Yorktown Bagels & Bialys

Can’t believe how high some of the reviews are for this spot. Bagels are mediocre at Best but the staff is extremely unfriendly. felt like an inconvenience. On top of that how can you have a bagel place with no breakfast sandwiches. no bacon egg and cheese. Place is cash only and has hardly any seating just a bar upfront.
Won’t be returning.

Excellent bagel place. Hands down the best bagels around. Absolutely amazing and the tuna is to die for. Wouldn’t eat anywhere else but here for bagels and tuna…

I love these bagels. It is my go-​to bagel place. Sometimes the staff are nice, and then sometimes they’re not so nice. You could be the only customer in there and they say hi or you’re ignored. It’s really a crap shoot, sometimes it’s better when they’re busy and keep moving. I have to give it a 4 because the bagels are amazing, but lost a star because of the service and the occasional mistakes on my order, and I usually only get about 3 bagels.

Hands down the best bagel I have had in years. Perfect!!!

So let me start by saying the bagels are warm and delicious. That being said the service is incomprehensible. I have never been made to feel like I’m inconveniencing somebody like that in my life. There is an older woman there who refuses to say good morning refuses to give you a total amount and refuses to have any personality. She is beyond rude. I went one time before and chalked it up to maybe she was having a bad day but I just left there today and refuse to give them my money ever again because her customer approach is shameful. And not for nothing it’s 2015 invest in the ability to have people to swipe their cards for gods sake nobody carries cash keep up with the times out with the old and in with the new.

I picked up three dozen bagels to take to work the other morning. The ladies were very gracious and helpful. The staff at Brookdale College really enjoyed their bagels and wanted to know what shop they came from! Keep up the good work and thank you!!!

Best bagels I’ve ever had but the ladies working behind the counter are super nasty. You know that as soon as you leave they are talking about you. Weekends and early mornings are super busy with a line out the door but it moves quickly. Cash only.

First time there on my way somewhere. My wife went in and said is was a small shop not very friendly but the bagels looked pretty good. I am a bagel maven so am very critical. They were good but could use a little more baking. Make them darker and less doughy on the inside. The outside had a nice shiny skin but too light. Good overall and will try them again.

The bagels are very tasty with excellent texture and consistency. My only gripe which is why I only gave them 3 stars is that they are a little stingy with the toppings leaving them almost bare…
Other than that they’re the best.

Bagels are very good here! I always get sesame toasted with scallion cream cheese. Cash only and very reasonable. Even if there is a long line it moved relatively fast.

Havnt ate my bagel yet but those old granny’s need to be a little nicer. As for now grandmas get one star.

Best bagels I’ve had anywhere. Better than any one I’ve had in NY too. I grew up here and missed them when I moved away. Always came back when I was visiting and happy to be living nearby again!

The ladies here maybe a little stiff at times, but they will get you what you ask for and over time they warm up to you. Aside from that, the most important factors are that the bagels and bialys are terrific. Light and doughy with a good crust. The bagels hold up for hours and toasted they hold up for days.

Best bagels in the area by far. Warm, fresh bagels and a variety of cream cheeses. Very reasonable prices. I have had no issues at all with the staff. Definitely go!

These bagels are really delicious but the ladies behind the counter are awful. I’ve never gotten a bagel there without being treated like I was interrupting their Passover dinner to ask them to toast my cinnamon raisin bagel.

I love their bagels. The store could use a facelift and a formal seating area with a waitress. They also have fake kosher certificates hanging up. I don’t know why, because anyone who keeps kosher knows that this place does not meet the strict kosher standards. Such as they operate on Shabbos and they do not have a Rabbi overseeing their operation at all times. It doesn’t matter to me. I just found it really interesting.
