They did a huge makeover about a year ago… it’s in Venice and the area is starting to be a lot safer! However, lots of homeless people hanging around and just yesterday witnessed an altercation with an individual that was definitely high on something loose his mind on an employee. They have a few security guards so it’s safe… Great product section and excellent selection of booze. I noticed the beer is cheaper at Vons… example is the big Sapporos are $ 1.00 less at Bons when buying two. Great deli and salad bar… the seafood is marginal compared to Vons. All and all… solid market in Venice!

I’ve come into this store for the 4th Sunday in a row at 6am to get some bakery items for breakfast and it’s the 4th time I’ve walked in here to see the bakery cabinet completely empty. I see about 6 people standing around talking to each other but nobody is baking. I asked the manager what the problem was and their answer was«we don’t have anyone scheduled to do that». What!!! I get 1 week, 2 weeks or even 3 weeks of not having enough staff, but to be 4 weeks without a baker is pathetic.

My overall experience at this Ralphs is generally pleasant. They have the best organic produce selection for the price, although I am hoping it continues to expand, and this is what brings us to this location. I have always found the staff to be friendly and helpful. This is no Whole Foods or Gelsons, but it’s a fine grocery store with fair prices and is open late.

Dirty store, bare shelves(the dairy dept. was out of milk tonight… seriously??), apathetic management and staff. Got serious food poisoning from the nasty store bakery, manager offered gift cards for those poisoned, then retracted offer and tried to change it. This douchebag store should go under just like Haggen in Santa Monica.

Today my loose sweatpants accidentally fell off inside of Ralph’s when I dropped an onion because I got a text and then tried to pick it up really fast. I was commando and a bit untamed. Everyone was super chill and didn’t panic by the fact that I almost blinded the whole store. When I got to the register, the checker pretended like it never happened and had a nice big smile. I still saved $ 14 with my Ralph’s card. That’s what I call great customer service! Their organic selection is great! #spreadinglove

Rude check out people and manager. Nikki, the check out person could not be bothered to work and check me out. She was busy doing her exercises at her register and telling me her«light was not on.». Asked to see the manager, Jose Flores, who was also rude and said Nikki was«just stretching her back.». Totally inappropriate activity. If you are working at this store, work and be cordial. They are all wearing sports jerseys for some unknown reason and goofing off. This is not the way to run a professional store! I will choose another grocery store from now on.

I walk to this Ralph’s daily and they always have everything that I need. I don’t buy produce here or meat, but I do buy a lot of other things. Prices are reasonable and the take-out deli and salad bar are very good. The salmon at the deli is excellent. The salad bar is excellent and fully stocked. They make an excellent soy-ginger dressing and a tomato-mozzarella salad. There are always plenty of lines open and shelves are fully stocked. They probably could improve on their floral department, but hey, it’s a market!

Seriously this Ralph’s can go eff itself. Waited in front at the front desk for someone to help me with Western Union — not only did no body come help me even after politely asking and then rudely being ignored, but there was a tiny sign that said western union is temporarily out of order. Thank you Ralph’s employees for clearly seeing me, ignoring me and not treating me like a human being. Fuck. you.

With only one item in hand, no one could check me out at customer service. Three cashiers came to the counter and asked if they could help. When I said I needed to check out, they said«ok» and walked away.

My wallet was stolen between the checkout line and my car. They barely helped look for it around the checkout line. They said they had camera’s and would look to see if they saw anything. No one ever came back. So they couldn’t be bothered by a theft on their own premises. I had fraud charges in under twenty minutes.

One of the better Ralphs around also easy in and out. Only thing they are always closing down the meat department early even though it says 9pm.

