Troy’s Cafe

Took my wife and father. You order then sit. Kind of strange, they bring your receipt later. The Reuben rolls were yummy and greasy. Got the Cuban and it was very good. It was cold by the windows.

Found this place a couple weeks ago using Unilocal while in the area. It was great the first time and I made it back to the restaurant again and the food was great again. I had the special which was the French dip sandwich and I got the cream of broccoli soup. They were very tasty and I will have to make it up to Mason again and try something else. I thought I read somewhere that they use local food and if they do kudos to them.

I grew up in Mason and have fond memories of this building when it was Kidd Coffee, and I have a feeling it’s going to be home to many more memories as Troy’s Café. Troy’s is exactly what Mason needs more of: local/​non-​franchise restaurants with a seasonal and unique menu.
I stopped by for dinner with some girlfriends and was completely blown away by the delicious food and affordable prices. This isn’t a traditional sit-​down (you order at the counter, get your own water/​soda, and the servers bring the food to your table), but the food was above average. My friends each had the Uovo Sandwich and Grilled Cheese/​Tomato Soup (both of which wiped their plates clean), while I decided on the Salmon Orzo dish. The salmon was perfectly crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. The dish was the perfect proportion and hit the spot.
But, what really earned Troy’s the 5-​star review was the $ 10 bottles of wine. Kudos for not jacking up the price of a bottle you could’ve picked up at Kroger for a quarter of the price!
Troy’s stole the show and I can’t wait to come back and check out that 5-​Cheese Mac & Cheese!

We are regulars at the West Chester location but we came to mason and had to stop by. Excellent Place and great food. Best Cuban sandwich outside of the Caribbean.

Nice neighborhood spot with great food, excellent ambiance and awesome customer service. I love having such a chill spot in the middle of the suburbs… Fish tacos are da bomb!

Cute place in Mason. Has a nice little patio and some good food. Our service was good. They are waiting on their beer license so I was bummed about that, but they should be getting that any day. Great spot for casual lunch or dinner.

Yummy food in a cozy atmosphere. I had a burger which was delicious with great chips. Hubby had a salmon orzo pasta which he said was very good. Would definitely go back!

The outside might fool you into thinking it’s just a little burger joint but you would be so wrong!!! I love the décor, cute and cozy with just enough trendy. Lots of natural light. Plenty of seating. Restrooms clean and tasteful.
On to the staff. I felt so welcomed. Friendly faces, can do attitudes. Helpful and genuinely sweet. I had my little one and believe me, that sometimes gets you some looks. Not so here, very family friendly.
You order at the counter. I like that. Very efficient. They give you beautiful glasses for your drinks. You get them yourself but I love that it was real glasses. Menu is a bit pricey if you don’t appreciate what you’re getting. I would have gladly paid more. I got the troy burger with an egg. Omg. I can’t even describe how delicious. The burger itself was perfect. It tasted like a «real» burger. No soy Crap and fillers that you get elsewhere. It was fresh and perfect. The fries were seasoned perfectly and not at all greasy. I can’t wait to go back!
If you appreciate fresh food prepared with what can only be described as love, go to Troys.

High Quality ingredients and delicious food. I had previously eaten at Troy’s in West Chester and was excited to see one open in Mason. This location is so much better! The inside atmosphere is artsy and casual. It feels cozy due to décor, but is actually quite large. We chose to eat out on their nice patio. We ordered inside, got our drinks, and food was brought out to us when ready (all made to order). He had the chicken pretzel sandwich with pub chips. I ordered the mushroom swiss burger and seasoned fries. Both dishes were delicious and just the right portions. I also enjoyed a cream soda. Their deserts looked sensational, will have to return to try those when not so full!

Love this place! It has it all– price, service, and amazing food! And above all, it’s unique.

What an amazing first impression. We’ve driven by Troy’s too many times to count and always talk about going in to try it out, this weekend we did just that. Every one working was super nice and helpful and were very patient as we went over the menu. Then the food came out hot and fresh and tasted delicious. We went with the Troy’s Burger, Cuban Panini and Kid’s Burger and no one left disappointed. Great portion sizes and the fries were crispy and awesome. I can’t wait to go back and try even more of what Troy’s has on their menu.

