Sunset is located at the north end of the seven mile bridge on the Atlantic side. Plenty of on site parking is available, however, on very busy days you may have to park alongside the street. Sunset is very casual with two dining experiences«inside» which is in the large tiki hut(still gives you a very outdoor feel) or «outside» which is by the pool. Be aware not all outside tables have umbrellas so if it’s sunny make sure you request an outside with umbrella. Food is keys casual with plenty of sushi and fish options as well as burgers and sandwiches. On this last visit no one had any complaints about their food choice, everything g was great. I had the taco salad which is served inside a fresh but fried tortilla shell. It was delicious. All sushi came out fast and was also terrific. Drinks are just ok. Next time I will stick to beer or wine as my mixed drinks came out different every time. Make sure to wear your bathing suits and check out the pool before you leave!

Where do I begin. I visited this restaurant on Memorial Day weekend with a few friends and we were really excited. The location was great and you could tell it gets popular at the time we went because it was right before the sunset. We were a little disappointed the pool was closed but that became the least of our worries. The server greeted us and she seemed a bit rude but we didn’t think much of it since we worked in the restaurant business. As the evening progressed she just got more rude and kept talking to us like we were idiots. She had a major attitude and she basically ruined the mood. Mind you, we are a big group and we were all ordering a lot of food, you would think she would be nicer. Eventually, we all had enough and when it was time to pay the check we all had an $ 80+ bill each(three total). Two of us only paid her about a $ 2 – 3 tip because she was HORRIBLE(I know brutal) and when it was time for her to pick up the third check she threw it at the table didn’t even say goodnight and that third check was going to leave a $ 20 tip. She could have easily gotten a $ 100 tip on just one table but she seemed so bothered for everything we asked. Every time she would take one persons order, she wouldn’t ask for the rest of us and then disappear forever. She was just so unpleasant and once we were leaving not only was she screaming in the kitchen(which we could hear her from) a bunch of sh*t about us but she kept rolling her eyes and kept being rude! I wanted my two dollars back she didn’t even deserve that. To make matters worse, she had the audacity to adjust the tip amount and she tipped herself an extra $ 10 which we later saw in our credit card statement. To make matters even MOREWORSE, one of our friends was paying in cash and he was suppose to get a $ 10 change and she never returned it. Once we got the manager, she didn’t do much but we did mention our friend was due $ 10 and the waiter said that he had given her exact change!!! She is such a scammer and I hope she lost her job because that is no way to treat people. We weren’t being annoying, we were ordering a lot of drinks and minding our own business. She’s lucky we don’t live in the area. Other than that, the food was fine not all that. The only thing your really paying for in this place is the view, I’ll give them that. That’s the only reason they’re getting a star, because of the food.

The first time I came here a year ago, I wasn’t pleased with the service or food But this time I’d say the restaurant, servers have definitely stepped up their game, on point! 5

Was recommended so we ate pool side. Great view of seven mile bridge. Food was good. Food that was excellent: Prime Rib(my sister loved it), I had the Bourbon tips with coconut rice was spicy and I ate every bite! Drinks were fun along with the whole tiki hut atmosphere. Prices were fair for the area. Service was excellent. We actually went out of our way to tell the manager our server was that good! Shout out to Frank our server! Only draw back were the black flies that decided to join us for our meal. There were alot but nothing anyone can do about outside dining. Would highly suggest the Bourbon Tips!

This is a fun place, with Tiki décor. The food is good. They have a live DJ spining South Beach style EPM music on Sunday afternoons from 1p and weekday evenings from 6p –9p. Friendly service comes with a great view of the ocean and the 7 mile bridge.

