My wife and I went there on a Thursday night at 6pm for the first time. We made reservations and were seated immediately with no waiting at all. The server was extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about everything. I have to believe he was an owner or partner maybe based on the experience. I had the Grilled Angus Delmonico, cooked medium rare perfectly. The potatoes were delicious and salad had just the right amount of twang. My only criticism, however slight, was the steak was a bit more fatty than I’d hoped. It was still amazing and did not take away from the meal. My wife had the Bouillabaisse and she raved about how delicious it was; eating it all quite quickly I might add. She then ordered the crème brûlée for dessert and also mentioned how good it was. I did not have any dessert. The draft and bottle list was extensive and I was able to find some things I haven’t had before which is always a plus. The atmosphere was calming and romantic with great lighting and really good music playing in the background. Prices are very reasonable for fine dining and you can find something from a variety of price points so it can be an expensive night or not based on your dinner selections. I don’t give 5 stars so if there was a way to give a half star I would give this 4.5 stars. HIGHLY recommended for date night or just drinks in the basement bar, Perry Street Cellar, which will be our next choice since we didn’t go down there the first time.

Excellent restaurant in a quaint location. The building and architecture is stunning, nestled along quiet Front Street. Service was prompt, we were seated immediately. Our waiter, Nick, was friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. I started with Proscuitto Mac & cheese. Excellent, creamy with a hint of bleu cheese, the panko breading on top made the whole dish. Followed with the Delmonico steak. A hearty 14 oz cut, cooked to perfection with a tasty seasoning. A finer steak you’ll be hard pressed to find. My mom had the cauliflower risotto with shrimp, she raved about it. We both completely cleared our plates. I would recommend skipping desert. Both my s’mores cheesecake and my mother’s apple crisp were simply average and served for show, not really worth the price. All in all an excellent restaurant with great food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Worth a trip to Marietta.

The place itself is super cute and has a lot of character. We first went on a Saturday night and it was super busy. The food didn’t come out quite right but we ate it anyways. After, the manager reached out to us, apologized, and encouraged us to come back and try again. So we did! The second time was even better. The staff was very nice. And the food was delicious. Overall, it’s a great business. They made a mistake, but took the extra step to do the right thing. We will definitely be back.

Great find! Charming atmosphere in a historic building(circa 1880s would be my guess). Good food, friendly service, great beer selection. Loses 1 star because prices are just a touch high. For example, 3 deviled eggs(which is really an egg and a half) each with a pinch of chorizo, $ 7. We ate in the basement bar. It is the perfect grown up bar. No tvs. No autotuned pop music, or pounding bass that would shake the building from its foundation. Just good tunes at a volume easily spoken over. I had the Polenta sticks, autumn pasta. Yum! My husband had the deviled eggs and a burger. He was pleased with both.(There isn’t enough money in the world for me to eat hard boiled eggs.) There is no doubt that we will return. It’s just that good.

Seasonal food not your typical Amish fare/choices which worked perfectly for us! The staff was minimal on a Sunday evening but you barely knew it. They were friendly and attentive especially to the specific details of our order. The menu looked so amazing we had trouble choosing! Our order started with the Estate Salad, which had parsnips, leeks and pomegranate seeds and the unbelievable beet salad which had a delicious vinaigrette, three varieties of beets, fabulous beet salt & other details to tempt your palate. For the main course, we shared an appetizer portion of cauliflower risotto because we couldn’t resist and we’re glad we couldn’t! Also prepared to perfection was the wagyu burger with truffle fries & the pork loin with diced savory apples. We ended up taking dessert to go so we could enjoy it at our leisure but felt we couldn’t miss out on a s’mores treat! It was marshmallow cheesecake with toasted marshmallows, graham crackers, chocolate sauce & maybe a praline crumble. The drink & beer menu was truly tempting & seasonal as well! And the ambiance made us feel like we were in our own turn of the century train compartment. The only reason this was a 4 instead of a 5 is because guests sitting at a table in fairly petite room was having a full volume FaceTime call with their daughter who was home sick. I was disappointed the conversation was not encouraged to end or be taken in private, rather than at the dinner table in a public restaurant with other guests, by one of the staff members. Hearing the hacking cough & details of her ailments certainly took away from our enjoyment. But other than the guests feeling TOO at home… it was a true treat!

