Stopped by while in the area at the suggestion of another group and the Groupon deal. We happened to talk with one of the family members and she was just wonderful. They don’t currently have wine of their own but feature wines and beers from the area. She said that they are hoping to have their own wine soon, with the help of the good folks at Benmarl. We also had pizza and truffle fries. Very good and live music as well! What a great find!!!

Great little spot for wine tasting of all local wines. Also got a great pizza and some local ciders. Love the cozy atmosphere and the workers are attentive and polite.

What a great find! I got the groupon deal and I have to say it’s probably the best impulse buy I’ve ever made on groupon. I did a beer/cider tasting and my friend did a wine tasting. They had a great selection and I hear they’re making no their own wine and ciders soon. The groupon also gave us a pizza so we chose the white pizza. It is caramelized onions, mushrooms, and balsamic glaze. It is delicious! Great atmosphere and service. Would recommend to everyone!

I have been going to Weed Orchards for years to pick fruit and vegetables. With the addition of the winery, this place is now my #1 getaway from the city. the selection of local wines, beers, and ciders is top notch and the winery itself is beautiful. On top of the amazing selection and friendly staff, the food is actually very very good. my favorites are the pizza, grilled cheese, and truffle fries. they have live music on the weekends and the owners are extremely welcoming and accommodating. would recommend this place to all my friends.

We have been going to Weed orchards for probably 6 years now… It seems to get better every year!!! The apples are great — awesome selection and plenty of everything… you have to get there early in the season to get the Honeycrisps — they are usually the first to go… The Jonagold’s are better in my opinion anyways… good food — the bbq plate is pricey for what you get, but if you eat inside there are a lot more options… Hayrides, Corn Maze — they have it all… and dont forget about the apple cider donuts!!! I Highly Recommend!!!

I almost don’t want to write this review because I’m afraid everyone else will find out about this amazing orchard and winery. This is our second year going to Weeds. Everyone is kind and helpful. There are fun activities for the kids, like face painting and sand art. It’s never extremely crowded and the selection of apples, pumpkins and vegetables are excellent. Parking is easy. The map they give when you arrive and the signage are very clear. I highly recommend this orchard. I just hope it doesn’t get crazy and crowded like some other places.

Went here today with the family and it really is a lovely place with breath taking views of the rolling hills and fall leaves and a pretty lake(that some idiots were having an apple chucking contest into really people?) The trees were plentiful with a huge variety to choose from as were the pumpkins laid out for you to choose They had a really nice little café that was featuring live music with yummy food(we got a regular pizza and curly fries) Ialso sampled some wine from Glenora(a nice white Similar to a pino Grigio) at the bartenders suggestion which was very good! The bartender was fast and friendly as it was crowed there Checking out was a simple process with 4 tents set up with teams of two check out lines each the wait was fast Unfortunately we didn’t get to check out the bakery or their apple cider donuts and there was a large crowd of people here today but we will save that for next time I would say all in all this place was very affordable and not over priced in anyway at all, a large bag of Apple was only $ 26 – 27 dollars and we got 3 large pumpkins as well and I think our total came to $ 48 for all of that which I was very happy with The only bitch I would have is that upon entering there are guys directing you where to park and we went in my husbands truck which has an extended cab and they directed us to park in a spot that was very difficult for us to get out of upon leaving and if the car that was parked behind us hadn’t left I don’t think we would have been able to back it of the space, I think the parking attendants should take into consideration the size of your vehicle and park you accordingly to that but it’s kinda of like they didn’t care

The orchards were beautiful! There was plenty to pick. They even had vegetables available. The apple cider donuts were to die for and my boyfriend ate about 5 of the chocolate chip cookies. It was a cute day out overall. I would definitely come back and recommend my friends to visit. The wines weren’t that great but in the end we weren’t there for the wines we went for apples. The customer service has room for improvement but not anything worth not coming for.

Just got back from here today. This place is great!!! Go if you can. There is a beautiful selection of flowers to pick. There are many wines to try and even a little spot to get some lunch if your hungry! The apple cider donuts are a must have! There is also a large selection of fruits and vegetables to pick. I can’t say enough good things about this place. I saw the owner a couple of times and each time he was extremely friendly to all costumers. This is just a feel good place, somewhere you WANT to come back to the second you get home. We drove an hour and a half to get here, and It was completely worth it!

having been to a few other Hudson Valley u pick ems, i think i can say that this is my new favorite place to go. Beautiful location, good variety of apples and veggies and fair pricing make this place a winner. They have a great bakery and store as well as prepared foods if you don’t bring your own snacks. The people who work there were all super friendly as well as helpful. We’ll definitely be back here.

