Continental Pastry

I walk by this place every morning at 8:00 am, but it’s not yet opened. Thought it was a wholesale bakery only, until I started looking at the Unilocal reviews and their website. They open at 9:00 am Wed — Sat. The storefront is really small and even driving by you would never realize it is a retail bakery. I decided to stop in today and try their pretzels and cretzel which I read good things about… and I am glad I did!!! The cretzel (croissant/​pretzel) is AMAZING!!! Absolutely delicious — it’s flaky and buttery like a croissant and salty and tastes like a pretzel. It was so fresh, and I could tell all of their baked good were freshly made as well. I will definitely try their cakes and danishes next time.

Can’t believe I didn’t know about this bakery earlier! What a gem, delicious German style pastries and great service. The cheese danish is really good and the raspberry pretzel is delicious too. As a cool side note, this bakery is actually kosher. Don’t let the lack of reviews fool you, this bakery is actually a hidden gem

You haven’t lived until you’ve tried Continental Pastry’s chocolate mousse cake. Any other cakes, pies and treats pale in comparison to the goodies that this place has. I highly suggest taking a trip here and indulging. You’ll encounter the best service you could imagine, and excellent prices as well.

I love Dean and the team at Continental Pastry on Grand Ave. The small shop fills every available space with danish, croissant, cakes, pies, and more. The pretzels are the superstar item here– they are not to be passed up. Think big, soft, salty pretzels from a baseball game or a vendor at Central Park– but improve the quality by about a thousand percent. And the prices cannot, cannot be beat. I have walked out of here with a box of goodies to share, all for under ten dollars. The staff is friendly and gives you the quickest service I have ever seen. Next time you’re near Maspeth, stop in!

This family has been in the business for some time. You’ll find a great selection of fresh cakes based on solid European recipes. This pastry establishment is capable of satisfying your sweet tooth as well as your festive catering needs. Awesome marzipan.
