Driving through south jersey, I drove back Sugar Hull Sub and Deli a few times, with their signature sign catching my eye. I decided to stop and get a few sandwhiches for myself and others, and was pleasantly surprised. First off, I appreciate that they serve any of their sandwhiches in a tin for those who are looking to cut carbs, or practice a ketogenic way of eating. Their cheese steak was great, even without out the roll. They do offer 3 types of bread for those who want a classic sandwhich, however, when they ask for the size, just know the«whole» is a lot bigger than than the«Footlong» you may see at some of the other chains, so you may want to order the half.

Pretty awesome sub place if I say so myself. I definitely think they’re underrated and deserve a little more recognition. I’ve lived in Mays Landing for quite an amount of years and have always heard of this Sugar Hill at a young age. My parents weren’t too keen on eating out(which you can tell made me become such an avid eater later on in life) which resulted to me trying this place out once I got into college. I haven’t made a review for this place then since I wasn’t a Unilocaler at the time, but here’s the review now! The place is family owned and is on a semi empty road. Subs are delicious and HUGE! My absolute favorite has got to be their Supala oh la la(Sorry if spelling is wrong…) it’s a spicy and tangy cheesesteak basically. You HAVE to try it… just make sure you’re ready for some spice factor. It was a lot spicier than I had anticipated. The place isn’t huge. It’s large enough to hold maybe 10 people at max, but it’s more of a grab and go type establishment. They do however have minimal seating indoors(maybe enough for 8 people at once?) and 2 picnic benches outside their store(make sure it’s a nice day). Parking isn’t too plentiful so I’d suggest carpooling if you’re going in a large group. Take my word when I say it’s probably one of the best sub shops in the area(besides Wawa). Also word of caution, but be prepared for a huge mess while eating these subs, they stack it on pretty heavily.

This place is a total ripoff I drove over 10 miles to pick them up I ordered 6 Whole subs paid with tax $ 103.00 with extras on them. when I got back with them not one of the subs had any of the stuff I ordered on them which you of courses pay extra for which I don’t mind but they didn’t even put the extras on any of them. I called them the nasty person asked if we ate them and had nothing to say about ripping us off with the extras. The paper they wrapped them in was soaked wet sticking to the sandwich the chicken cheesesteak look like it was put in a blender it was mince meat it was so gross that my two Pitbulls wouldn’t even eat them. I feed my dogs top on the line food and them not eating them doesn’t say much for this dive. Coming from New York City and knowing what good heroes are you have a better chance of ordering a Wawa Subs because this place totally SUCKS! And the they don’t give you what you paid for they are a RIPOFF! When two PITBULLS turn their noses up to their Subs you know it Sucks! This place has the wrong name it should be Called SHITHILL!!!

Haven’t been here in awhile! Cheesesteak was outstanding! Better than the last time I was there, a few years ago…

Since moving to Arizona, this has become a must when I’m visiting family. The Italian hoagie is the best I’ve ever had and the cheesesteaks are above and beyond amazing.

Best hoagies around, without question. Only negative is we’re in the year 2015, and it’s still cash-only.

Amazing as always. I pretty much stick to the same thing, the italian sub, but it is always amazing. A hard roll, great meat, and awesome provolone make this sandwich my favorite. Yum!

The cheesesteak hoagies are delicious. Been here many of times. Cash only but they have an ATM inside if you don’t mind the service charge. Would give a five stars if they worked on their customer service. Very frustrating ordering over the phone. The lady didn’t seem like she was understanding what I was saying and messed up my order. so check your order before you leave. When I got home, they messed up my order again even though I thought they corrected it. Ugh. Like I said – Check your order

Sugar Hill has the best cheesesteaks and Italian subs in the Mays Landing area. The shop is clean, and the staff is always welcoming and friendly. It’s a great local business that I am glad is still doing well here in Mays Landing.

Traveling so much, I get to see many deli’s. The attitude of the staff and the customers is something else. Can’t understand how you could be mad at everyone when it’s a nice day and your business is busy. Sad. Breakdown: Bread — looks good, bland taste and hard to chew Meats — down right awful. Very poor quality Toppings — can’t get all toppings in one bite, due to their placement Service — zero Overall, I wish I could give no stars

Rude. Don’t accept plastic. Food is OK. Won’t be going back even though it’s the closest sub shop to my house.

Awesome subs. You have to stop there on your way to the shore. The best bread for great sandwich.

This is pretty awesome! I didn’t realize the subs were so enormous, so I ordered 2 for about $ 18. This is fine for their size, as one can easily be shared by two people. I ordered a hot chicken cheesesteak, but I think they forgot the cheese. It was still tasty, and expectedly soggy after a half hour drive home. The second sandwich was a turkey and cheese with mayo and such, and it was good! Definitely a nice stop for subs, but I wouldn’t say it was mind blowing. Also, it is CASHONLY which is inconvenient.

«It’s not the best thing in the world» I’m not even going to wait until i get home! NOT A FAN! Allow me to explain the 3 stars… The staff is nice but seriously rough around the edges. The food blah. The 3rd star is because my husband liked his hoagie. I ordered the chicken breast on a round roll with cheddar… I got this huge roll with over done and flavorless chicken. 4 slices of tomatoes and i swear it seemed like a half head of lettuce. Just no. It was edible, but it hurt trying not to waste the money. My husband got a cordon bleu hoagie. He said it was good but dry. We ordered a grilled cheese for my toddler. So far from home. Thought hey easy peasy UMMM… right…2 slices of bread. About 4 or 5 pieces of cheese… the butter made this. As with my sandwich… WHYISTHECHEESESOGROSS??? So please… go here, just order something else.

Tried this place again. Mistake. Ordered the pulled pork. Same garbage you can buy at the grocery store in that white tub of lard. This was my last time giving them my money.

Hoagies are middle of the road. Customer service is terrible. First, they only take cash. So if you don’t have it you can pay $ 2.50 to use their ATM. My order was over $ 200 and they acted like I was being unreasonable about using credit. And then they told me I could not carry my order out. After the old guy in the back told a worker to quit talking and just work.- I have had enough. First and last time I will ever visit.

This is the best place for a sub in NJ and I believe the tri state area. The owner is such a nice person and you can tell that by her workers /the quality of the subs. I highly recommend anyone headed to any of the shore towns to stop by this Mays Landing staple and take subs for the beach. Order two you won’t be disappointed.

The only thing I ordered from this place was their famous cheesesteak, which is decent. I love their bread, which is the bread from Formica bakery! But steak gets very greasy and unappetizing when you unveil the packaging. Although it had a lot of grease on the bread, the meat is still very dry. The pick-up line is long, even if you had ordered beforehand, but the price is decent for a whole hoagie of cheesesteak. There was a good number of people waiting for their orders, so it must be good but not for me. I would like to go back and try their regular cold cut hoagies. But being that it is in a remote location and inconvenient to get to, I don’t think I’ll be heading back to do a second try.
