I worked there with a vendor for a special event. The place was cute, a little overpriced for me and I made friends with what I thought was the owner and then I went back a couple days later and the person either didn’t want to deal with me or didn’t remember me, but they threw me off the property and I was just there to take a couple of pictures. He said I could always schedule a time to come back and he would charge me a special rate for being on the property so I asked how much would you charge me he said only $ 1,300. I laughed $ 1,300 is a lot to walk around and take pictures of trees.

When we arrived at the winery, our breath was taken away by the view. We came for a wine tasting, but it was busy so we decided to buy a few bottles, a cheese plate and some pizza from the wood stove. People were coming and going, soaking up the view, everyone seemed to be having a great time. Benmarl should be a definite stop on any Hudson Valley wine tour. If Angelo is behind the bar, consider it your lucky day. He’s a knowledgeable sommelier and will ensure you have a great time. 23 Rocks!

Came here on a Friday afternoon. Angelo was a fantastic host for the wine tasting. We then got a bottle of wine and sat outside enjoying the amazing view. Lovely day with the ladies!

I came here with my girlfriend as part of the Shawangunk Wine Trail’s Pasta Primo Vino event, and I’m glad we did. This place has fantastic wines, sweeping views of the Hudson River Valley, and the food that was served with the wine was delicious(potato gnocchi in a sage butter with parmesan, yum…). The people here were so friendly and inviting we ended up sitting on the hill overlooking the Hudson River and surrounding highland mountains and sipping wine for hours. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended!

We just had an anniversary party here for my parents and both the staff and the food was AMAZING! The owner and his family were really accommodating and couldn’t have made the night any better. We had their brink oven pizza and they served huge antipasto platters that were filled with genuine, high-quality cheeses and meats. Our guests were able to enjoy the delicious food and wine and the spectacular views!

Best winery we have been to. Very nice people, delicious wines, a breathtaking view, and a quaint/relaxing vibe. Highly recommend to anyone who enjoys a good wine tasting. Easy 5 stars.

I found Benmarl Winery to be one of the more disappointing wineries in the Hudson Valley Wine region. Sure, the land is beautiful, and the views are spectacular. Come with a camera and you’ll get some of the best photos in the region from their parking lot. The problems we encountered were with the wine and the staff. To start, the wine just isn’t that good. It’s not bad, don’t get me wrong, but there’s really nothing special about it. I’ve had wine from Trader Joe’s that’s tasted better, to be honest. This was one of the first wineries where we genuinely had to dump glasses because the wine was undrinkable. The real problem came with the staff. While we found a spot at the counter fairly quickly, we had to wait about 10 minutes to be set up, and then about 5 – 7 minutes or so between pours. There was no education or commentary offered about the wine, and we were left reading the tasting menu if we wanted any information. The only real communication offered was at the end of the tasting, when we were gruffly asked, «Buying any bottles today?» When we politely said no, the staff member turned her back to us and walked away. Okay, then. We won’t come back here during our trips to the Hudson Valley wine region. Mediocre wine and grumpy staff make this place a skip. There’s better options not far away.

Stunning views and great wine! Angelo was our server. He was very friendly and knowledgeable about the wines. We signed up for a membership, which includes discounts on wine purchases and free wine tastings. We had a great time and will be back soon!

Love this place! Authentic. Beautiful views of the valley. The wine tasting is reasonably priced. They even let you keep the glass. At the end if you don’t want to buy a bottle, they give you the option to buy a glass full of your favorite. We sat outside and drank wine enjoying the views. We will be back.

Love this place. The view from the property is stunning. They also have some of the best wines in the area, in my opinion — I like them so much that I have been a wine club member for 2 years and plan to continue. The tasting room is nice and the resident cat greets you with a stare. I have not been to any of the special events but plan to take advantage this year as a member. The owners are lovely and obviously take great care with their wines.

Best winery in the Marlboro area. The wine here is very good, my favorite being the Cabernet Franc. They have a variety of both vinifera wines as well as hybrids. The staff is helpful, and the tasting room is spacious. After your tasting, grab a bottle of your favorite wine and head outside to enjoy the view! One of the best winery views around, overlooking the Hudson. Been here a few times and would definitely return.

Had an amazing time at the grape stomping festival today. For 20 bucks we got to sample 6 different wines, recieve a tour, complimentary wine glass and go grape stomping. For purchase there was brick oven pizza, donuts, and homeade ice cream. However feel free to bring your own spread, spread out a blanket and take in the beautiful scenery. The views of the Hudson Valley are absolutely breathtaking. This winery is also dog friendly as well! Fyi: the Blush wine was the best!

The View = STUNNING The Staff = WELCOMING The Pizza = AWESOME The Wine = READABOVE! If the trifecta of a great view, friendly staff and great brick oven pizza doesn’t do it for you, the wine is the cherry on top. Visited here on a whim, just stopped in because I saw the sign. They have a wide variety of wines to taste and the tasting room is very well appointed, open and bright. This is a must stop on the Shawangunk(shon-gum) wine trail. I am heading back in October to see the fall foliage and enjoy another awesome pizza and a bottle of vino!

Lovely tasting. The event is slow getting going but the venue is pretty great. Nice view, friendly sheep, amazing wood fired pizza, decent wines. Small turn-out for this event but we couldn’t be happier to have this place to ourselves!

This place is a piece of heaven on earth. The wines are delicious and the views of the Hudson Valley far surpass anything the other wineries in the area might have to offer. Victor Spaccarelli(proprietor) graciously opens his grounds for all to respectfully enjoy, and will make most anyone feel as if they are an invited guest instead of just a patron.

My wife surprised me for our anniversary by taking me here. And what a slice of heaven it is. A breathtaking view of the hudson river valley, delicious wine, excellent food, and a very quaint but perfect room. Victor, the host, is a perfect gentleman and wonderfully hospitable. May I say, everything about this place is perfect, all the way down to Victor’s dog, Cutie. We are looking forward to coming back… numerous times. And have told my daughter I would pay for her wedding here… so long as she does not marry the schlump she is with now.

The winery has a beautiful view from the tasting room. They also have a bed and breakfast. Maybe my expectation was too high, my visit wasn’t satisfying. My main problem was with the tasting room staff. It was very slow and not helpful at all. We got so bored while we are doing tasting because all the employees in the tasting room were too busy stocking wines and busy with phone calls. They seems like didn’t care about customers in front of them. Three couples were waiting for a tasting, just getting a pour of the next wine took at least 10 mins. We asked questions about their grapes, but they didn’t seem to know a lot about their wines and how they are made. They didn’t seem to care about my questions. We needed to read tasting menu to get detailed info about wines. 2012 proprietors reserve was decent red blend. 2012 barrel fermented Chardonnay was decent with balanced well fruit aroma but finish was little bit bitter, semi dry Riesling was too citrus for my taste. This winery was one of the most unfriendliest with unknowledgeable tasting room staff I have ever been to.
