i love the California rolls and eel rolls, i don’t eat raw fish so i stuck to those rolls every time i get sushi. I love the rolls, so good! The quality is better than other places I’ve been to. Spicy mayo definitely makes the rolls even better. The workers are courteous and nice. I would totally come back! Love this place!

They make some great food. I love this place, if I’m ever in the mood for Sushi this is the place I go to. It’s so reliable, in all the times I’ve been here not once have their food disappointed me.

Simple, fast, delicious, and affordable. What more could you want? This authentic Japanese food is served by an always reliable staff. Although on the smaller side, this restaurant has a comforting feel to it, always decorated and welcoming. I’ve been here about 10 times with my family, so it’s safe to say we all have in mind what we want before we even walk through the door. That being said, it’s always a pleasure to try out new foods from the menu, and nothing has let me down so far!

Came here on Christmas night with the fam and the food is fresh and superb! Price is decent. The rolls are definitely bigger and better than Tomo’s in Elmhurst. I highly recommend their grilled squid for appetizer and they’re more than happy to customize your roll/​hand roll. My brother requested for eel and kani hand roll and the portion is beyond generous! And ofcourse, don’t forget about the price. Even though it was $ 5 per hand roll, it was definitely worth it! My new go to spot when I’m craving Japanese food!
Minus one star since they did not serve us complimentary hot saki. On our way out we picked up a menu and on the back of the menu it clearly states «free hot saki with a purchase of $ 25 or more, dine in only» Well, our bill was over $ 150 and I was disappointed that the waitress didnt mention this promotion!

Sushi was pretty good. Price was alright. But reason why I’m giving it a 3 stars is because of their poor service. My girlfriend and I waited for a tea refill for about 15 minutes. I’m not sure if they went on break or something. We were ready to pay for about 25 min. Their lucky we’re nice people because most people would have just left. I walked to the counter to pay. The service was terrible. On top of that. Do not order the fried cheesecake (cheesecake tempura). The cheese cake is legit frozen solid. Would i recommend? Maybe lunch time but I don’t recommend going anytime during dinner because they don’t really tend to you.

Excellent food. Started with the Yakitori chicken as appetizer– delicious. Ordered the surf and turf for 2 with Sapporo beer and Sake. Our party also ordered the Hibachi steak — awesome! Highly recommended. You will not be disappointed– excellent, friendly attention by the staff.

Sakura has great prices on their tasty lunch specials. Gotta love the free hot sake as a bonus with your dinner (unlimited, but be sure to designate a driver!). My favorite go-​to meal is their stir-​fried buckwheat noodles with veggies– the shiitake mushrooms are fresh and flavorful. Another yummy dish is their Sakura fried rice (house special!) — lovely presentation, and once you try it, you may be hooked. It gets a bit busy on Friday and Saturday evenings, but aside from Valentine’s Day, I’ve never had to wait for a table. Be sure to enjoy some of the delicious and nutritious hot tea (also gratis– yes, please!).

Amazing food! The sushi always tastes so fresh and delicious. The service is quick and friendly and prices are extremely reasonable!
The hot dishes are amazing as well. The steak teriyaki comes sizzling on the plate and tastes glorious. The stir fry is beyond words as well as there Sakura fried rice (house specialty).
There appetizers are great as well, the vegetable dumplings are a bit small but the taste is superb. There has not been anything that I have ordered that I was dissatisfied with.
With my sweet tooth I obviously had to check out their desserts. I have only tried the green tea mochi ice cream, I can’t seem to order any other deserts since I might be addicted to that one. However I am inclined to try the tempura ice cream and the fried banana.
Overall this place is great! It’s small and located in Maspeth but it’s defiantly worth trying. I think that because it’s small it’s makes the whole experience even better.

Although probably better for takeout than for dining in like I did, this place deemed itself worthy of my business! I highly suggest you take advantage of their lunch specials (ordering before 3:30) because they have the same options for dinner at a decent discounted price.
What I have here is the Teriyaki Shrimp lunch box for $ 8.50

If you love great quality delicious sushi and Japanese food you NEED to come here. Every roll I had tasted so fresh and delicious, the teriyaki chicken came sizzling on a pan and was amazing and my uncle had fried sea food noodles which were INSANELY GOOD. Service was great, everyone smiled and was very friendly. Thank God this place is near my house because its my new favorite sushi spot in Maspeth.

I love sakura! This place has quality sushi at a poor mans price, it’s amazing. My boyfriend and I frequent Sakura weekly to biweekly and they even know us and make us feel at home. I’ve eaten sushi at many places and in many states and countries and this place has got to be in the top 5. My favorite rolls are the Hanada and the Bahana!

I was here with a friend a few weeks ago. I ordered the 3 roll combo special — I got white tuna, yellowtail and Portobello roll. PORTOBELLO ROLL! OMG. I have never found this roll in any other Sakura !! It was delicious!!! The service was great, our waitress was really sweet. I would definitely go back there when I’m in the area again!

Very nice local Sushi place. We order in from here frequently and have never been disappointed. The Sushi is always fresh.

This post is mainly for pick up/​delivery & lunch box. The first time I order from here was pick up. I got the chicken katsu lunch box. It cost 8.25 $ but w tax is 9 $. To start w the chicken katsu itself is actually really good. The katsu had flavor and it is quite crispy. The miso soup that came w it taste like seafood miso soup but I like it. The salad I wish they can pack the salad sauce individually bc the sauce ain’t enough. The shumei is delicious. The California roll the roll itself is big. For delivery, it is actually really fast despite it was raining. It took them like 15 – 25 mins to get here which is a plus. Overall, I do recommend to come here to get the lunch box. I will try their sushi one day and update the review if I have a chance.

Another great place for sushi and sashimi on grand ave. Food is always fresh. Sometimes we order delivery, fast and still fresh. But sushi n sashimi taste so much better when you dine in. Nice décor.

Whether you get hot food or sushi, you can’t go wrong. Everything I’ve ever tried there has been delicious, from the appetizers to the desserts. Bobo is also a great waiter and funny as hell. It’s my go-​to spot after community meetings.