I’ll first start out by saying I feel a little generous giving 2 stars but my food was EXCELLENT and it just wouldn’t be right to base my experience soley on our service. We went to dinner just before sunset on a Thursday night. It was fairly busy. We were told that to get an indoor table, it would take«a very long time» or we could sit out back to watch the sunset and not wait at all. Sounds great, right?! Well– there’s a big pool back there. That may seem cool to some people but I for one would NEVER swim in a pool while being surrounded by people trying to enjoy their dinner. My two-year-old threw a fit because she wanted to go swimming like all the other kids(who were not being watched by their parents might I add) but I wasn’t going to let that happen. We were there to EAT and not to swim so that really put a damper on our evening. And that was just the start. Our server, I believe her name was Amy, did not come to greet us(party of five including my 2 year old) for a good 15+ minutes. We could see she had a lot of tables to tend to so we weren’t too terribly bothered that it took her a while. I used to serve and know how that goes and we are all pretty understanding people so we didn’t say anything but were a little annoyed. So– she takes our drink order and that was the last we saw of her for about 10 – 15 minutes. We ordered a couple beers and wine along with a coke and a kid’s chocolate milk. I kept thinking back to my serving days and tried to be understanding that maybe she had to go to multiple places in the restaurant to get the drinks, etc. I mean, we were outside after all. But my mood changed quickly as I noticed her taking other orders, bringing other tables their drinks(tables that were seated after us,) etc. Now– there is no doubt in my mind that she wasn’t busy. I get that. But at some point as a server, you’ve gotta ask for help. So we are now at about 25 minutes after ordering our drinks– dying of thirst, mind you. It was a really hot night although being on the water made for a nice breeze to keep us cool. Finally, our server drops off our drinks… only theres 3 drinks when we ordered 5 total. She told us she had to go to another part of the restaurant to get the other drinks. She comes back about 5 minutes later and STILL doesn’t bring my daughter her chocolate milk. We were going to order an appetizer but before we could even speak, she ran off to tend to another table. This is when I started to get really annoyed. Here we are, a good 45+ minutes after arriving and we haven’t even gotten all of our drinks?! Haven’t ordered a single thing to eat?! FINALLY a different server(maybe a manager, I’m not sure) came to our table and very rudely takes our dinner order. We all order our dinners, very unhappy with our service. We tell her that we are STILL waiting for my daughter’s chocolate milk. About 5 minutes later she brings us the chocolate milk and THEN asked if we wanted any appetizers. We were starving so we decided to get one still– cheese fries. Our server brings us the cheese fries less than 10 minutes later. This was no appetizer by any means. It was a side order of fries with a little cheese melted on top. My two-year-old ate most of them by herself. About another 20 – 25 minutes, our food arrives. I was just waiting for it to be absolutely horrible… But it wasn’t! It was delicious! I got the filet and it was absolutely perfectly cooked and seasoned. My mother-in-law had some sort of a seafood trio that she really liked. My husband had ribs that he thoroughly enjoyed. My father-in-law had a burger of some sort that he really liked. I can’t even remember now what my daughter got but she enjoyed it as she had a clean plate! Bill time. We asked for our bills to be separated. My in-laws on one and my husband, daughter and I on the other. It took her three tries to get our bills right. Not one single time did she(or anyone for that matter) apologize for our ridiculous, long wait. Not a single thing. She had a terrible attitude the entire night. I’m not sure if she was new, had personal problems going on or was just a terrible server. I’m not sure I would ever go back here. But if I did, it would be only because of the delicious food. *** SIDENOTE*** That chocolate milk that I waited 45 minutes on… it was THREEDOLLARS. Three dollars added to my daughter’s meal for a very small cup of milk with chocolate syrup. Ridiculous. There aren’t many restaurants that don’t include the kids drink with the meal but this one apparently does not. Other than that, I felt prices were reasonable.

Hot jalapeños Sunset Grille, your sushi was pretty darn good so I’ll up my rating to four stars! We have a baby and they made it very easy for the three of us to enjoy dinner(infant car seat + upside down high chair = perfection). I decided to try sushi this time as I didn’t feel like spending $ 30 on a fish dish(see my prior review), and for around $ 27 I received two huge specialty rolls that were fresh and delicious. I now wouldn’t hesitate to come back the next time I’m in the keys, but I’m still a little skeeved out by that pool(sit in the main area instead, it has a nice vibe).

Stopped here today for happy hour and dinner. Ordered the peel and eat shrimp. They were way past their time being frozen. The waitress Amy was not very responsive. Had too chase her down for drink refills. Went to pay the bill and was shorten a few dollars in our change. It’s too bad. It’s a great location.

This is the famous Sunset Grill. It sits at the foot of The Seven Mile Bridge. That is its strong point. It has the most glorious views of sunsets ever. You can walk or bike the old bride and then come here for a tiki drink. It has indoor dining, a large covered tiki bar and outdoor dining and a bar around s huge pool with a giant screen. So for atmosphere, it has something for everyone. The drinks are great. They have a whole crazy tiki menu with tasty drinks that come in fantastic fun glasses, think sharks and Marlins and skulls! The prices are in the 10 dollar range and you get the glass. Score, free glass! I’ve been a few times and the bar service is spotty, from poor, to OK to very good(Marty). Of course they have all the regular drinks available also. It’s a diverse menu, everything from sushi to prime rib. It’s all ok. Most done reasonably well but nothing spectacular. The tuna sashimi is very nice. The poor rating mostly derives from the table service. Both times we have eaten by the pool, the service at night was terrible. Very disorganized, no chop sticks or soy cups for sushi, no dishes cleared… The gamut. And we have been a large group and small. The service was slow and lacking personality. That being said, it’s open past 9 which nothing else in this key is and the food is all fine. The atmosphere is great!

