The restaurant inside is decorated nice and feel comfortable. However food did not taste good. We tried a few items from menu. All food cooked so dull. This restaurant is missing highlights.

Great delivery and yummy lunch They even called to be sure I knew which foods were gluten free since we ordered both GF and regular entrees.

I had been here a few times and liked the food. But then, as Steve P. mentioned about the failed health inspection (who do they think they are? Checkers?), I certainly will not be back there.

This is as of 4.14.16 Hong Kong Star Chinese Cuisine in Marietta scored a 61 after officials noted food improperly stored, separated and labeled, according to the report. The hot and sour soup tasted watered down.

This place is really dirty! I found a bug in my soup and the waiters did nothing. Besides the bad taste, the customer service is not good. Go somewhere else

We used to love this place until tonight. Although the food is good overall, the waiters were annoying. One might complain about poor service. The service would have been excellent if the waiters did not interrupt conversation every two minutes. It felt like they were rushing us out the door. The perfect end to the evening was when my handicapped friend tripped on the rug and almost fell. The waiters and waitresses standing at the bar did not even bother to assist and make sure that she was ok. In addition, when I pulled my friends car to the entrance to make it easier for her, we were rudely told to move by teenagers that the restaurant had apparently hired to promote the Chinese New Year. Happy New Year Hong Kong Star… you just lost 3 loyal customers.

We moved from San Francisco over a year ago and had a hard time finding good Chinese food, except on Buford Highway. We think this is the best in East Cobb! Try the Firecracker Chicken.

great atmosphere looks actually pretty good for a Chinese restaurant at this price point. That being said, they served me bad chicken, I was polite and sent it back untouched except for the piece that I cut and ate. The waiter then comes and tells me that he is giving me a 50% discount. I told him to go back and take it off the bill. Moral of the story– this place had great potential, yet the management isn’t bright enough to understand decent customer service. I would have given this place another try if they weren’t so desperate to charge me for bad food. Now not only will I ever go back I will discourage anyone I know from going. Way to lose business!

Solid Chinese food for the area. It’s a clean and well decorated place. The delivery is convenient for us so it keeps us coming back.

Went here based on on other reviews. Had Kung Pao Shrimp, Tai Basil, vegetables, & tofu, steamed vegetable dumplings. Food taste was bland /borderline ok. Server was not very attentive. Kept forgetting items requested that normally are given or offered(lemon with water, straws with drinks, sauce for dipping fried wontons, etc.). Won’t be making any specials trips back. Would look at other choices prior to returning.

OK food. We had Szechuan beef, 3 star green beans, chicken fried rice, dumplings. The beef was greasy but flavorful. The fried rice had little bits of maybe chicken, decent dumplings. They charge extra for tea and brown rice. I’ve never had to pay extra for tea. Service was rude at best and kinda surly. We needed a extra set of utensils, had to ask twice and the guy brought it over without it being wrapped in a napkin– just in his bare hands. Totally gross. I used my daughter’s spoon to eat with.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in East Cobb. Classy, clean and excellent food. If you haven’t been, you are definitely missing a great experience.

Everything we ordered was delicious. The steamed pork dumplings were huge and very tasty. the best we have had in town. The Thai basil sauce is very good too as well as the Singapore curry noodles. Good value too. Would definitely order from again.

We loved the food. My husband is a an excellent cook and very particular about seasoning. He was was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. Worth the little extra you pay. We look forward to dining in and not having take out.

Hadn’t been here in quite some time, but were really in the mood for Chinese, so we stopped in for early dinner. The service was fantastic: fast and very attentive. The steamed pork dumplings were perfect, as was the shrimp tempura appetizer. Hot and sour soup was good too. Waiter even brought us to-go versions of our drinks without us asking. I really like the atmosphere and décor of this place too. And their wine list is very large and diverse. We will definitely be going back soon.

The hot & sour soup is good as well as the crab wontons. the chicken pad thai doesn’t have a lot of flavor though.

I’ve been on the hunt for great hot& sour soup and egg fu young since moving to Marietta. Should be easy right? So far 4 out of 4 bad-to-mediocre, until I tried Hong King Star. I ordered the house EFY thinking it was a bit expensive for a couple slivers of meat in the egg patties. Instead the patties sat on top of a layer of chicken, shrimp, beef, broccoli, and baby corn. The gravy was made with soy and not your typical canned gravy. It was really tasty. I will back back. What I will ask next time is whether there is MSG and what kind of oil. It they make this healthy, I would be a regular. The hot & sour soup was flavorful, but lacked vegetables. It was mainly thickened broth with tofu. Also salty. Delivery was fast and I live 6 miles away. I’ll next try Mongolian beef and pot stickers.

My favorite go-to for Chinese delivery. It has online ordering too so I don’t even have to talk to anyone and can wallow in my fat, anti-social ways in peace. I love their General Tso chicken, it had lots of broccoli. And the crab rangoons are the best and huge. The fried bananas are worth a try too. I think I’ll go order right now…

It’s a good Chinese place, but not for fried rice. Mongolian beef, chicken, and shrimp is nice except it should be called Mongolian chicken and beef(mostly beef) because I found only two shrimp. As for their friend rice– unfortunately it lacks taste; it’s very plain. Egg rolls are yummi, so is the Wonton soup. Overall not bad.
