While visiting for the weekend, we found India House. Amazing food, amazing service, amazing atmosphere. So glad we stumbled upon this gem!

We went for dinner and ordered extras so we could have leftovers. We got the vegetable samosas, plain naan, peshawari naan, chicken biryani, and something else(I forget what my boyfriend got). The samosas were quite tasty, just a little spicy. As usual, I preferred the version I make at home, but these were not as greasy as most and were a little smaller(and therefore easier to eat). They came out piping hot. I was incredibly happy with the biryani. I only like biryani made more in the middle eastern style – not spicy hot, but flavored with saffron, cardamom, and cinnamon. This biryani was spot on. I really enjoyed the nuts and dried fruit, as well as the saffron flavor that came through the other spices. The naan was okay, nothing fantastic but solid. I thought the peshawari naan could have had more filling, but it was just a little sweet with the amount of filling it had. I highly recommend coming here.

I have visited many Indian restaurants throughout Minnesota and this is by far the best and most authentic. My fiancé and I often visit this great establishment on Saturdays for the hot and fresh buffet.

We’ve been coming to India House since they opened and absolutely love their food and the staff. I have a salt intolerance and eating at restaurants is tricky as typically, cooks over salt and servers give the«deer in the headlight» look when asking for no or low salt accommodations. At India House, they make my food without added salt and even have made sure to point out items on the menu and buffet that I can eat. Whenever I call for take-out, they know me by name and I know my food is prepared for me perfectly every time. Some weeks our schedule is super packed and we rely on India House to cook for our family once a week; sometimes two. Our kids love the food too. I highly recommend anyone looking for authentic, fresh, family-friendly, Indian cuisine. Hands down the best in the Twin Cities.

We’ve been coming here about twice a week for the past month – the food is just THAT good! Outstanding service, great food quality, friendly staff, and fair prices.

Had a random craving for Indian, and this place TOTALLY satisfied. I forgot how good a mango lassi is. Samosas and their chutneys were very tasty and filling. Chicken tikka masala was amazing as well. It was SO good, I drug my boyfriend in the next day for lunch buffet! He’d never had Indian food before, and this was the perfect place to introduce him to it. We got to sample many of the tasty and fresh dishes, including some desserts — can’t remember what they were called, but we loved what seemed to be donut balls in a sweet liquid. Endless naan was amazing. Service was exemplary during both visits — frequent checks and very friendly. You can get cheaper Indian food, but it might not be as fresh, the place might not be as clean, and the service might not be as attentive.

Great buffet, tried a lot of items that I would never think to order off the menu. I found some new favorites! The building was quite warm, literally, but it was overall a really great lunch.

Ok, this place makes you feel traveling back in time. They have a paper receipt which I have not seen in a long time. I am also not sure how they processed my credit card, Amex sent me an email saying it was a «Card Not Present Transaction», so it was obviously not swiped. Leaving that apart, coming to food! OMG! It’s EXPENSIVE. I ate the most expensive Chicken pakora in my life, when I was served I did not knew that I had my pakora in front of my(by the shape and size of it). It was exactly tasting like the Chicken Tenders at Mc Donald’s, but much smaller in size. I exactly got 5 pieces no longer than 2″ each and less than ½″ wide(believe me, I was about to cry on its size) and I paid $ 5.99 for that. Next we had a chicken tikka masala and a panner tikka masala. Looks like they were made in same pan. I saw a chicken piece in Panner dish and vice versa. Don’t have to explain the taste, it was horrible. Overall, it’s a perfect waste of time and money.

If you’ve ever been to any other Indian restaurant you’ll know that they are notorious for not being clean. That’s completely opposite of India house. The amazing service my family received was unmatched by any other Indian restaurant. The waiter checked with us multiple times to see if everything was okay. The food was amazing as well. We had the lunch buffet and everything tasted fresh and flavorful. I will definitely be returning again.

I don’t like Indian food. My wife made me come and WOW, this place knocked my socks off. The vegetable somosa, the lamb, the saffron rice, the naan– all incredible. I’d come back in a heartbeat. I’ve been converted! Jessica our server made some really good suggestions. If you can ask for her. Great food and service!

First time visiting this place. We ate the buffet, and both myself and my friend agreed the food was excellent. And this just the buffet. We didn’t taste anything that was not excellent, though the Halwi was so-so(note that everyone makes theirs different, so my opinion is just that). The staff was extremely attentive. They saw that I was taking the last of a few pakoras(which were outstanding) and before I could turn around to ask if they could refill the tray, they told me that fresh pakoras would be out in a minute or so. We went back to our table, and a few mins later, a server brought us fresh pakoras. I care nothing about what I pay for good food. But I need to mention that for 12 dollars per person for the buffet, this place is a helluva deal considering how good the food is. I will be going back to order off their dinner menu and am looking forward to it.

Went for lunch here on a Thursday wit office colleagues. Nothing great about the place and set up. Buffet had some number of options for a 11 $ buffet. Food was hit and miss only. Few of the had some flavour to it but others were bland. Naan was probably their best. very soft and buttery. They ran out of couple of dessert by 1.45 pm only. Service was really good for a buffet. Located in a prime location I expected much better stuff from them. They must improve upon thier food for sure.

