Such a small place, there’s only 3 tables inside and 2 outside. You don’t come here for the décor. The food, however, is excellent. The cheese steak may be the best I’ve ever had.

Have stopped in here often to grab cheesesteaks for lunch. This place is strictly a to-go restaurant(or delivery, I think). Nobody eats in here. Service is laid-back, but friendly. Never any problems. I think the cheesesteaks are great. Pizza is better elsewhere(try Maple Shade pizza), but this place is a great option if you’re in town.

Love their hoagies. Pizza is not pre-made and shipped in like the big chains. Authentic hand tossed like you remember from your younger days. Prices are very reasonable too.

My first experience –I was looking forward to my hoagie from here. A friend went on Saturday to pick me up a hoagie because they swore they had the best chicken salad. So I figured we could spit one –well I was shocked. It looked like someone smeared chicken salad(which looked like chunky mayo that is how thin it was) on the roll and slapped some lettuce and tomato on it. I work in the business and if I was not working I would of took it back. I see great reviews on here so maybe they are no good at hoagies and I should of tried a steak.

This place is a local favorite and a must go if you’re visiting. Everything is good but I recommend the cheesesteaks.

Had the large cheesesteak with fried onions. It was HUGE. Easily four meals, or two very large ones. I wish they had wiz instead of mozzarella but it was still great. The steak was juicy, even after being microwaved. I would definitely recommend this for anyone not looking to cross the river but still get a delicious cheesesteak! PS Fries were not so great. Barely cooked. Not worth it.

I got a chicken cheesesteak. The only pro I can see is that it was big other than that I was disappointed. It had no flavor, no seasoning and cheese was minimum. I also got a small pie of cheese pizza, that also was ok. Once again pizza had no flavor. Pretty much will not go there again!

LOVED the chessesteak. Really well done. I heard that they use to make huge steaks, but this one was more on the avg size. I didn’t like the fries. Sort of mad I never went before now…

Love the cheesesteaks. Don’t love their pizzas with sparse toppings. Don’t love their rude service. I’m local so I know where this place is located, but I can see that someone who is not from the area will easily drive past Yellow Submarine because it is on a side street and not easy to spot, especially in the dark. Again, the cheesesteaks are great and competitively priced. Pizzas, not great, because they skimp on toppings, even the toppings they charge extra for!!! I like the modest look of the place that some people seem to dislike. It’s a take out place, not a sit down restaurant. But, what’s with the rude service? I hate to talk to the girls at the register. They have no customer service skills. They often wear inappropriate outfits, especially in the summer, and are just plain rude… no politeness, even if they sometimes say thank you after the payment is made, it’s a rude thank you. Every time I go there, I feel like why do I give them my business? I usually call ahead so the order is ready, but even on the phone those girls rush you through the order, never give you the correct amount, and never confirm your order. If it wasn’t for the cheesesteaks and the convenient location, I wouldn’t go back to this place.

My wife and I decided to try this place because she said she heard good reviews on food network. When we pulled up, we we parked directly in front of the place where we could see clearly of the kitchen layout and its employees. Before getting out of the car, I observed an employee putted out his ciggie in the kitchen because he saw us pulled up. I, immediately was disgusted and put on revise and drove away. The place is also old…

My family and I have been going here for years. We order to large pies, one plain one pepperoni. Great price and some of the best pizza around. And we are a family who is picky about their pizza :). Husband and kids like their cheesesteaks. Not the best, but better then Pats and soooo much cheaper. I would recommend!!!

The place is pretty awesome. Huge, over-sized steaks, good homemade mozzarella sticks and don’t sleep on the buffalo chicken cheese steak either. Positives — Huge Cheese steaks, really chopped up steak it has a really good flavor and especially with onions. Yellow Sub always manages to give you a lot of food for your money, that’s for sure. Negatives — I like the steaks, but the bread is kinda soft. It manages to hold the steak together pretty well, but some people might prefer a harder roll.

Dry! Dry! Dry! Went here based off of the reviews and Food Network recommendation and was totally disappointed! I don’t know if these guys just had an off day or if they only make good juicy cheesesteaks for TV! While I am Philly born and raised it doesn’t take much to satisfy my cheese steak craving which is why I was super let down by this place. First off, the bread was over powering– the meat to bread ratio was 70 – 30(and I’m being generous). Secondly, their«wiz» tasted like nacho cheese dip. Lastly and most importantly it was DRY! If there’s anything a cheesesteak should never everrrr be it’s dry, man! No juices, no nothing! Just a lot of bread, nacho cheese, and dry dry meat with zero flavor! Yuck! Worst. Cheesesteak. Ever.

Not what they use to be… this place use to be one of the best for cheesesteaks, packed so much you couldnt even get in your first bite. Excellent wings also, use to order few times a month but now the food you get there? You can get anywhere! Not a stand out anymore.

I don’t understand the hype. Their cheesesteak is not that good, not even close to being the best in town yet alone in south jersey(as advertised) Their pizza is the cheapest around but you get what you pay for. Probably rank their pizza 9th out of the 10 pizza places in town. If your not worried about quality and want whatever is cheaper Yellow Sub is the place for you.

Stopped by last night for dinner, definitely had one of the best cheese steaks in a while. Growing up in Philly and relocating to S. Jersey, I do occasionally get the cheesesteak craving and make my way out to Philly for a Cheesesteak but that will be no more! I’ve tried the cheese steak with mushroom added to it and the pizza steak. The cheese steak was soo beautiful. Just what you expect from a true original Philly cheese steak. The meat was so juicy and tender, bread was soft. The sandwich just melted in your mouth! 5 star cheesesteak for sure!!! The pizza steak was a little drier and I don’t recommend it. I think the tomato sauce sucks up the juices from the steak so it tastes a little drier. I would love to give it 5 stars, but giving it 4 for the lack of fountain sodas. A real cheese steak goes along with a nice drink being slurped with all that ice. Yes the place is dingee, but as the other reviewers said that is the appeal. John’s roast pork, Pat’s, Geno’s, the dingyness just adds to the appeal of it all!

It’s a dingy, almost dirty little place. A dive per se. Get over yourself and order a cheesesteak. You’ll be glad you did. Really one of the best around. And if you get a large, you can feed a family of four with one… really. It’s as long as your arm. The girls can be a little rude but to me that just adds to its appeal. Hey, Im from Jersey. We’re all little brash sometimes.

I saw this place on Unilocal and I thought that it may be a good place for a pit stop on my way to NYC and since it was feature on Food Network( ) — mistake. First, they have NO public restrooms. Second, the location is bizarrely located in the middle of all these homes. Fortunately, they did have about 3 tables on the inside and outside to sit. There are only bottled drinks, no fountain sodas. So, for the lack of amenities, its location, and lack of bathrooms I would not recommend this place as a pit stop if you are driving through Philly/NJ. Instead, I probably would have just taken the 95 and ate at Popeyes. But if I were living in the area, then I would definitely frequent this joint. As for the food, well I will admit that it is good and the prices are fairly reasonable for a very large and piping hot sandwich. They also sell pizzas here and their phone in orders during lunchtime was fun to watch. We sampled the buffalo wings(sweet and smoky — extra crispy batter), Philly cheesteak with mushrooms(bomb), and chicken parm sandwich(also delicious). Lastly, no broccoli rabe option on the menu.
