This is only my second time here and it seems only in the summer with my friends. Its right around the corner from kings island and very reasonable. I had a two combo platter for around $ 8.50 and you can get everything covered in queso! That white cheese makes everything better! The atmosphere was kind of quiet because they werent busy but my friends had steak tacos and my other friend had an acapulco cheesesteak that looked yummy! I would recommend this place after the park when you need to recharge.

This restaurant definitely gives that good Mexican restaurant feel. The food comes very quickly, and hot. You can tell that the chips and salsa are made fresh every day. Definitely a great value for your money. The wait staff was very attentive to our needs. If you’re looking for a good Mexican food, this is probably the best place to get it.

No complaints, classic Tex-Mex, fresh salsa, cold Mexican beer, clean, friendly service. Shredded chicken was too chunky, would have better totally shredded, still moist and flavorful. Service was fast, food out quickly at 9pm, open till 10pm this Monday. I’ll be back for sure, 6 days working in area and only fast food near by, very reasonable.

Good food, average service. Surprised at how slow things were when the restaurant wasn’t very busy. Had steak fajitas which were amazing but only came with three shells and was charged for extra ones. Apparently this is the norm though? It’s close to where we live but I’ll probably try another location next time.

lunch during a meeting near Great Wolf Lodge. Seated immediately, friendly staff, quick service. Crisp, warm tortillas, served with fresh salsa and a sweet mayo special sauce(a little too sweet for me). Shrimp fajitas were SO delicious! Plump shrimp was perfectly cooked– not rubbery! Great color of peppers, onions, tomatoes. Nice pico de gallo, but guacamole was not creamy, more like a guac/chimichurri. Definitely coming back! CON: the booth seat had no cushioning, hard to get in/out of table. One of Bathroom soap dispensers didn’t work

I went here the other at about noon for lunch. I was with two other family members and there was barely anybody in there(barely anyone goes there anymore). I ordered the taco salad with beef and when the food came out, rather quickly I might add, I had chicken instead. I didn’t bring any attention to the waiter because it was still a pretty decent taco salad, just find it rather annoying that there was a handful of people in the restaurant at the time and they still managed to mess up my order. The waiter asked us many times how the meal was and refilled our drinks as soon as they got low, love that.

Great food. We went on Saturday night and got 6.99 dos equis amber pitcher. Service was not that great. Has to get own napkins and silverware. If your not in a hurry definitely stop by but if your in a hurry don’t bother.

My fiancé and I stopped here while we were in town for the Kings Island Run & Ride. We love trying New Mexican restaurants, especially when we are out of town. We loved everything about this place! Our waiter was so friendly, the service was fast, and the food was AMAZING! One of the best Mexican joints we have been to in a long long time. We will be returning to this place when we stay in Cincinnati again.

A few weeks ago, when I was visiting my parents in Mason, we decided to venture out to Viva Tequila to satisfy some margarita cravings. We walked in the door, and weren’t acknowledged. There were at least 4 dirty tables waiting to be bussed, and even the waiters didn’t take a single look at us. We waited for 15 minutes, and a couple that came in behind us even left before we did. In one final attempt to dine there, I called the restaurant from my cell phone while standing by the hostess stand. Someone picked up and I was swiftly hung up on. Needless to say, we left after that and found a more suitable Mexican restaurant with more attentive staff. We will not be dining here again.

Sunday afternoon lunch. Not overly busy. We sat at the bar to «ensure» we had service. We didn’t, and we didn’t for a LONG time. No bartender on duty, but servers came to the bar to make drinks and still didn’t ask us if we had been helped. Finally, even though we were given menus as soon as we sat down and there were other people seated at tables in the same room, we were asked for our drink order. The rest of the service was just as slow. Food came out hot, salsa and chips were good(at least I think they were, by the time we got them, we were starving). Presentation was a good, flavor was so-so. Maybe it’s because I LOVE authentic Mexican food and this had been«blanded» out for the Ohio crowd, but it could have been much tastier, and definitely spicier. If you’ve had a long day at King’s Island, maybe it’s a decent place to stop, but for a date night, there is definitely better in town.

Went here for lunch after church today. I really enjoyed the place and the meal I got. I ordered a #3 and it was a lot of food, two tacos an enchilada and a chili con queso. Also let me say most of these American authentic Mexican restaurants all have a mild watery salsa but not here it was thick and had a little kick to it. I was pleasantly surprised and will be returning. The service was good just a little slow but we were a large group so that might have played a part in it. Over I enjoyed it and will be back.