This is one those must see locations. Located at the North start of he 7 mile bridge on the Overseas highway towards Key West Florida. One the few bars you can visit that has a swimming pool near the bar. Great food and the best view of the bridge. It should be one of the wonders of the US. If going the place make. Sure you don’t miss the turnoff going South. If you do it will be 14 mile turn around to the entrance. They have a nice sit down restaurant on the second deck and the boat dock and pool on the ground level. Stop and see Joy the bartender and tell her I sent you. Hey have quite s few specialty drinks. Be sure you have a DD after one of those. They are strong.

Best meal we ate in the Keys, and we ate some good places. Other reviews imply the wait might be long, but we arrived on a Saturday morning at 11. We got instant service, a table with a great view, and exceptionally good food. Fried oyster basket and fried scallop basket were perfection. No need for sauce at all, light batter on scallops, perfect dusting on oysters. If we had stopped here on the way down to Key West, all the good there would have been a disappointment! Good thing the guy at the hotel recommended it.

Nice place with a great set up. The views are nice and the restaurant is spacious. There is also a nice outdoor area on the water with a docking area and a pier. All the food here was good. Here’s was we ordered:(2) coconut shrimp,(1) fried Mahi Mahi appetizer,(1) fried oysters,(1) Caesar salad with fried Mahi Mahi,(1) basket of fried scallops,(1) Cuban pulled Pork,(2) steak platters. Everything was very delicious. Portion size of the Mahi in the salad could have been a bit bigger, but it was still tastey! The Caribbean cole slaw was also good. Fun fact: They also serve sushi. Casual and cute. A little bit pricier than expected.

Worst meal in 30 years. Got 3 tacos. Besides the incredibly cheap 7 – 11 taco shells, the waiter left the tacos in the window so long it dissolved the hard shells into mush. Complained to the waiter. Do you think he took the $ 6.00 off the bill? No way. Besides checking for the crappy quality of the food after 20 minutes, Roger the waiter put our condiments in the dirt(literally) to make room on the table. People come here because of the outside pool, and sunset visible throughout the bar and patio which face West. Ambiance only. Food is pure over-prices shit. Get a drink. Use the facility. Don’t order food. You will be sorry. 4th year eating here and last. Yes. That is a hard taco(mush) shell. What morons. Who could serve garbage like that? Roger could.

The only reason I cannot give Sunset Grille a 5 star rating(to be fair) is that I did not eat here. Despite that fact, I stopped at so many other locations on the way to Key West that I think this place deserves that many stars. The prices of drinks at Sunset are completely reasonable, the wait time was completely acceptable. The grounds were fabulous, I love that they have a pool for the kids, and adult games(cornhole for one) as well. The views are spectacular(while they don’t have immediate ocean access(no beach) except for a dock). Sunset here is pretty great, and I’d stop by again on my way down to Key West. Overall, a must stop for a drink on your way to Key West. If you’re looking for a beach, you’ll have to pass.

This place is decently priced for the keys, has an amazing view, and is truly the perfect kind of vacation experience. First, the tropical drinks are delicous. Maybe not crazy strong(or strong at all) but very delicious. The key lime colada? You must get it. What could be better? And it’s got a graham cracker rim! Yum. Other highlight was the King Kong’s revenge — a chocolate covered banana frozen rum drink. More banana than chocolate, but very delicious. Food is decent — my husband got the 7 Mile Hogfish Sandwich and it was delicious — I would say for a vegetarian who didn’t eat fish, it would be amazing without the fish(the bread, onions, cheese, and mushrooms were all delicious and well seasoned on their own). Fish was well cooked and tasty. I ordered crab legs — and they were good, not hot though, which was disappointing, but it was good crab for all it was worth. The view and atmosphere is really worth it — it’s really laid back and a great stop on your way to Key West to watch the sun set. We stayed in a hotel close by so we stayed for a long while. Great place to relax and enjoy the ocean.
