This place gets 4 stars alone for music selection. Over a couple of beers and a burger I managed to hear the Cure, Psychadelic Furs, Echo and the Bunnymen, Depeche Mode, Billy Idol, Smiths, etc. not to mention getting in an episode or two of CHiPs and Mama’s Family. Anyway, been meaning to try this place and was pleased. I love being able to get a strong stout or porter on draft and they provided it. I also finally had a burger with an egg on it that was tasty without being a hot mess at the same time.

Food was really good. Sampled several items off menu. We tried a salad, fried green tomatoes, and pork sliders for appetizers. Then scallops and grits with a side of pork & brussel sprouts for main meal. The scallops were chopped into small pieces, I’m guessing for quicker cooking, but that was a bit disappointing bc I prefer lightly seared whole scallops versus well cooked, chopped scallops. But the fried green tomatoes and pork slider were delish, and the ambiance of this small, shopping center establishment is really nice. Cute place for a night out. Beer selection is great. I was able to order Monday Night, which I normally only purchase at Whole Foods.

I just went to this place for the first time and loved it! I will most certainly be back! Reasonable prices, great service and quality food! The drink specials were also awesome! They have the best home made sauces too, especially their ranch! I would highly recommend this place!

I am pulling for this place because I can see what he’s trying to do and the efforts going into the food. I appreciate the creativity and true craftsmanship of the dishes. But that being said, I would like to see a dialing down if the pork fat. It’s a great flavor, no doubt, but doesn’t need to be added to everything! I’d also like to see more gluten free options. There was no dessert that I could order. I had the Brussels sprouts, which were great! Nicely charred, great flavor, cooked just right. It’s rare to find Brussels sprouts on any menu, so I jumped at the chance to have them at lunch. Service at the table was bright and cheery, but the food came out very slowly considering that we were the only two people in there ordering food. All told, I would recommend this place and I really hope it succeeds.

Gotta say that a little more attention to detail would really knock things out of the park. End cap space in a busy, so-so strip is not exactly destination dining as is, so all the bonus points count. Double. The spicy hushpuppies are a great starter, especially with the good craft beer selection, but the house salads are also a notch above with the ridiculous house made dressings. The ranch is a throwback herby bomb of fun, for example. Entrees are sparse but feature high-quality components. The scallops and grits($ 14) are familiar, yet rocked it well. The flank steak and frites($ 18) another classic prep, but one which revealed some break downs. Bottomline the steaks — three orders — arrived properly cooked, but luke warm, suggesting they were held too long. Don’t know what the hold up was, but something was fired in the wrong order. Couple that with the wait for entrees seemed maybe a few minutes too long conclusion — something went sideways in the kitchen. Not horribly so – still wonderfully flavorful steaks cooked up right, just lacking that plated up sizzle. My takeaway is that maybe the single component, simple stuff is the way to go – burgers and such. In any event, I plan to swing by again to find out. Joints doing this sort of fare are fairly rare still in East Cobb.

We really enjoy this little place. It’s a small, pleasantly laid out restaurant specializing in craft beer and a small menu. The beer list is always great and the food is quite nice. The Southern Poutine is one of my favorites. The staff is super friendly and a joy to be around. Even if you’re not hungry, it’s a fun place just sit around and enjoy a beer in. The TV playing old Batman episodes is always nice as well. I feel like this restaurant gets overlooked often and it shouldn’t. It’s a great local addition doing a lot of fun and tasty things with their menu. If you’re a meat and beer lover, this is definitely the place for you to stop.

Love coming here for drinks. The staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. And while this is a wonderful neighborhood bar scene the same can’t be said about the food. Tonight I ordered the special(duck confit with house made trofie pasta, sweet summer corn, shaved Brussels, charred tomatoes and Parmesan) $ 20 My dish not come with the Parmesan garnish. Which thank goodness it didn’t. This dish was way over salted. Duck confit was incredibly dry. Pasta undercooked. Tomatoes lacked that«char» flavor. The corn was a horrible attempt to balance the meal. Overall some kind of herb/s was indefinite need to pull everything together. In the end if you’re coming here for drinks at the bar(Please get the hush puppies-which are absolutely some of the best I’ve ever had. Paired with their pimento cheese) it’s a great perfect way to close the night. The food is under whelming. However they’ve got a great beer and wine selection. It can be a bit pricey and I do wish they had more of a draft selection.

I stopped by here for dinner and a drink recently. I saw the reviews posted on Unilocal and decided to give his place a visit. It’s kind of hidden away in a corner of a strip mall, so I probably wouldn’t have heard of it otherwise. I wouldn’t really call it a tavern. It doesn’t have the feel of a pub or tavern, but is really just a small restaurant that happens to specialize in serving craft beers. It’s relatively small, with about six or eight tables and about the same number of seats at a bar. It’s pleasant to sit inside, and it’s nice to read the current beer selections and specials on chalkboards. There is a television behind the bar that was playing a Batman episode from the 60’s. I really would have liked to see something different from that campy TV series. I really enjoyed eating here for a couple of reasons. They have some really interesting menu items that are well prepared. I had the Southern Poutine, which was pulled pork over fries with a hot spicy sauce. It was something I never had before and was tasty, but a little bit of a small portion to call an entrée. The beer selection is also really nice. They have about six or so beers on tap, all high quality craft beers, and quite a few other craft beers in bottles. I had a Breckenridge Double IPA for $ 5.95 in a 12 oz glass. Not too bad of a price. The appetizer menu is really good, and the hush puppies I order were excellent. They were slightly crispy on the outside and moist on the inside with just a little bit of sweetness. You have to order these, and they were only $ 1.95.

