covered with candid photos of locals. It was clean, quaint and very friendly. We forgot that smoking still reigns in all public places, but there were lots of ceiling fans to distribute the aroma. Now bad at all for $ 13. Open all day you can get breakfast anytime. For local color and culture, this is the place.
