Too expensive and only dwarf trees? No thanks. The apples at the grocery store were just as fresh and a lot cheaper. I prefer apple picking upstate where the prices are normal.

One of the true icons of modern day Long Island. Ed Harbes along with his wife Monica and their large brood have developed their roadside farmstand into a juggernaut of fresh vegetables, sweet corn(which he almost singlehandedly made famous in these parts), country hands-on entertainment, and, now, from what I understand, a vineyard. I speak in the past tense because I used to be the Harbes neighbor and saw their dreams flourish it would seem just months after they were conceived. The vineyard was just springing to life when I moved, but as aware as I am of Ed’s meticulous attention to detail as well as his deep understanding of the North Fork terroir, I would be surprised if it were anything short of a great success. The Harbes family is a North Fork original and an incredible American success story. It seems almost trivial to judge them on whether their tomatoes cost more than the farmstand down the road(not that I’ve noticed anyone doing this, just hypothetically). Every time you patronize their farmstand or vineyard you contribute to a way of life that is borne from mid-20th century American values — the values so many of us fear are vanishing within our lifetime. Ever wonder what the far opposite side of their property looks like? Take a couple of looks at the extremes it can bring.

I came apple picking with my friends here and we had a lovely time. The apple orchard had very limited amounts of apples but that didn’t stop us from having a good time. Harbes is a very family oriented environment which was exactly what we were looking for.

My girlfriend and I were here and loved it! We were a little sad we came so late cause we missed out on the apple cider donuts, but we’ll absolutely be back again. The service was great!!! The girls working today were very attentive and knowledgeable which made our experience here even better. If there is one place you must check out its this place. Especially since we found out they have apple and pumpkin picking(when in season). Can’t wait to check this place out again!!!

Such a fun time! Can’t wait to have kids and bring them here! The cider donuts and hot cider were amazing, the roasted corn was okay at best. Good friendly service! We picked up a few pumpkins and gourds and they looked great. Wish we lived closer to shop their fresh produce more often.

Oh my God! Long drive was so not worth the longer waits for everything!!! The bathroom, 25 minutes. The tickets to go on any rides, or let the kids play in any maze? 35 minutes. The food? You wait on one line with one register for 45 minutes to order a friggin hot dog, to wait on a second line for 15 more minutes to actually pick it up!!! And they have a SEPARATE two-line system for the fries!!! Have they not realized that it’s 2015??? Ummmm, can you say expedite??? I’ve been here since 12:30 and haven’t done a thing but spend money and pee!!! This is NOTWORTHIT!

I honestly can say it’s not the best farm in Long Island! I am not sure if we chose the wrong day to go(a day before columbus day) but the traffic just to get to the farm waa HORRIBLE. We arrived at the farm close to 3 pm we took pictures bought some pumpkins(another 10 to 15 minutes just to buy a pumpkin) Then we decided to get more food these people were out of buns and another long line! THEWAITISINSANE! You guys need another register and more staff. Then we headed to the barn yard $ 12.50 for each person and the worst part was that the staff don’t even check you to see if you have a bracelet. I shouldve never paid! Even though it wasn’t a great farm I did like seeing the different kind of pumpkins ex: white pumpkins. I give this farm a 2 star

Here’s a one-stop shop for all of your family farm festivities, that is, as long as you’re prepared for committing to very long lines– and I mean up to an hour wait. During the weekends and busy season/holidays, the farm is packed. If you have the chance to visit another time, you’ll find it much more enjoyable. Some of the highlights: craft beer and wine tastings, apple cider everything(drink, donuts, etc), farm fresh veggies, roasted corn, baked potato bar, thick-cut French fries, and my personal favorite– the best soft serve ice cream(custard style) I have ever tasted. Vanilla is always available along with a season special such as corn or pumpkin pie, which taste surprisingly like their namesakes without tasting overly sweet or artificial. The custard is so thick that it takes some force to spoon it from the cup. There are also fun activities such as hay rides, pumpkin picking, and corn mazes. Although busy, the farm is large enough that there is no uncomfortable crowding, plenty of seating, and grass on which to sprawl about.

Terrible apple orchard — corporate feel, more security than children, overpriced, not a fun fall feel. Trees are tiny and over manicured. Go anywhere but here In an area filled with other fun orchards. $ 8 for 8 apples is severely overpriced.

This farm is nice to visit with family. The people working are very friendly, too. We all loved riding on small hay ride to go to apple picking area. Apples trees were very healthy, and beautiful. The corn maze was amazing, there are a few dressed up people, kids can fight with toy sword, or learn how to bow. So Apple picking experience was great over all. However their apple cider donuts size were pretty small for the price. it was sad looking. And they charge you pretty high price to enjoy all attractions. Apple picking/Hayrides/corn maze combo costed more than 70 for me, my husband, and two small kids. That was a big ouch. I mean we experienced pretty good couple hours spending there but it was too pricy for us. Can not afford us going back. So i give three stars.