Hoof & Ale is truly a gastropub. I have checked-in for dinner/supper enough times to have learned that their Chef’s daily Specials are really interesting and very good. The daily specials and their regular menu items make this gastropub one of my neighborhood favorites. They rotate their featured draft brews, so one may find a favorite has been rotated-out. Today, a favorite was gone, but I enjoyed a draft pour of New Holland Sundog Amber Ale, from Holland Michigan(who thinks up these names?). This pub has several daily lunch specials, too. Give this place a try!

Tried this place because it was not a chain. Very happy we did. Very kool thing happened. The chef after saying hello while passing by grabbed some fresh green onion from the little potted garden outside. Menu is one that has plenty to sample on future visits. Scallop and grits was excellent(wife) along with my burger.(Mine) Will be back soon.

I feel that this place is a hidden gem. A great menu and beer selection. The food is original and they have specials throughout the week. I’m somewhat reluctant to recommend it because once you go you’ll be back and I don’t want it to get too crowded. This is one of those places that deserves a lot more attention and I hope it stays around a long long time. The staff has always been great.

First trip into Georgia and wish we lived in the area. Casual atmosphere and excellent food. We went with lots of starts and happy we did. The mac and cheese with pork belly is a must. Highly recommend the hush puppies with pimento cheese or pork tacos with jalapeño slaw.

First trip won’t be the last one! Went on a Saturday night and the place was empty which is not always a good sign. After eating there I am convinced that it is because of the location as the food was great, the beer selection first rate and the service terrific. We are planning on going back again this weekend to try some other items on the menu. If they are as good as the first visit Hoof & Ale may be our new go to spot.

I am a regular at the Hoof and I have yet to be disappointed. Their food is always delicious– no matter what it is. I always love to get the salad with grilled zucchini and hush puppies, my fiancé is a sucker for the chicken strips, whenever they have specials they are always top notch– most recently their salmon special: phenomenal. The staff is always on point– Aaron and Cassie are polite, diligent, and fun. The owner is awesome and always great with all customers who come in the door. As for the beer: it’s always changing, always awesome, and they make sure their is something for everyone. I always recommend the Hoof to my friends and always will!

I’ve been here twice now and I’m a big fan of this place! Everything has been super delicious. The chicken skins are amazing and their homemade pickles are outstanding! The burgers are excellent. They have some really yummy desserts too. Service has been very good both times we’ve been. I really can’t think of anything that I didn’t like about this place. It’s an awesome little n’hood joint with way better than average food. I highly recommend it.

Finally got to try out Hoof and Ale. Great local and craft beers. Hush puppies were amazing! I had the salmon with veggies– it was delicious, I just wish the salmon was cooked all the way through. Husband had Cuban with pork belly and it had a lot of the fat in it(pork belly is fatty, I get that… But this was big ol’ chunks in a sandwich). Family friendly establishment with decent food. Minus 1 star for server not asking temp preference of salmon(unless this was an oversight on my part and everyone prefers medium rare?!) and the price seemed high for what we got. $ 60 for my salmon dish, Cuban sandwich, kids meal, hush puppy app and 2 beers. We might go again.

My friends who are absolutely obsessed with this place took us here. And I will say, I love this place too! It is such a chill place but with excellent food. I love how kid friendly the place is — they even had special cups for the kids(that aren’t made of the cheap plastic kids cups usually are!). My son devoured his food. I got the tacos and really enjoyed them. Their hush puppies are TODIEFOR. Unfortunately my son would only let me eat half of one because he kept wanting to eat them! I am looking forward to my next visit. Just FYI — their bathrooms are very clean. I have a toddler that I recently potty trained and he had to go to the restroom several times during dinner and I am so glad this place has clean bathrooms. Just saying… in case you have a recently potty trained toddler too.

Excellent. So glad that we finally tried this place. Have been thinking about it forever but never quite made the move. The food was delicious and our waiter was very friendly and knowledgable. They have great specials and daily deals. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out.

Waited far to long to try this place! And can’t wait to go back! Spot on craft beer meets craft food(pork)! Ambiance was gastropub… Casual… Hipster. Staff was friendly and helpful! Everyone pitch in attitude. All who passed our table asked if we needed anything… I witnessed kitchen staff answering phone to assist dinner staff(early in the night) while a table of 20+ was essaying and ordering. Food was amazing! Especially the pork! Clearly it’s a pig hoof! I had the Cuban with pork belly and from the first bite it was amazing! Note: a lot of entrees are pork belly… That’s a lot of fatty meat for Americans… But that’s where the flavor is! Wife had the pulled pork slider. 2 was too much… It’s a big«slider». Basically 75% of a full traditional pulled pork sandwich. So 2 was too much for her! Especially with the hush puppies! Mmm! Price… Food prices we definitely reasonable! Beer prices spot on with a gastropub. Possibly a lil cheaper. Net net… I’m going back! If I need to I will update! Likely cause nobody gets my 5 star on one trip! But a few at this level may do it!

Ate here early during the week with a friend– ordered a Mother Earth Dunkel on draft that was so good. Their drink list is awesome! This place has a lot of potential and I’ll have to go back during a weekend when we’re not the only table. The waitress was polite and attentive and the complimentary popcorn they served was a nice pairing for our drinks. My friend ate steak and fries and she is still talking about how perfect it was. I had the breakfast burger(served with an egg and pork belly) and will definitely be getting that again– plus you can’t really screw up pork belly!
