Really neat restaurant right on the river and sure enough, two trains shook the place and provided a «rocking» dinner experience. Food was pretty good, despite not being cooked to specifications with one of our meals. Still a neat experience.

This was a very good visit during our visit to Maysville, KY. The only reason this place didn’t receive 5 stars was their service. Our drinks and food took a while to come out even for refills. The food was great and the view of the river was very nice and exquisite. I had the lamb chops, Brussel sprouts and bacon wrapped asparagus. Good flavor.

Had a very disappointing experience tonight. Service was good, no complaints there at all. The issue was the simple quality of the food. My wife and I both ordered their namesake steak dishes. Which are in the high 20 $ range. My steak appeared to be the entirely wrong cut and was dramatically different than hers. It was full of fat and gristle. Her steak was over cooked and had to be sent back. For that matter every steak at the table had to be sent back at least once if not twice. We asked to speak to a manager who didn’t show up, instead sent the waitress to say she was sorry. I want expecting any compensation but would have at least been nice to give my opinion to the person in charge.

Excellent food, beautiful setting right on the Ohio River. I was visiting there a week ago and we had wonderful food, excellent service and a really wonderful time. It’s a Kentucky favorite!

We had the most delightful experience here last night! The food was great and the view is wonderful. Although there were lots of people dining, the restaurant was quiet and had an excellent atmosphere. I had the rib eye, others in our party had fish and spaghetti/meatballs. I thought the prices were quite reasonable for the experience as a whole. Great salad served family style… Overall terrific. We cannot wait to go back!

Caproni’s is a special gem and we eat there about four times a year when we visit family in the area. The dining room and front windowed room are both lovely and charming. The menu has lots of choices and great prices.(is a previous reviewer REALLY calling a $ 6.95 lunch buffet«pricey»???) Go there and enjoy a one of a kind meal and setting! Food is tasty and fine every time. Not a culinary masterpiece, true, but fine. We love it for the setting, the kind wait staff, and the historic, warm atmosphere.

The worst service I have received in any consumer experience in my life. Out waiter was ill-informed, informed our party that salads were included with entrees and turned around and charged us $ 28.00 for salads. We asked to see the manager who told us that the server has been with them 4 years, didn’t make mistakes and«could do nothing to help us with the mistake». The manager then slammed our credit card bill on the table and stormed off. Needless to say, we won’t be back. Ruined what should have been a lovely evening.

The food is overpriced for the quality delivered. I’ve heard it was a great restaurant in its prime, but I’ve only experienced slow service and tasteless food. You can get the same food with better value and less wait time for money at Applebee’s.

Excellent location by the river. Had the KY Hot Brown for lunch. Very good and only $ 6.00. I’ll be back. The service was a little slow, even though the restaurant was largely empty.

So apparently, this is the more pricey and upscale restaurant in this little town in the middle of KY. We went there for the lunch buffet($ 6.95!!!). The restaurant is nestled on the waterfront and has amtrak tracks running in front of its windows that have a great view of the local river. wonder how it feels when the train passes by??? Anyway great location, can’t really beat the view. The buffet on the other hand was not impressive… the plates we questionable in cleanliness so i picked one that didn’t seem to have debris on it, then on to the food choices… a soup a few regular salad choices, spaghetti and shredded pork with corn, beans and that’s about it… Food was alright, but didn’t wow me and didn’t really tell me anything about the quality of food this place carries… I’ll give it 3 stars for the view and the reputation. otherwise can’t claim the food impressed me.