How do they charge people for bags to go apple picking, and they don’t have any apples to pick??? I have been coming here for years. The staff is always friendly, and the scenery is beautiful. My review would have been a five star. Because of my experience with not being able to pick any ripe apples, I am exasperated. Also, for $ 16 for two bags, I wanted each bag to be able to fit a dozen apples at least. No apple pie for us. It’s a shame we had to go to Trader Joes that evening.

Great farm with a ton to do. Tried the roasted corn, apple doughnuts and cold cider– all delicious. The lines went quick and we were served right away even though it was very busy. Lots to do for kids. We went in the corn maze and it was a lot of fun.

Low Key done right. I’m already making plans to return next month. I had a very pleasant time. It was positive, informative and delicious. I really liked our attendant. She was knowledgable, warm, welcoming and personable, great at explaining things without being condescending and answered questions patiently. She suggested a Camembert to snack on with some of our selections — which we enjoyed very much. Really liked the Blanc de Blancs… delicious! I visited two other vineyards on the same day who weren’t welcoming and have no interest to revisit.

Great time! We went on a nice Tuesday afternoon. We bought the $ 1 bags of food to feed the animals and we preferred that than $.25 machines. It was great. The goats are funny but try to feed them equally, they get jealous. There’s a lot to do for sure. We didn’t try the food but we will next time. It seemed a little too hot for the animals though. We kind of felt bad. More shade and water should be provided.

Bathrooms are GROSS! Over flown, backed up, I was shocked. Cute outside area, perfect for a family day. Music, activities for kids. Don’t go home without the apple cider donuts and corn!

Fun, family-friendly place with lots of kid activities, great food, live music, a little farmer’s market and wine tastings. Strawberry lemonade and corn on the cob were perfect on a hot summer day. It would get 5 stars if the wine tasting room had stronger air conditioning and smelled a little less barn-like.

We stopped by this place on our way to visit lavender by the bay. We were attracted by the approach when we approached, the bright colors, and display of veggies and fruits drove us exciting. We took a test, I also ordered the wine tasting menu, 3 for 10, I loved the ice wine made by them, so I bought a bottle and brought home. We decided to stay for lunch, ordered the black pepper sausage sandwich, the guy who was making sausage for us was very focused, and it turned out to be really delicious. $ 7 ish for a hot dog like sandwich may sound a bit expensive, but it was filling. The farm is very beautiful, they sell fresh productions, also provides home made donuts, pop corns, different kind of sweets and cakes, you may have samples to try before you make a purchase. This place was so beautiful on a sunny day, we hope it was really by the bay, however, there is a distance, however, I will definitely will come back and stop by again.

This is a lovely family friendly spot to have a wine tasting, beer and bite to eat. There is produce for sale as well. There are lots of fun things for kids to do — drive around a track on a pedal powered tractor/car/tricycle, bunnies, chickens, goats and ducks to look at, as well as a secret garden and cute games for kids to play. If I weren’t stuffed already, I would have tried the wine but since I was stuffed and on way to lunch, I had only the apple cider donuts — yum! I would highly recommend a visit and to come hungry as I’d like to try their corn and wine.

Loved this farm! My husband and I brought our 3 year old here. This was my first time apple picking and I had a blast. We were only able to pick from the Ultimate Gala’s and the Honey Crisps. I think every week they choose two different sections of apples instead of allowing people to roam the entire field which I think makes a lot of sense. There’s a lot going on but everything is organized. The pony ride was $ 5. They let us take pictures of her on the pony before and after the ride. I was a little disappointed that there weren’t that many farm animals out. They had a coup with 2 chickens and 2 baby goats, thats it. They had face painting and candle making for the kids. They also had a corn maze. My favorite part was the live entertainment. There was a man singing and playing his guitar out in the open. No stage needed. They serve a small variety of food and beverages including wine. The apple cider donuts just melt in your mouth. You can’t eat just one. Make sure you ask for freshly made donuts.

Harbes is fun for the whole family!!! From pumpkin picking to wine tasting Harbes has it all. We started out in the wine barn where we enjoyed the red blend and steel fermented Chardonnay two great wines under $ 25! Next we headed across the street to the pumpkin patch which was really fun, there were a lot of families out also enjoying the day. Definitely wear some shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. There are also pumpkins for sale by the food stand if you don’t want to pick your own. For lunch we had the picnic for 2 and some apple cider donuts which were so good! The corn and lemonade were great as well. Harbes is a bit of a drive from Westcheter, but definitely worth the trip!!!