I tried the India House for lunch today. I arrived with about 40 minutes left on the lunch buffet. One thing i noticed right away is that the food was not being rotated properly. When you bring out the new food, do not put it on top of the old food. The cooking staff were very loud in the back. I could hear them talking and yelling all the way from the front of the restaurant. The next thing i noticed was there was many items that looked tired and as if it had been sitting there for a long time. The food tasted ok. Not a lot of flavor but not bad either. I had hoped for a larger variety of food for $ 10.72 with tax. I think the buffet would greatly improve with a larger variety of food, and fresher food to choose from changed out quicker and rotated properly. The restaurant seemed very clean and the service staff was very nice. They provided fresh nan that was very good. I didn’t see any take home/out menus. I will try this place one more time before forming a more permanent opinion about this place. I have been to some indian buffets where the food always appeared full and tasty. You felt like you were able to try a large variety of dishes for cheaper than i was charged here. This place, although not bad, has some room for improvement. This restaurant could easily earn four stars if the make some changes. I hope they do, i will try it one more time.

Stopped in for the Lunch Buffet. While a bit on the smaller side, all the food was very flavorful and fresh. Having been to Delhi I knew what to expect from a spice flavor standpoint and this is one of the better Indian restaurants I’ve tried int he Twin Cities. Fresh Naan is brought to the table during lunch which is appreciated. The real stars were the curries both the veg and non-veg were flavorful and medium spiced. Service was fine overall. I cannot wait to go back for Dinner and order Kebabs.

The best indian restaurant in the twin cities area — Service and Food Quality is par excellence. Service levels: Most indian restaurants suffer in this area, this place was excellent, very courteous staff, keep on eye on the buffet — keep filling up fast, dinner tables gets cleared out fast, water is always filled up. Food Quality: Perfect balance of flavor, most of my american friends would love this since it is not too spicy, for people who crave extremely spicy food this is not the place — it is flavorful, but not super duper hot. If you care of the quality more than spice levels — this is the place Ambience — simple setup, tables are spaced out well Anything negative? In our very first visit, they had made our Paneer dish make a Paneer with Tomato ketchup, it was awful, I did tell that guy. Hopefully they do not repeat such short cuts. Anything really positive? I asked the guy at the counter as to why do they have very little south indian spread. He said that the chef is a Punjabi and even if they make south indian, it may not taste good and he wanted to have a smaller buffet but good taste. Hmm, I like that answer. Overall here are my favourites in the twin cities #1: India house, maple grove #2: India Palace, Plymouth #3: Bukhara, Wayzata If you go to either of these place — you are not going to go wrong — they offer good value for money, good taste and an enjoyable visit.

Tonight, my wife and I where looking for something new in the area. Using Unilocal we found India House in Maple Grove. We where greeted by a very pleasant gentleman who sat us. The waitress was very good, told us about the menu and sauces. We ordered the Onion Pakora for an appetizer that was very good. I had the Gobi 65 that was fantastic, the heat level I went with was medium, it wasn’t MN medium and was just right. My wife had Chicken Tikka Masala that she also raved about it. We also had a garlic naan again very good. We will be coming back soon to try additional dishes. Oh and they just recently got there liquor license and are serving beer and wine.

I’ve been waiting for a good Indian place to open in Maple Grove for quite some time, and am very impressed with my first visit here. Their lunch buffet has quite a few great selections. And the service is beyond superb!

Hands down. Best Indian food ever. Excellent service. We ordered the dinner for two. It was better than great. Two choices of curry(we ordered the vegetable and chicken) grilled meat like tandoori chicken, samosas, garlic naan and dessert. All for $ 40 for the two of us and weight for two lunches as well. And, their liquor license begins in late January!

Was tasty. When my bf and I ordered we asked the waiter if rice came with the curry and he said no. So then we ordered their rice dish and when our food came out we were given two platters of rice and a small dish of currry. Confused we asked the same waiter and he said it came with rice. We weren’t happy and told him that he said it doesn’t come with rice so that’s why we ordered rice. He said he’ll go talk to his supervisor. The supervisor came and apologized and gave us the rice dish for free. Turns out the waiter was on his first day of the job but he could’ve asked others if the platter came with rice instead of assuming. All in all, I wouldn’t mind going back. Less salty than other Indian restaurants I’ve been to. I feel like you get a bit less than other places. The price seems decent like other Indian restaurants.

When I found out that there was an Indian restaurant going into Maple Grove, I was stoked. The lunch buffet at the India house is solid. The food is tasty and flavorful, spiced and seasoned well. You will not find bland food here. The service was attentive and friendly. We arrived with our infant twins in tow and were accommodated well. I have found good Indian food can be difficult to come by in the twin cities but Indian house delivers. My only concern was some of the buffet items were not as fresh as they could have been, but we came later in the lunch hour. Most of the buffet was very fresh. Naan was a little hard to come by but the first order was brought straight out to the table. India house does have a hot sauce on the buffet which is nice to be able to kick up the heat.