Great food. Great place. Highly recommended. Loved the café environment and food was amazing. Delicious fresh produce with great taste.

Excellent restaurant all around. The raspberry salmon salad I got had much flavor and tasted very fresh! The inside of the restaurant has a modern feel and makes you feel right at home.

We visited Troy’s last week for dinner. It was nice to know up front from other reviews that it was counter service and seat yourself. We ordered the Troy’s Burger and the Cuban Sandwich. While the woman who took my order said the burgers were cooked toward the medium well side she said they would cook to order. I said I would like mine toward the medium rare side. There was no pink at all. This is a miss for a place that highlights their burger. My wife had the Cuban sandwich and really enjoyed it. The chips that come with it were not that memorable. I had the cup of soup and the Salmon Chowder was good. The prices were reasonable and they offer Beer and Wine. We will give it another shot and I hope to be able to revise my score upward.

What a treat! We’ve been living in Mason for a couple of years and have been really missing that LOCAL restaurant with fresh, healthy options, no fuss, delicious, welcoming environment that we were used to when we lived in Oakley. We’ve found all that at Troy’s! I had their veggie panini (I’m definitely a carnivore and this was very satisfying!) and he had the uovo sandwich and thought it the «best egg sandwich, or maybe sandwich in general, I’ve ever had». Normally I hate when stuff comes with chips, but seriously, get the chips! They slice them thin daily and flash fry to a nice crisp then toss in their «secret seasoning» which we were told is about 20 herbs/​spices –yum!
Long story short, this place hits all the marks and we can’t wait to go back!

It was welcome news when Troy’s opened in Mason much closer to my home as they serve very good food, have a pleasant staff, and charge fair prices.
I especially like their fish tacos — blackened tilapia with salsa and a «secret sauce» (which tasted like a modified sriracha). Their gourmet burgers are also juicy and worth the money — my favorite is the Swiss cheese and portobello mushroom burger. I like that they give a choice of side dish in place of standard chips with no up-​charge, including a cup of soup, small salad, or black beans. My choice of tomato bisque soup was a bit too acidic for my tastes, but many may like theirs that way.
My only complaint is that the back work area is in full view of the dining room and like most restaurant kitchens it’s not a good look. Perhaps adding a saloon type swing half door would mask this unappealing sight.

Food looked amazing! However…
BBQ pulled pork sliders — The sauce was super super sweet, zero tang and drenched my plate with oil. The pork was chewy and initially served cold (probably microwaved). I requested them to nuke it, it came back warm. I’m picky, if ur not, eat at Troys. I prefer BBQ a very specific way — these sliders were extremely opposite to that preference. I blame myself for ordering the special and the cashier for recommending it… 9 $ would buy a much better feast at one of the neighboring restaurants.
The «Uovo» sandwich. The egg was cooked perfect, which was best part of the set… The sandwich was supposed to get aioli, but came with plain mayo instead. Just thru it off a bit, was hoping for better.
In light of ‘Troy M’s message to me very upset and unsatisfied by my 2 star review –attempting to play some sort of victim of slander.
I” am very picky and need to grow up” as the chef stated in his message to me regarding my post. Being the consumer, I feel I should have a right to be negative when the time calls for it. Being a chef is more than wearing a white jacket w buttons. Troys was talked about so positively on Unilocal,I expected a corresponding experience.

So glad we decided to try this restaurant as it will be our new go to in a city full of chain restaurants. Great food, wine selection, music, and ambience… Thanks Troy!

Don’t let that fool you. Everyone was superbly attentive and helpful. Tables cleared quickly. They all had one focus – making us feel welcome.
Ate REALLY well and QUICKLY for a Friday night.
Saratoga chips, Troy burger and Troy’s mama’s peanut butter pie were tremendous!

I tried this little café in Mason and I was shocked. The Troy burger and side café salad were packed with flavor and fresh ingredients. I would have given them 5 stars but they only have Pepsi products and I am definitely not a fan. If they had Coke products it would be a solid 5 star for your local café.
