The two stars is mostly for the cold temperature inside. Yes it was a cold night outside last night but my husband and kids shouldn’t need to wear winter coats during dinner. The food was OK, nothing special. Salad and soup especially bland. Entrees were better. I am not sure we would go back as there are other nearby choices for Hibachi.

I had the firework roll which was fantastic. Unfortunately I ordered 2 drinks which were under poured and too expensive. The two drinks were a captain and Coke for 5.50 and a double grand mariner on the rocks for 18.00. The captain price was fine, but I felt the drink was under poured, that’s why I switched it up to the GM. The GM was 18.00 and listed as an open drink on the reciept-the captain was listed as a name brand drink. Anyways that’s my beef, I’d go back but I wouldn’t order anything from their bar.

Don’t know if they maintain the hibachi area, but the place could use a scrub down. We used to go for every celebration. In the past few visits, we’ve had tippy tables in the dining room and greasy tables/counters in the hibachi area. The food is still pretty decent. But if the outside isn’t well taken care of, how does the kitchen look? Maybe we’ll have to go to Benihana down the street.

I had a wonderful time there, my fiancé and I ordered the love boat. It took longer than expected but the wait was well worth it. When we received the love boat they were very generous with the portion size of the sashimi. The sushi rolls was delicious and worth my 50 bucks!

I’ve been here a few times. I’m just not impressed with their sushi rolls. The rice on the rolls don’t taste like sushi rice. They use way too much rice on their rolls too. The setting and décor is nice though. I like walking in and forgetting I’m in MG. I give the. 5 stars for that.

Ok I gave it a fair shot. Tried this place 2 or 3 times and it didn’t make the cut. This past time o went here I was hungry and ready to try different options. We dined here during peak lunch hours on a weekday. There were only about 6 – 7 tables and service was sllooooowww. Thumbs up: –friendly service, but slow service –private and street parking –located in a great town and around shops Thumbs down: –the food is mediocre at best –poor presentation to quality to pricing –sushi rice had way too much vinegar in it. Rolls were not wrapped tight and fell a part, seaweed salad looked like green ooze was holding up the salad. Couldn’t even wipe the plate clean for the price and location and ambience. –bathrooms were not that clean –tempura was soggy –they were not able to accommodate to vegetarian options. They weren’t going to make you happy at all with substitutions, additions, you name it not happening. –water had a bad tap taste to it All in all I wouldn’t go here unless I had to attend. So much hope, but not enough happening.

It took them 30 mins to seat is at hibachi(after we even had a reservation) and 10 mins to take our drinks orders where they had us sit to wait for a hibachi table. Also there were 4 other people in the restaurant. We had to remind the hibachi griller twice to give us our shrimp sauce. If they would have apologized about the wait we would have been less upset.

Their sashimi size was generous; however, I’ve had better sushi, and definitely better teriyaki dishes. The size of our teriyaki lunch was tiny and it seemed over cooked. We also ordered shrimp tempura but they only put two pieces of it mixed with fried vegetables for over $ 6! They should have mentioned that! They TRiED to do a good job with service… But the staff seemed like they were fighting in the front.

Awful!!! From the service to the food to the sticky table… we will never go back! What a disappointing experience. We couldn’t even eat our food as it was rubbery and over sauced. We sat for at least 15 minutes before anyone asked us if we’d like something to drink. Then the food was terrible. We’ve eaten a lot of sushi over the years, but this was by far the worst. After we paid, the manager came and found us before we left and offered to give us free vouchers for the next visit. We kindly declined, as there won’t be any future visits.

This was my third time there. The first 2 times were fine but this last time was just not that great! It was a Tuesday night and there was no one but my sister in law and I in one table and another party of 4 men. We placed our order, got our sushi at a timely manner. I ordered the winter roll expecting it to be crunchy, but very disappointed that it was really soggy and hot. I was in a rush to leave but the waitress never came to us(remember that they only have us and another party), so I decided to go look for them. They were all sitting in one of those private room eating. I didn’t want to be rude so I stood from afar trying to get someone’s attention to let them know I was ready. Finally I caught someone’s attention and the waitress came out. She gave us our to go boxes and took our bill. We both paid cash so the waitress took the bill and left for about 10 minutes. My sister in law was wondering if the waitress thought all the left over money was the tip? So again, I went walking around and saw that she was going through her purse trying to find change for us. My thought was, if there’s no one but us and another party, shouldn’t we receive the best service? !

