Hi David(manager), In answer to your question of what is my favorite meal«The Monterrey» is my favorite. So many wonderful combinations. Your tacos are to die for. The shell is so crispy light, I love them. If the Monterrey didn’t have the unusual combinations in enchiladas, ie: avocado and spinach I would never had tried them. But thank goodness I did, they are wonderful. Have found no other to compare and we have eaten in many mexican restaurants from Texas, to New Mexico, Arizona and California. Happily, Elaine

Asked questions about how the food was prepared and the waiter could not answer. He went into the kitchen and the kitchen could not really answer either. Stay away if you have any dietary concerns!

Con: Plain food, not too much flavor to the food. If you are Hispanic you will not like as is lacking grandma in the kitchen cooking. Service was OK, kitchen staff forgot a burrito and to add chicken in one of the kids quesadillas as we requested. Pro: Decent price and really nice inside, nice décor. No wait on a Sunday. If you looking for authentic Mexican food go some place else. Kids review: 9yr old 2 star for service only, 7yr old 1 star.

In answer to Dave’s question, I last ate there the day this review was posted. Prior to that, it had been several years. I should have also said I really appreciated that the server was knowledgeable enough to stop me from ordering the chicken fajitas with corn tortillas. That’s my go to at Mexican restaurants because it’s always been always gluten free in my experience. I would have gotten myself sick had it not been for that server.

I like this restaurant very much. At least I have been there ten times since 2013. I feel here is very clean and organized for many things and served good foods to meet general requirements of us. If I would say to them about our requests, I expect they should appropriate advices for the foods if we could not understand those foods especially. But anyway I like here very much, I must come again in near future.

I doubt we’ll be back for a while. Yesterday, our waiter was inexperienced, a very low talker and virtually impossible to hear/understand. When I asked him to speak up, his reply was«Sorry I am a low talker» and his voice become quieter. There was a «Happy Hour Menu» that was provided to each of us but when we tried to order from the Happy Hour Menu, we learned that the items were only available at the bar? The fine print, and I mean the very small print on that menu said that these items were at the bar. The Tacos on the bar menu were $ 3.00 each and looked like a bargain. In the past, we have had good service at this restaurant but yesterday I came away feeling like I was ripped off.

Went for lunch on a weekday — no wait which was nice. Ordered a dip sampler as an appetizer and it was decent, not the best guacamole I’ve had. Great fajitas and sizable potions, although somewhat expensive for Mexican food. The service was average(not bad though).

Terrific experience and our server Megan was amazing. Never had an empty glass. Her personality and attentiveness created one of the best dining experiences we have had in recent months! So glad we were sat in her section. As far as the actual food… it was amazing. There were 7 of us eating, and each of us got something completely different. I chose the Spinach Enchiladas and they were amazing as always, they never disappoint, and I always have left over(I’m a sucker for left overs). The rest of the people that were with me chose a variety of foods, from tacos to burritos to chimichangas to fajitas to the divine chili con queso dip! No cup ever went empty, and we each thoroughly enjoyed every morsel that we ate. Needless to say, we rolled out of the restaurant and can’t wait to go back:)

Just ducked in for a late lunch with my wife! The dip sampler was amazing as was the Grand Burrito. My wife loves the cheese quesadilla plate! Happy Hour drink specials are cheap but great! Service was perfect. Excellent visit today!

This is a pretty solid joint. It’s different than most Mexican restaurants I’ve been to. It’s got a nice décor and vibe that makes eating here seem more upscale than your typical Mexican food joint — that being said casual attire is what you’ll find here and jeans are more than acceptable. The menu is a nice mix of traditional Mexican fare and some more creative chef inspired options. One thing I really like about this place is the happy hour/small plates menu. It’s perfect for the after work drink or an outing where you only want some light bites. One thing they do a bit differently that I really like is bring a trio of salsas as well as warm chips to the table. The bring a traditional pico, a sweet green salsa, and a spicy garlic salsa. Yum! I would recommend for sure!

My wife and I went for an early Saturday dinner and were delighted by the food. Although the service was a bit slow due to a waiter who seemed to wish he was somewhere else, we enjoyed the experience. I had a three pack of enchiladas that were very fresh and tasty. My wife had the chicken fajitas, and the tortillas were soft and delicious and the chicken was very well seasoned. We will definitely go back. Also, try the Sangria Swirl. I believe it was a swirly of frozen Sangria and frozen Margarita. It was absolutely fantastic! I may see if I can get that drink as a carryout item. :-)

Horrible food here. I ordered lunch portion shrimp fajitas and they arrived with a dash of cheese a spoon of salsa and a lime. My shrimp had barbecue sauce on it(what the hell?) the shrimp was the smallest shrimp I’ve ever seen and it was majority onions. Save your money and don’t come here.