Not even busy on Saturday night, yet the very worst service of my life, the waitress had no clue of what was what on the menu, and then we had to sit and wait for more chips and salsa forever. waitress did not even acknowledge us once as she walked past us over and over again. Once we received the food we sat for about 10 minutes waiting for silverware that should of been on the table in the first place. So disappointed that I tried to cancel the desert that my daughter ordered, and the waitress simply said«sorry it’s already in the computer, I can’t change it». Skip this hole and go to taco bell across the street for your Mexican food fix. For everything I complained about here I had to flag down bus boys to resolve because the waitress was too busy hiding/dodging work. Food was not even exciting, if it were we could of overlooked what the waitress lacked. Seriously the very worst restaurant experience of my life. ZEROTIP for this waitress, and too bad, I tip very well! 9:30 June 27th2015

We went last night, for dinner. The food was amazing and was very fresh. Didn’t care for my drink. I ordered a Margarita and it didn’t taste as well as it does at other restaurants.

It is hit and miss here. More misses than hits unfortunately. We try to give them a chance to do well but just seemed to be under par. The waiting is just awful. Just to get our drink order it takes over 10 minutes. Then another 10 – 15 minutes to get out food order. I think the only reason we come back is because of the food. It is pretty good and somewhat fresh. Or it might be the only Mexican place I know in Mason.

If I could give zero stars I would. We ordered a margarita(frozen) that was pure sugar with no tequila that we could taste. When we asked they said it had some tequlia… must of had a half a shot max in a small pitcher. The food was crap. You could get better service and food at Chipotle across the street. Not sure what happened to this place from 2 years ago, but this place is awful.

We decided to stop in to check out Viva Tequila for drinks. We were here on a Tuesday evening around 6pm or so… not busy yet. There were 4 in our party, I was the last to arrive. There were about 6 other people in the restaurant when I arrived. But I did not see one server when I walked through the restaurant to the bar, which was located in the back. The rest of my party were already sitting at the bar with a pitcher of Margaritas and chips and salsa. The margarita was okay, it had extra 1800 in it to help it taste better. The chips were okay. Service was very slow, the bartender only came back once to check on us. So based on this experience, I doubt we would come back.

By far the worst Mexican food I have ever tasted. I order the carnitas dinner… The portion was good, however all the sides where terrible, the lettuce was soggy and brown, the pico the gallo had 3 random uncooked mushroom on it. The rice was tasteless. The service was extremely slow, we order and appetizer and got our food before getting it. The server seem annoyed to have to serve us. No refills ever happen. I would not return back to this place.

I’m very sorry but the service was slow(3 servers were watching tennis on the 7 tv’s, had to flag a waiter down for our payment to be taken in the end) and the food was maybe one step above taco Tuesday at del taco/taco bell. We ordered basic food(super combo, veggie combo, and dinner combo). It took 12 mins for the food to arrive for our party of small party of 3. It wasn’t as amazing as other reviews claim, just regular and mediocre Mexican food prices with an extra dollar or two. Other than poor service and semi OK food, the salsa gets it’s very own star(along with the warm chips served with it) and the restaurant itself gets 3(clean/aesthetic). I can’t understand why it has 4 stars, in all honesty, the food and service is worth 3.5 at the highest. BUT I have to confess, we’re from California and know what real Mexican food should taste like.

So after some overpriced, less than satisfactory theme park food, we came here before heading home. We left very pleased. The service was pretty good– we did have to coach our server through refills, more chips, silverware, clear empty dishes etc. but he was attentive, smiled and kept a good attitude and kept up with all the requests of our party of 9. The portions were all good size. Everyone left full and happy. I had not had a fajita quesadilla before and it sounded good. I think it will be 3 meals for me, but I did load up on chips and the monster bowls of cheese dip and guacamole. Others had a variety of burritos and enchiladas. After a quick straw poll, the opinions of the rest of the party matched up with mine– happy with the food, service was pretty good, overall happy. There are a lot of chain type and fast food type restaurants here in this area near the KI/Great Wolf area. This is a good choice for getting away from those to rest after a long day, or just avoid one more greasy piece of pizza before heading to home. We had a group from age 5 to 65, and all found something they liked. The only thing we can’t comment on was the bar– had to drive home, so maybe next time.

This is my second visit to Viva Tequila, the first being earlier this summer after a long fun day at Kings Mills. I was already sold by the food and margaritas, so this time around I was coming back for more. There are Texas margaritas and Cadillac margaritas, but the house margarita is plenty powerful and tasty. The salsa is one of the best little dishes of fun I’ve had anywhere, with huge chunks of tomatoes avocado and other goodness. This time, I opted for the Grande Fajita(steak, pork Carnitas, shrimp, chorizo and chicken, garnished with grilled pineapple.) Well, when they said grande, they were not kidding. It reminds me of the old adage at Walt Disney World’s Ohana where the credo is «don’t eat until your full, eat until you’re tired». There was so much food on this plate and they didn’t skimp on anything. I could possibly get into some sort of diatribe about serving sizes in America, but right now, hell no. Everything was amazingly flavorful, and many may not like pineapple But I found it to be a beautiful touch on top of all the amazing other carne on the platter. Service was exquisite, once again, and I love the décor, it’s clean and well presented, the music, subtle. I’m already planning on coming back to Kings Mills in the summer of 2014 to ride the Banshee, so you can bet your life I’m coming back to this place for more of awesome goodness!