Awful from start to finish. Let me begin with their request to «please sit at bar» while you wait… only once you sit at the bar, no one helps you or asks you if you’d like a drink… Then we move on to be seated at the hibachi table. This table has not been cleared and is sticky from top to bottom. Crumbs in every visible crevice. My boots even stick to the floor. We are one of two parties in the entire restaurant and the table isn’t clear or clean?!? The hibachi experience is all over the place. The soup, which tastes like dirty dishwater, is served right with the salad. Your entrée comes first, then the shrimp appetizer… complete with sand vein aka shrimp poo still intact… And then you get vegetables LAST. Horrible!!! And we had to tell our server three times that we needed change after paying with a hundred dollar bill.

Hibachi and Sushi is not bad, but the service is terrible! My last visit to the place was 6 months ago. Few times I’ve go there for dinner with reservation in advanced and we had to wait additional 1 hour+ and still won’t seat us. I asked them two times when will we be given seats when there are empty hibachi tables available and was told both times another 10 – 20 minutes which never happened. Both times were for special occasions dinner and I’ve noticed there was a lady who also has been waiting to be seated for a long time and was very frustrated too. She later give up and left! I also ended up leaving after waiting over 1hr+ and went to Benihana in Maple Grove and I only waited 30mins and we were all happy because we finally get to eat dinner. I don’t know why they won’t give us the seats at the empty Hibachi tables and also there were so many empty regular tables too having customer like myself and their family wait for this long period even though I have made the reservation in advanced is totally unacceptable! For that reason I don’t go back there anymore. I rather go to Benihana for hibachi or Kyoto who’s also near by.

My family and I used to frequent this establishment often. The lunch hibachi prices are second to none. However, I’ve noticed a decline in the quality of service as time has moved on. We have had a couple issues with rude greeters and they have botched our order on more than one occasion. I will say, the chefs who do Hibachi are always very respectful. Try it out for lunch, definitely, but be aware, the servers can be off-putting.

I’m not a huge hibachi grill fan but love sushi. My husband and I met my brother, his wife and daughter for dinner here. My husband and I ordered a sampler of sashimi. We also shared the land and sea meal for two which had filet mignon, chicken, scallops, lobster and shrimp. Pros: I have to say that this place has the best fried rice I have ever had at a hibachi grill. The waitress was very attentive and the chef was very nice. Cons: Our sampler of sashimi did not come with rice?.. The fried rice is an up charge of $ 5 each without being told(not sure if that’s on the menu but I’ve never been charged additional for fried rice) Overall, the meal was decent. I would return to this specific steakhouse maybe when my youngest two children are old enough for the entertainment. Totally worth the stop here if you’ve never been or really like this type of place.

The best all around sushi joint in MG; selection/options, quality, price, service, etc. The service is usually pretty good and it never seems to be overly busy, which I enjoy. There usually are more folks stopping in for take out than there are in the dining room. I’ve never done hibachi seating, so I can’t speak to that, but the sushi rolls are pretty affordable and tasty, much better than Zushiya across the street. Dining for two? I recommend ordering two of the specialty rolls(Maple Grove roll and Treasure Island are my faves) and two or three of the basic rolls(spicy tuna/salmon/Philly). Wash that down with a tall Kirin or Sapporo and you’ve both got a belly full for under $ 50.

I had a hankering for sushi and decided to hit up Mt Fuji with a few friends. I’ve lived in Maple Grove for nearly 4 years and this was the first time I’ve eaten here. It’s located in Arbor Lakes, right down Main Street. Parking is pretty easy; you can park on the street or in the back in the large parking lot. Right when you walk in, you notice the spacious dining room and the water feature in the middle of the restaurant. There is a small bar right next to the sushi bar. We were seated right away and ordered hot tea. The menu has the usual suspects and I decided that I wanted something warm. I found the Nabe Yaki Udon noodle soup bowl and I had to try the sushi; so, I got the Spider Roll(one of my favorites anywhere I go for sushi). The udon noodles came with chicken, fish cake, egg, and vegetable in vegetable broth and shrimp tempura. The broth was very clean, crisp and quite refreshing; not loaded with salt and MSG. The vegetables were fresh and the noodle were cooked well. This was a simple dish and a perfect way to keep warm on a cold Minnesota day. The Spider Roll was alright; I’ve had better in downtown Minneapolis and Uptown. This is a decent place for a quick lunch, but I think it was could have been better; especially given the fact that my lunch was $ 25(I expected better).
