Pyramid Rock Beach

Pyramid Rock Beach is a great place to watch the sunrise. It’s not overly crowded like other beaches around the island and the sand is so soft. There are lifeguards on duty here, which I like a lot.
The waves are pretty big, so be careful. I’m a decent swimmer but got eaten up by 2 big ones. I was done after that.
It seems like a good place to surf, but I like this place more for a hang out/​scenic spot.

This place is allways too windy the surf is crappy and there is no chance getting quality surf here go to north shore.

A great low-​key beach, if you would like to get away from everyone, and just barbecue and enjoy a beach.

Great beach with lots of soft sand to lounge on. Not really a safe swimming beach for children as there is a strong current. If you know anyone that can get you on base this beach is worth a visit.

The beach is awesome! The only thing that sucks would be the waves are almost ALWAYS rough. Its always a yellow flag, so you cant really get in the water unless your a very experienced swimmer. I have only been there once where the water was calm and relaxing to just float.

I love coming to Pyramid Rock Beach because it is one of the best beaches on Oahu.
The waves can get pretty big. That’s when you see Marines or Sailors, or what have you, surfing and having a great time.
The pavilions can be rented to throw bbq’s or any type of social gathering. The pavilions are next to the beach. So you have food and the beach. It doesn’t get any better than that.
There are lifeguards on duty. They will occasionally sneak up on you on their ATV to inform you about the strong currents. They pretty much tell you to stay close to the shore if you’re going to swim. The waves are no joke, so just make sure you’re careful and always keep your eye on the ocean.
It’s pretty nice to come during the week because there is hardly anyone here. During the weekends expect it to be crowded.

I went to Pyramid Rock Beach today because of a recommendation from a coworker, and man am I glad I did. It wasn’t crowded, the waves were great for watching surfers (I don’t surf), and the views of the island were amazing. I also loved the fact that the wind wasn’t so strong that it blew sand everywhere. If you can get access to the Marine Corps base, this beach is a must visit. I would definitely recommend it. The only negative was the rocks in the water that prevent swimming.

Really nice beach. If you want to get away from the tourist and or locals, and you have a military ID I really suggest you go to this beach very nice relaxing place.
