Clean, comfy, cozy, nice! Owners are very helpful, friendly and accommodating. Nice prices. Great restaurants all around that serve great food and friendly staff/owners.

This is a hidden gem! The rooms are cabin like and clean! The town and people living there are very friendly. Todd is an amazing host. Don’t forget to hit the wolf creek restaurant for a drink and dinner. We stayed on New Years eve and it was a winter wonderland! They are also very dog friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who is seeking refuge from the city!

I love this place. Totally clean. Quiet. AND a nice easy chair with a floor lamp so reading a book at night is comfy. Ali’s Café next door is a great place for breakfast and lunch.

Stayed here for Memorial Sunday. Was spotless. Owner lady was so nice. A rustic place. Very close to the hot spring. Plan to go back next weekend.

Not that there are many places to stay in Markleeville, but I would go out of my way to stay here again. Without asking, the owner made sure we had a room away from the road. The room was just right for us. It was tastefully decorated and the lodge had everything we needed. It is right in the middle of the cutest town ever. Things shut down early but we had plenty of time to go to dinner and take a walk through town.

We spent a very comfortable, quiet night in a nicely decorated, clean room in this picturesque town. All the basic amenities are provided. Creekside Lodge is a perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about local businesses and activities. Ali’s Café, right next door, is open early for breakfast and the Cutthroat Bar is on the other side for dinner and drinks.

I’ll give it 4 stars because the rooms are very nicely decorated, owner was super friendly and accommodating, it is priced right, and it is located in the middle of town. There is also free wi-fi. Motel is really cute and has a laundry and room with coffee pot and microwave that you can use. Free ice. That said, this room did not work for us, a family of four with two young children. I’m not sure what my husband was thinking booking it at the time(he booked it some time ago so didn’t remember that it had only a king bed). The room is tiny. Barely room in it for the bed. The owner brought out a futon so that helped but there was really no room for the four of us to move around. There is no dedicated parking. The lot next to the motel belongs to the restaurant next door. No TV essentially(just something to be aware of if you have kids like ours). Also, it is located in the middle of town. OK so I put that as a plus earlier. Honestly, there really isn’t much to Markleeville. Being in the middle of town doesn’t buy you any convenience except that it was super easy going across the street to the general store and the deli. Plus being located right next to the only saloon in town is not the most desirable thing if you have early bedtimes like we do. The very loud motorcyles did not help either. I guess this is a popular cyclist hangout. Who knew?

I highly recommend this motel! Rooms are clean & nicely decorated in a mountain cabin style. Very friendly owner with lots of tips & recommendations. Great wifi connection, which is important when your phone has no service. This is our first visit to Markleeville, love it, we’ll be back!

This is probably my favorite small town hotel. It’s clean, cozy, and comfortable. The people who greeted us were quite friendly. The rooms were small, but very well decorated… and so clean!(It’s worth repeating.) Stay here, it’s great.

Creekside Lodge is great! Rooms are small but really clean and nicely decorated. Our room did not have any kitchen amenities, but between our ice chest and nearby restaurants(and I mean nearby, like next door and across the street!) we did just fine. Jeanne and Todd are the best – knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and accommodating. Bring your favorite summer read, sit on the porch and sip a bev. Markleeville is a fun location with great summer activities and loads of people-watching.

This is a very nice surprise for a place like Markleeville which is «out in the sticks». They have 12 rooms, prices are $ 97.90 for a full size bed and $ 108.90 for a king. I have stayed here twice, last weekend, and 2 years ago. Both times I found the place to be very clean and in «like new» condition when I arrived, the décor is nice and approropriate for the area. The staff is very friendly and accomdating. Right next door is a nice restaurant that serves breakfast and dinners(the only meals I did there), in the same building as the restaurant is the Cutthoat Saloon, a nice bar that had live music the Friday night we were there. We got the feeling the whole town was there(well, some of the 200 people that occupy Markleeville). Right across the street is a little market… and even an unattended gas station if you need to fill up… but don’t expect more from this cute little town than that. This is one of those towns that if you blink while passing through downtown, you’ll miss it completely. I was able to get free internet for ½ hour, but there was a fee after that. The only down-side I can see for some people(not for me), is that they do not have air conditioning in the rooms. I highly recommend the place.

For the price, it’s a bargain and the amenities are really nice($ 86/night for full size bed, $ 96/night for king size), none of that double-occupancy crap. It looks like it had a recent remodeling and such nice touches in the room with hand-made quilt bedspread, comfy club chair covered in upholstery with moose figures and a modern, upgraded bathroom — towels are white and fluffy too. So very clean and homey. Next door is the bar/restaurant and the food is great, staff very friendly; had dinner and breakfast there. Four miles from the Grover Hot Springs, across the street from the local market and deli and I also called upon a local masseuse for a much needed massage(her info posted at the market).