We’ve been back since the grand opening. Hardest part is choosing, RR or McClearys. Freddi, Dani, Joey are doing a great job. The downstairs Perry Street Pub is now open and was packed on opening night. DJ and I went upstairs and bellied up with Freddi behind the bar. Dani was hustling on the floor and behind the bar. They make it happen. The menu and bevs are exceptional and this is a must do on your restaurant list. The dining room, the bar, the patio, the Pub, you can’t go wrong.

We’ve been here twice. Both times, we enjoyed the meal to an exceptional degree. Order the best beet salad or the burger. Both are surprisingly good. Good beers and drink offerings. Everything we have ordered has been well executed. The bar is beautiful and they’re adding a bar in the cellar. It’s a cool historical building inhabited by a talented chef and smart owners. It’s rustic and unique in atmosphere. The owners are usually around and very passionate about ensuring you get the best service and food.

We love the new RR house! If I’m going out to eat in the Lancaster area, this is usually my first choice. I give it four stars only because I think the portions are a little bit small for the price on some plates and it’s difficult convincing some in my party to go here for that reason, but the food is inventive and consistently very, very good. The staff here is wonderful!

A few friends and I had brunch on their patio and absolutely devour everything! The food is amazing, as well as the service and atmosphere. If you get brunch — the pancakes are something out of this world. Based on my first experience here, I will be back to definitely try their lunch and dinner menu!

Food here is simply wonderful. Had the avocado crab salad and oyster sliders. The salad gets the 5. 4 for the sliders. But the beer selection, and bartender knowledge(erin) are simply the divine difference maker here. Décor is simple, yet pleasant; environment is casually refined, service was attentive, yet unobtrusive; and the food and drink were fantastic. I’ll be back.

Our second visit to the Railroad House gave us the chance to take new friends. We were happy to meet Joey, a partner in the restaurant. Joey was skilled with explaining the cuisine and very personable, adding to our experience. Every suggestion he made was spot on and actually better than he described. One question we had on a side dish led to him surprising us with a comped sample. The quality and portion sizes more than justified pricing. This place is a must!

This was my first, and certainly not last time that I go to Railroad House Inn. Easily one of the best meals I have had in the Lancaster area. We ate in a booth in the main dining room. I really liked the steampunk-esque décor. We definitely came for the drinks as much as we did the food, so we ordered cocktails first. The cocktails we ordered with wonderful and delicious. I also ordered a can of St. Boniface Paideia Pale Ale. I’m always concerned when I order hoppy beers by the bottle or can at restaurants, because they might not be fresh. This can was perfectly fresh, so my fears were averted. The food we ordered was fantastic. I personally had the Crisp Salmon tacos which reminded me of a salmon roll in taco form. Loved them. I also had the Grilled Gulf Shrimp for my main course, which was lovely as well. I’m not normally a dessert guy, but the rhubarb cake I ordered was delicious. I have no complaints about the service. Our waitress was lovely and made sure we had everything we needed when we needed it. All in all, I would highly recommend this place. It would be perfect for dinner or a night out for drinks.

My husband and I decided to try this place out tonight. Great experience. Service was great! Food was excellent! We had the duck confit tacos, veal, and ribeye. All done to perfection! So good! We also loved the honey butter served with the rolls. I look forward to coming back as they expand their menu.

Amazing atmosphere, creative drink specials, and great wine and beer list! We stopped in just for a drink and will definitely be going back for dinner. So glad there is now another great option for dinner and drinks in Marietta. Really a place you have to check out!

Good food, good beer, and good times. It’s the upscale version of McCleary’s down the road. I was never there pre-renovation, but the new interior is great. It has a rustic, old-world charm that goes great with the menu. I’ll be back next time I’m in the area.

Amazing food, even better drinks, and excellent service. I’ve tried all the«go-to» places in Lancaster, and this is now my go-to spot. The ownership knows what to do and what its clients want: awesome beer and wine selection and the seasonal ingredients never fail. Don’t leave without trying the Riverflower cocktail! Can’t wait to visit the courtyard in the summertime.

First off, this place is NOTCLOSED. It recently re-opened under new(fantastic) ownership! The place has been totally redone on the inside, and they did it right! A mix of rustic and modern gives this place a fantastic vibe. The menu is on the upscale side, with decent prices. It is short, but done right. They have some fantastic beer on tap, with plans on expanding to 18 taps(if I remember correctly) in the near future. They are also working on finishing a second(much larger) bar area downstairs. One word sums up every aspect of this place… fantastic. Give it another couple months and I assure you it’s going to be hard to get a dinner reservation. Well done.
