First, let me say that having a Martinsville address for this location is very misleading since it is north of SR144 between Mooresville and the Center Grove section of Greenwood.(Much closer to Indy). I stopped in for lunch and enjoyed looking at the overload of memorabilia of «days gone by» that cover the interior of the restaurant. I ordered the grilled tenderloin sandwich which was pretty tasty. Service was okay and the food was enjoyable, but there wasn’t much about this restaurant to distinguish it from other restaurants beyond the decoration. Pretty much a standard menu of items.

Vicki G. I have ate here more than 4 or 5 times. Love the hamburgers. Every time was great. This is only half a mile from my house and will definitely be back. Back in the day it was a Dairy Queen. It closed about 15 years ago. So glad to see the building brought back to life. Keep the good times rolling!

Tried it again, shame on us. Can’t even give it a star, place is really dirty, staff seems more into breaks than service and food is not good. Really wonder how it is still open. Don’t waste your money or your time. Really can’t post without a star.

Normally this place is not that bad. Today first started at 11:10 ask of they still had breakfast they said yes so we ordered breakfast. I ordered an unsweet tea. Got a sweet tea no problem simple mistake. Then brought back another sweet tea and said well the container said un sweet. So then she said I will have to make some unsweet tea ok fine. Then she brings me … You guessed it sweet tea and said this should be better … Nope still sweet tea just deluded… Now it is 11:45 they are not busy btw and I have not seen the waitress in 10 min she comes back in from a break and is looking for our food. They had not even started it yet it was now 12:00 and no apologies just its will be out soon. Can’t tell you if the food was good we walked out before it got to the table. Terrible service and the fact the owner was the one cooking and loosing orders makes it worse. Taste that knuckle sandwich… If they can get it to you in less than an hour

Nicely done! They did an excellent job of redoing a dilapidated Dairy Queen. The décor along with the front counter seats really help to give this a 50’s Diner vibe. I ordered a banana shake and a bacon cheeseburger without all the salad items on it. The shake was awesome. Very creamy and with tons of banana flavor. I will be stopping by here just to get these! The burger was good. It was a little overdone on some of the edges, but I like my meat well-done. It had an ample amount of bacon(see picture). Yum! The service here was great as well. All of the employees seemed to like working here and interacted well with one another. It is always refreshing to see people who enjoy their job. A return visit is definite as this place is half-way between my house and my parents’ house.

We went there for breakfast and got the knuckle sandwich! It was amazing! Had all different kinds of meat and cheese and eggs on it. The place looks like a regular old school diner but don’t let the outside fool ya. This is some good home cooking. Everything on the menu looked really good. If you are in the area this is a must try!

Never had a bad meal here after several visits. Not much on the menu would be considered«healthy» but that’s not what they advertise either. The décor is 50’s/60’s Americana with images, logos, and advertisements everywhere you look. Looks like I’ll be a regular as long as they keep up the good work.

First time I’ve ate here. Great Service and Great food. I have worked at Edwards drive in in the past and this place blows them out of the water. Will be definitely going back.

Kitschy décor + basic eats. I met up some southsided family for a casual lunch at The Knuckle Sandwich and the consensus was — its pretty good. The KS offers a standard menu of sandwiches, burgers, + salads with breakfast until 11am. The location itself is an old Dairy Queen-barn-style building crammed with a mishmash of Rockabilly + I Love Lucy. The highlight? The staff! Super, super friendly. With limited non-chain dining around, the KS is a safe bet for a laid back bite. PS. As a non-native Hoosier, I still don’t understand the appeal of the tenderloin, nonetheless, ‘The Hubcap’ seems to be a menu highlight.

My husband and I stopped by and had a great experience. We got the ½ onion rings and ½ fried mushrooms appetizer. I got a cheeseburger and chips with water and my husband got the catfish sandwich with chips with water. Our bill was less than 20 bucks. The service was great. It is a cute little diner. They also have entrees and specials that run monday thru Thurs. I will definitely be back to this cute diner.

Great location with a great old school atmosphere. Food was good and service was polite and quick. Solid place to visit, and if you are in the area then you should stop by.

One of the best grilled tenderloins around, and the atmosphere is perfect!!! Also, they serve Pepsi with choices of vanilla, cherry or chocolate flavorings if you like… brought back some Tee Pee memories! Service can be a little slow at times, but it’s usually because they’re ALWAYS packed!

We love the knuckle sandwich. We stop every time we head south to Bloomington or return to greenwood. We have tried most of the food and it is a great dining experience. There is plenty of fun food to try for the kids and the service is fantastic. There is always a ton of servers and bussers.

We had a great experience! Food was awesome! Saw a review on here from«Ryan» who hated everything about it. He must have been born in the 90’s, couldn’t get past not having«Seasoned» French Fries… This is the Diner food I grew up on. I’m glad«Ryan» isn’t coming back. Highly reccomend this place!

Food was good. Service was terrible. Janice B was our waitress. Took over an hour to be served and get the check. Didn’t explain appetizer options which were not on the menu. Had an attitude from the beginning when I requested a change of drink because I didn’t like the flavor of the tea. Argumentative and not attentive to our needs at all. If I were to ever return, I would definitely request a different waitress.

