We wre out on a Sunday drive admiring the coutryside and stopped in to grab lunch. Server was very friendly and the food was excellent. I had an amazing meat lover’s stromboli and my wife had a very good wrap. I would have given 5 stars but they had 2 very large groups come in and fill the entire place and only 1 poor waitress. We kind of got held hostage trying to leave. She did her best and by the time we left they had 2 more servers arrive that they called to help get her caught up. Great team work and a very pleasant experience overall!

The only reason this place doesn’t have a higher rating is because the people who have great experiences here(which is 99%) are not the type to go online and review– older. We, however, just moved to Wrightsville and didn’t let the low reviews scare us off(although it was close.) But we had breakfast here– which was pretty good, as good as breakfast can be, and the prices were FANTASTIC– but WOW! We came back for dinner tonight because we accidentally drove past another place we were going to try. Our expectations weren’t high because of the low ratings, but we were thrilled. For $ 13.99, my husband got one of the best steaks he’s ever had– and it was MASSIVE! Even I loved it, and I am not even a steak fan. I got the seafood casserole for 10.75, with real crab in it(told you the prices were fantastic!) and it tasted like a delicious crab cake smothered in cheese. The salad was fresh, nothing fancy, but very good and very large for a side salad. The French onion soup was definitely homemade and really good. Our son’s cheeseburger was not a typical«kid’s meal» cheeseburger, where they throw the nastiest, smallest patty they have on the grill, burn it to a crisp and throw it on a stale bun. It was delicious and the size of a regular burger! Even the ice cream was some kind of homemade concoction. They have lots of cheaper options as well, most under $ 10. Oh, and our server was kind and attentive. The only con was the slightly smoky smell from the bar next door. We are fine dining fans, so we are pretty picky. This place was probably the best value-for-the-money I’ve ever come across, and I think we will become regulars. I had a theory that the bad reviews posted must have been from local yokels who didn’t want«outsiders» coming into their little gem. Granted, it was pretty empty when we were there both times, so maybe waitresses aren’t as attentive and food gets messed up when it gets super busy– I can’t say. All I know is that we’ve been there twice and had great experiences both times– for REALLY cheap, if that matters– so for what it is– a «mom and pop» establishment with a separated bar that might not be so nice(I didn’t visit it), it is awesome.

Great breakfast, best pizza, very reasonable prices, friendly and efficient waitresses. Check out their wraps and the burgers are good too. Our«regular» spot, especially breakfast.

Eh. Nothing special. I had a sausage, egg and cheese bagel with hash browns. The bagel was burned on one side so i had to pick that off. The hash browns were also burned but only slightly. They weren’t bad, just sort of bland. Also my husband had ordered a water and the water tasted awful. Almost like salt water. Not sure what that was about but we just spilt my soda. Probably won’t be coming back. Not really any thing special. Our waitress was very nice though so there’s that.

Garbage food. Garbage service. I got an inedible bacon cheeseburger with bacon so tough I could’ve made a wallet out of it. One of the guys at my table got a salad that was half rotten. Drinks were NEVER refilled. Piss poor service and attitude from our service. Seemed like we got curb service for not being locals.

Terrible! I entered through the bar side not knowing it was separate from the rest of the diner. The bar was smokey and there were a few crack whores and derelicts at the bar. The roast beef was dry underneath the gelatinous brown gravy. I order mashed potatoes and never got them after asking several times. I also ordered the applesauce and was excited for homemade but it was clearly jarred sauce. We asked several times for water and beers but were ignored. I finally walked across the diner and into the dive bar to get water and beers for our table! I’m not sure why the waitress wrote anything down bc each time she returned to the table she had incorrect items or not enough of an item for our table! We won’t be back and I hope that the little bit I ate there does not come back to haunt me later. Nastiest dinner I ever had.

decent place for breakfast. got there at about 8:30 am on a sunday which apparently was just in the knick of time — place really started filling up right after that. coffee was pretty good and they kept the refills a-comin. i had a broccoli and cheese omelette with hash browns and it was good. husband got a sausage and cheese omelette and he wasn’t overly thrilled with it — said the sausage tasted like the sausage you get as a pizza hut topping! weird, i know. doubt that this place will make it into our regular rotation but it is a cheap sunday am option for when hinkle’s doesn’t open til 11AM and no breakfast…