Loved our server, Jonathon! Very friendly staff, fast service, and delicious food. Even our pen was working perfectly for the check. Only minor complaint was that the nachos came out a little slower than expected. Other than that, this was a great restaurant for the whole family and I’d definitely go back.

The food here was absolutely delicious and they have a lot of great options too. The pre-meal chips were too thin for my taste. The drinks were terrible. I had 2 margaritas and they were so weak, they just tasted like juice. I even asked for an extra shot in the 2nd and it was no good. Go for the food, not the drinks.

Expensive prices for canned food. I ordered the $ 16 fajita for one. They came out with 98% onions and 2 slivers of green bell peppers. I ask the waitress about it and she said that was normal but she would bring me out more peppers. She indeed brought me out peppers but they were raw and cold. They didn’t even bother to grill them. The salsa tastes as if it was made with can tomatoes. The sweet tea is awesome and would have been worth $ 3 if I could have gotten it refilled. The food has a lot to be desired as well as the serve. When we left the hostess didn’t even thank us or say bye. Will not return.

This is a place that my wife and I love to go for a dinner date — but this time we thought we’d bring the kids with us. We have a couple of small ones so sometimes family dinner nights out can get interesting! That being said, we couldn’t have had a better experience. We had Megan as our server, she was really attentive, very knowledgeable about different menu options and had an answer for all our questions. My cup was never empty! The kids menu is mostly what you would expect, but with a little Tex-Mex flair. This is another area where Megan really came through for us. My little dude is not a fan of fries — and he would starve before he would eat rice and beans. We asked her for some options and she was able to suggest some things(not a on the kids menu) that worked out great for him — all with a smile and great attitude. My only reservation here is that the kids menu was a little pricy for what you get. Now that we’ve got all the kiddie stuff out of the way lets talk food. Abuelos has a pretty extensive menu that ranges from what you would expect from a Mexican restaurant and some more creative options. Like any Mexican restaurant they serve chips while you wait for your meal, unlike most of their competition they serve 3 amazing salsas with them. You’re going to want to try each of these because they’re each very flavorful. Tonight I ordered steak Fajita Chimichangas with rice and papas con chile. That’s an example of one their more creative items, and it was delicious. It came loaded with queso and that was just fine by me. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether it’s a night out for two or if you’re bringing the whole family.

Before I tie into this joint, a little background on what qualifies me to pass judgement… I’m 41 years old, born and raised in California. For my first 22 years I spent my life in the southern part of the state and grew up in a largely Hispanic neighborhood. Further more I’ve a significant percentage of Mexican blood pumping through my corazon(heart in Ohioan). I grew up on Mexican food. Mi Abuela, who didn’t speak a word of English cooked for me till I was a teenage vato and she would ashamed of the food coming out of this kitchen. Perhaps I need to take into consideration the geographic location of the state/restaurant and its distance from Mexico before condemning this place to a two star review but if you’re taking the time to read my thoughts, you might consider that I gave five stars to a Mediterranean joint in Blue Ash and I’m pretty sure that Greece is further away than Mexico. But I digress. I’ll start with their menu. It must be 18 – 20 pages long. Immediately something is rotten in Denmark/Mexico. You can’t have a menu that length and maintain quality. Trim it down by a 3rd and focus on what remains and you’ll produce better quality food. I ordered a plate of 3 enchiladas. Enchiladas, evidently enchiladas are their specialty because they have 19 varieties on their menu. The carnitas was soupy(eww), The shredded beef was ok, and the chicken seemed to be boiled in salt water(again, eww). The green chili sauce, that I prefer was pretty good, however it was coagulated and crusted over by the time it arrived to my table. My wife ordered a shredded beef taco and cheese enchilada. She wasn’t as dissapointed as I was but agreed that there’s no need for us to return. My daughter had a plain cheese quesadilla and french fries, no complaints from her. They’ve got the melting cheese and hot oil thing perfected I suppose. Is it the worst Mexican food I’ve ever had? Not by a long shot, hence the two stars. But we waited 30 minutes to be seated, and by the time we left there was still a line out the door. The music, statues, and décor made no sense to me, I just don’t understand. If you don’t know Mexican food, check it out, perhaps you’ll disagree. However, if you do, let me know where I can find some in Cincinnati, cause this isn’t the place.

This food was absolutely delicious! My wife ordered the Sangria and Pork tenderloin. The pork was tender with the perfect balance of sweet and spicy. They also serve complimentary chips and 3 types of salsa(2 tomato based &1 tomatillo based?) My server was attentive and I would definitely visit again for happy hour.