This is my favorite Ralphs store & it would have gotten 5 stars except for the fact that… The service at the meat/seafood counter is the worse I have seen in any market, any place, any time. There’s rarely anyone actually there, & I don’t think the«press for service» call-button is even hooked up because no one ever responds to it. Ever. And if one of the clerks is in the area they will look past & ignore you until you make it absolutely clear that you’re not standing at the counter because you have nothing better to do. I went in there at 5:30 last evening, waited & waited for«service», then was told by one of the store workers that the 2 counter workers had gone to lunch & didn’t know when they’d be back. Doesn’t it seem logical that you might want to have at least one clerk working while people are getting off work? I have complained to management at least 4 times now. One day I had to wait my turn to complain while another customer was bitching about the same awful service, or lack of. Then the manager(s) will look at you like they’re flabbergasted that something like this could happen before they get on the p.a. & call for someone to get over there. Unbelievable.

I’m always impressed by Ralphs employees, they are absolutely great. However, they outsource the security guard detail. At the Admiralty location, there’s a very creepy guy who follows women around leering at them. And last night at this location, the guard gave me a hard time for sitting in one of their patio-chairs for sale to tie my shoe! It was quite hilarious. I was tripping over the shoelace in the parking lot, it was late and dark, so I waited til inside to tie. it. I’m 55, so bending over is not that much fun. I’d sat in the chair for at most five seconds and was clearly just tying my shoe — the guard came over joking about how I must be «so tired.» Sheesh. Can you guys hire some security people who don’t make ladies insecure?

Bazil in Bakery provided exceptional customer service with special birthday large cupcake cake purchase. He was knowledgeable, patient, replaced a wilted strawberry with fresh, provided Happy Birthday add on and made shopping enjoyable. Management needs to recognize Bazil’s excellent work ethic as this is why keeps customers returning rather than shopping at other markets nearby such as Pavilion’s, Gelson’s, Bristol Farms, Whole Foods and even the Ralph’s on Admiralty Way a block away. Cheers for Bazil(sounds like basil)!

Trouble in shopping land! The good: The store itself(including the bathrooms) are actually quite acceptable. The bad: It’s the people where the wheels fall off. Some cashiers seem like the whole job is about them. Where do they find these teenage pink finger-nailed vacuum heads? And here’s the kicker: They’re getting ready to do away with bagging your groceries for you. You have to bring the bag, and now you have to pack it as well! Our adventure: The place was busy and most of the registers were busy when we were there last Sunday afternoon, and there wasn’t ONE single bagger. EVERYONE had to bag their own goods. And our pink finger-nailed cashier didn’t make a move to assist. In fact, she started tossing the next customer’s items down the belt even though our groceries were still there. And when we finally finished separating our stuff from the next guys and got it all bagged up OURSELVES, we sought out the manager to have a word. And she LIED! I said«Look! Everyone here is having to bag their own groceries» She said: «I’m sorry, there are several staff helping people to their cars». Ok, that could happen. NOTSO! When we went outside to our car and looked around, there were NORALPHS personnel in the lot. You’ll all be bringing your own filthy bags and bagging your own groceries at Ralphs, very soon. It’s not a big thing, but it’s just one more service debit. And that’s not good because it seems that we’re heading for a «No Service Service Economy».

Well organized clean Ralph’s location. They have a great bakery and the staff is awesome, friendly and helpful… much appreciated! I don’t shop here often because I have a grocery store closer to home but when I do, I’m always well taken care of. They usually have multiple checkstands open and it’s nice not to have to wait forever, especially if I’m just getting a few things.

I had an appointment in the area and had some time to kill and figured I would walk into the Supermarket that is at the base of a multimillion dollar housing/apartment complex. I figured I would an incredible selection of meat and other items directed toward the cliental that lives only feet away. What I found was the same options at any other Supermarket. The lay out of the market was nice but nothing spectacular. I did attempt to use the Lottery kiosk in the store to pick numbers and it was out of service. There is no reason for me to come back here. If I was in the Venice area and heading back home and passed this place I might stop here. The parking lot of this Ralphs shares its lot with a HUGE housing complex.