Gag me with a spoon, oh snap that is a 80“s saying. I would have preferred the spoon. Food here is nasty at best. I think everything comes out of the freezer. Saw my hamburger patty and tenderloin tossed on to the grill(frozen) Fries no seasoning at all. Dumped into oil and straight to plate. You would think, I would have learned the first time I ate here.

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while. Seen their stuff in flyers and what not and thought I would check them out. Arrived just after lunch and the place was packed. Thought, well that’s a good sign. Took a seat and waited for about 5 minutes. A server walked by and told another server that she«had to take us» and smiled at us.(like wishing us luck) Our server came and took our drink order. They have some nice lunch specials, so I asked about them. Our server, who never told me her name, could not answer any of my questions. How big the hamburger was? «um, ah, well, it’s big but not too big» I gave her 3 choices and she said” well, it’s in between 1⁄3 to ¼ lb” I then asked about the pizza and got the same response. She just didn’t have a clue about anything food related. I asked about the sausage and if it was homemade, if it was big cubes or small cubes or even if it was like ground beef. She kept saying… «um, well, yeah, I think, or um yeah, it’s nice I like it, it’s really good, small and big, it’s decent» She is 100% CLUELESS on food and on serving. I will say she is a VERY beautiful young woman, so pretty that she could be a model, but serving food is not anywhere in her wheelhouse or remotely close. To have been asked basic questions about the menu and about the food and to not even thing about saying«let me find out for you» is just simply amazing! This is the reason that restaurants fail, stupid people and people not caring about their jobs! They have some great prices on the pizza and for a carryout later on, this is something that I would like to know about. We settled in on 3 different items to give them a shot on each. A cheeseburger, a small 2 item pizza and another sandwich. We now discovered why the place was packed. There seems to be nobody that knows what they are doing in the kitchen. I got up to look into the kitchen and was a little nerved. I saw 5 people standing in the kitchen, and nobody in the place had hair nets on, including the wait staff, who walk into the kitchen, grill area and prep stations. NOBODY had gloves on. As a food service professional, this really is upsetting. Small town diner or not, there should be a set of standards, and this place seems to have NONE. They work each ticket as it comes in, that is why things took over a hour and half to get. There is no sense of what is going on, and to work as each item comes in is nothing short of crazy! Our pizza, which was hand tossed with pepperoni and mushroom came out in 40 mins. The pizza which did look nice, looked like it was just thrown together. To me, it was grab this and grab that put it on and get it out of the kitchen. The crust was very good, but had NOSAUCE on it. I mean, it was crust, cheese and the toppings just thrown on. I saw and tasted no sauce. I love sauce on pizza, and forgot to ask for extra sauce, but had no idea that it would have none on it. Then the waiting game started again. From what I could tell our waitress had tables throughout the restaurant. She had ours and the one next to it, then way across the restaurant and mixed in and around. Again, no rhyme or reason to the flow, and no sections like it should be. The 2 sandwiches took 1 hour. ONEHOUR to come out. My fries were stone cold, the cheese was not melted on the burger and it was luke warm, I asked for EXTRA pickles on the cheeseburger, I got 3 total. I was so starving that I couldn’t wait for our waitress to come back so I started to eat… I was just over half way through when she came bouncing back to ask how everything was. I asked for more pickles and she went and got me some. It seemed as though we were more of a trouble then paying customers. I didn’t feel welcomed or even wanted. Had to wait forever for refills, and with the pizza, we didn’t even have any silverware on or near our table. All said, I was very disappointed. This place could be really good, but they just don’t have the right people doing things. I would be more then willing to help them and to show them how a kitchen and restaurant should be run, as the way they are doing things is sure to fail. I won’t be surprised if they are closed in a few months, as based on this experience I would not be a return customer. As a rule, I give places 2 times before I «X» them off my list, I don’t think giving them a second chance would be worth it, UNLESS somebody like myself helps them turn things around. I would like to try the carryout pizza, but if it’s anything like the lunch special, no thanks. They need to have standards and abide by the health code, no hats or hairnets on people is a sure sign of trouble. I had to wipe my own table off when we got there, and I used about 4 napkins on the ketchup and mustard bottle, which were caked in grease and grime. The napkins were almost black when I got done wiping them. To think, these are something you use on your items and then eat, all that is going in you.

Stopped in to have lunch with my wife. I had the breaded tenderloin and she had the Reuben. We were seated immediately and our server was very attentive to our needs. Food came out quickly after ordering and was very good. Tenderloin was perfect thickness with a grilled bun. Reuben had great flavor and was very moist unlike previous review. We had a side of onion rings which met my expectation of a diner style ring. Price is fair for the quality and amount of food received. We will definitely come back again.

Wife had a really good chocolate milkshake. Breaded tenderloin was hot and good and fries were sizzling hot. Daughter had a really good bacon double cheeseburger. Lace has only been opened for a couple of weeks… service a tad sluggish and confused. Overall, I think this place can make it.
