I’ve been coming to Bagel Talk for years now. The storefront is very welcoming and«home“y. The bagels are delicious and fresh everyday. Their food is very tasty and affordable, and there is so much variety. The staff is always happy and courteous to me and I always look forward to my weekly trip for bagels. I would recommend BT to anyone in the area.

We always order bagels to stay here and the bagels are usually pretty good only a few times did we have any issues. One time the owner took our order and he himself forgot to bring out one bagel and took him forever to bring it out. More recently. we ordered a side of eggs and they never brought it out, after finishing our bagels I had to go ask for it. Moreover, I now learned to never get my everything bagel toasted here because they always burn it and I am tired of eating a burned bagel. Overall, the bagels are delicious here you just have to stay on your toes with how you order your food and whether or not it gets to you the way you ordered it. I can honestly say I have had more positive visits here than bad.

Had been a regular here for about 2 years. Gave them a lot of business. Tipped generously. Gave them a fairly positive review last November. Then, about 2 weeks or so ago, came«The Happening». Mom and dad were visiting from out of town. Dad and I drove over to bring back a quick lunch. Place was quiet; only a few tables occupied and there was nobody on line. We placed 3 routine sandwich orders to go with«Sullen Girl»(she of the vacant stare). After a few minutes, an older lady brought out 2 of the sandwiches on trays, to stay. I politely told her we ordered them to go. She spins around in a huff as though I had spit in her face, and once behind the counter commences to LOUDLY complain about my dad and I to Sullen Girl. The two of them then begin LOUDLY complaining together that we had the audacity to order the food to stay, then change our minds. We didn’t. My dad clearly said«to go» when Sullen Girl asked him. At this point, a third, very short employee completely uninvolved in any of the above passes by them, and decides he too should throw himself into the chorus of what bad, bad people my father and I are, because he too could have sworn we said the food was to stay, not go. At this point, I politely asked them to focus less on the attrocities bestowed upon them by an unfeeling universe, and more towards placing the sandwiches into plastic containers to go. I remind the Court of Unilocal,we were the only customers in the restuarant placing orders. There was no chaos, there was little else going on. I also point out, despite my sardonic tone on here, my father and I were EXCEEDINGLY polite and deferential to the staff during all of this, as we’ve been everywhere else in the world! After a prolonged delay, older lady hands us a bag with the 2 sandwiches to go. We ask her about the 3rd sandwich we had ordered, which is not in the bag. As the sweet, shining, naked baby Jesus as my witness, this was her response to us: «Well I can’t help you, I didn’t take your order.» This was spoken in the same tone often reserved for the phrase, «Maybe you should just go f*ck yourself, stupid.» Eventually, Third Employee asked if we needed help. We told him we did not receive our 3rd sandwich. He informs Sullen Girl, she who was so desperately sure of herself earlier, who checks her pad, and realizes she forgot to even enter that order to the kitchen. When we got home, there were MANY mistakes with 2 of the 3 sandwiches(wrong bread, wrong sides, tomatoes when none were requested, etc). Glorious. As the day wore on and I replayed what had happened in my head and worked my inner self up into a frothing maniac, I did something I’ve done maybe twice in my entire life: I called the restaurant and asked to speak with a manager. A guy named Tommy, I believe. I relayed to him what happened in detail. He said all of the appropriate things… he was angry, he was mortified, he would be speaking with the staff members, he would be calling the monthly meeting a week early to address what had happened, this is not the kind of place he runs, lunch was on him if I come back, etc. Much appreciated, Tommy, even if it was B.S.(it felt sincere). I will NEVER be back.

Look, I’m not one to really ‘trash’ any establishment, but I’m only going on what I saw at this place. I went there twice. The first time was fine, but the other time I went, I noticed exterminators leaving this establishment. After talking to a former employee who is a friend of mine, it was well known within this Bagel Talk that there were cockroach issues. I haven’t been back since. Things may have changed and I understand that stuff happens but the visual of seeing what I saw doesn’t really leave a positive feeling inside of me about this Bagel Talk.

I have always gone out of my way to get my bagels from bagel talk. I have noticed that recently they have really been slacking. The bagels still taste great, but they are very sloppy in all other areas. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese to go & when I got into the car I noticed that the cream cheese was barely on the bagel & hardly any on the other side of the bagel. I went again another time and the cream cheese had a sour taste! I would suggest that the manager/owner be a little more involved with the staff and check to make sure all things are running the way they should or people will go back to bagel world. There is absolutely no pride given in this place.