This is my favorite farm! Having been to a few other farms in hudson valley to compare, this is by far the best to pick your own vegetables and fruit. My boyfriend & I come here every few weeks to harvest and the quality is amazing. John the owner is super nice and you can tell the labor of love he’s given. There’s tons to do for adults and kids, and don’t forget to try the apple cider donuts! What a magical place!!! P. S — John if you are reading this, the hot peach salsa is delicious!!!

Weed’s Orchard & Winery is a great spot for tasting regional wine. They do not yet make their own. They have a new, large tasting room that had great live music till closing. They also serve a small menu of food. We were there for their peach festival where they served special peach wine. We also had a white cheese peach bacon pizza with a balsamic drizzle that was amazing. There was also a BBQ stand outside the tasting room. The best part of our visit here was the attentive service and family atmosphere of the place. One of the tasting room workers lent us their phone when our phones died. The owner, Mr. Weed, even gave us a ride home when our cab did not seem like it was coming. We were like two helpless city mice stuck in tbd country! Do not miss this place on your wine trail visit. One of the best up state experiences I’ve had. We went on the first week of August and picked strawberries, nectarines, peaches, zucchinis, peppers, jalapeños, tomatoes and probably some other stuff. The staff was so helpful and nice can’t believe more people don’t go in these months. After picking fruits we visited their bar/winery for some tastings. And again the staff was amazing. They have great food and live music on weekends. I will definitely be back, all in all a really cheap and cool experience. We live in Manhattan and the drive barely took us an hour and a half. Can’t wait to go back in September-October.

I’m not much of a poster on Unilocal, but Weed Orchards deserves a shout out. My wife and are staying in the area and felt like doing something we haven’t done in years. We looked on line for a U pick ‘em place and found Weed Orchards. As we started looking for peaches, John the owner called over to us to tells us about the donut peaches ripe for picking. Very friendly and informative fellow. He knows his orchard well and guided us to many variety of fruits and veggies. Upon checking out, there is a bakery that sell fresh baked pies and other goodies. The orchard is family owned, and there is a relatively new wine and beer tasting addition that also serves light fare. Very nice day out in the fresh air, with beautiful scenic views. We’ll be returning with family come apple picking time. Barry and Pam

U Pick Apples for Autumn 2012 bears Fuji, Golden Delicious, Empire apples! On a Saturday before the much anticipated Hurricane Sandy arrives to the East Coast, my party of three enjoyed the remainder season of apple picking. On a clear day in the fields where stillness resonate a beautiful view of Hudson Valley’s Autumn foliage. Weed Orchards patch fields are clearly marked«Fuji» ‚“Golden Delicious”, and«Empire apples» for classified to the non-foodie. A pumpkin patch is available. The Fuji apples were enticing to taste as a cross between a pear and a banana and the Golden Delicious were a delight. They provided a wagon and a apple picker staff. On site here at Weed Orchards lies a petting zoo encompassing lambs and sheep. Weed Orchards is kid friendly with a wooden train and wooden ship for the entrance to the corn maze. On select days there is Korean BBQ on premises. Sadly, there were no active kid friendly activities on Halloween 2012 weekend as my dear friend’s five year old was in costume. Our one peck of apples at 17 lbs. totaled $ 21.00 which price varies disclosed on their website vs. on the phone. A local farm with a café and shop that coins their own apple cider(hot or cold), candy apple, preservatives and salsa available for tasting that has been exposed all day attracting a swarm of insects. Facilities are relatively clean and are actual Porcelain Thrones complete with plumbing and working sinks, NOT nasty portable potties. A parking lot exist in the mud and dirt(not gravel) for drivers to exercise caution as your wheels may be skid in dirt. Note: Mini black spiders have a strong hidden presence, grounds were extremely muggy and damp after rainfall as our shoes have taken a battered worn look full of mud and Earth’s dirt. Because in life you must sift through the WEEDS in order to find roses.
