Han Mi Tae Kwon Do Karate Studio

I wanted my son to try out karate, since I did it when I was young and loved it. His dad was deploying, so I wanted to keep him entertained and responsible. We went there to try out a class. The instructor was so rude and mean. I was blown away. He didn’t give my son any direction at all. I was so disappointed. My son kept looking at me and shrugging because he was lost. During stretching, the instructor told them to do something, my son was doing it wrong, but damn was he trying with a smile on his face. He was enjoying it! I was happy. Then the instructor came over and pushed him into the stretch and made my son buckle and cry out in pain. My son wasn’t positioned right. I thought the instructor was going to show him that his leg needed to go further out. Nope. It makes me mad that I sat there and didn’t stick up for my son. We never went back. We have since found another place and my son is kicking butt. We found a tough instructor who seemed interesting in taking in a new comer and actually teaching, not one who is just annoyed with a six year old. I guess Mr Payne takes his name serious.

We started bringing our now 5 year old here about 4 months ago and she loves it! Mr. Payne is GREAT with the kids. He’s strict but fair and the kids adore him. The price is fair and the kids have fun while getting exercise! The only negative I can think of is the lack of air conditioning in the summer (which I think they are working on!). I hope to keep bringing my daughter here for many years to come.
