Always love Pizza n Pasta, a family favorite as long as I can remember, even when they had the arcade games in the back room. The food is always served quickly and is consistently good. The house salad is simple but delicious! It has some of my favorite Penne Vodka and the speciality pizzas as the best, Shrimp Pesto being my favorite. It is also fun to get the«bar pies», getting it with onions is my favorite!

Had to update to 5 stars. After I reviewed 5 or 6 months ago I hadn’t visited often just because I spent most of the summer months down the shore. But, I will say, upon my return back a week or two ago it was great! Food is awesome. They seem to have a high turnover of servers over the last few years but it’s always busy! That’s how you know they’re doing something right. 5 stars for sure. One of manville’s better places

I’ve been to P&P several times over the years. It’s a good spot to go either with the kids or if it’s adults only and you want to grab a bite and have a couple of drinks. As far as Italian food goes P&P is a solid choice in this area. If you eat Italian in some of the nearby Italian food meccas(like NYC) and you are judging by that standard, you will be disappointed.

Update: I have gone inside to eat a few times. The service is okay, we did have to wait a little longer for food. One time we ordered two appetizers and they only brought one out, then we politely reminded them about the second appetizer which they didn’t bring out until right before bringing out our main dishes. Everyone in our party thought the food was only«okay». They are also a little pricey. Don’t count this place out though, since they still have a great atmosphere and their pizza is the best!

Ive given 4 stars because this restaurant is actually 3 places combined. It does have a real live bar and bar area where you can get drinks, chill out and eat. As far as bars go its pretty clean and spacious. They also have large event rooms for planned ahead gatherings and in this respect Pizza and Pasta really shines, I have planned our work christmas party here the last 2 years in a row and have had nothing but thanks for it! They handle large groups really well. Thirdly its a dinner spot, the entrees are really nice with good portion sizes, the pasta is supposedly hand made and it always good! The pizza likeall pizza in NJ is subject to everyones opinion and while I wont go into specifics i will day its a good bar pie, but I do feel the pizza is a little overpriced for what it is. There is a bit of turnover as far as employees go here so please be patient as you probably have a newbie and being family owned they may or may not have a rock solid training program for them, that being said the veterans are usually very good and keeping guests happy.

The pizza is thin and not the greatest service. It has that trashy bar vibe. It’s fine if you’re hungry and there’s nothing else open. If you don’t mind eating while locals are getting drunk, this is your place.

The pizza is fabulous crispy and thin crust. The entrees are your basic Neapolitan Italian classics that are above average and reasonably priced. Now to the bad critique that can ruin a night: the service is poor and slow consistently. But don’t miss up the pizza. It’s really good!

The slices are really thin, service is pretty good but if your going for pizza they don’t exactly give legit good slices

I am giving this restaurant only one star. This was the worst experience I ever had in any restaurant. I noticed right away that the tables and chairs were very sticky and dirty. My family and I ordered dinner and were all very disappointed. The food I ordered not only had a very bad odor but the taste was awful. I only took one bite and asked to speak to the waitress. she was not very helpful and I decided to not order anything else. Everyone else at my table had same problem with their food except for 1 person that ordered a personal pizza. We decided to leave right away and will never go back to this establishment.

Pizz n’ Pasta is one of the most horrible places I have dined in. I don’t know if it was because of my race(Latina) and my best friend who is(African American)/(90% of the people in this establishment were Caucasian). but we tried to make the best of a dining experience while dealing with dirty looks from the staff, no welcomes or good evenings and no goodbye. My waitress was unpleasant and didn’t know the restaurant menu. I asked for a recommendation of an appetizer(it being my first time dining here) and her answer was«uh– everything». She forgot our bread and finally brought out some soggy loaf so I took the liberty to ask the food runner for a fresh piece. When placing the order, I had a simple burger and my pasta loving friend asked for the Pizza n Pasta Alfredo. The angel hair pasta was way over cooked and the waitress refused to give us a side of Cesar dressing with the side salad her meal came with unless she ordered a full tossed Cesar salad for the extra $ 3.50. Our experience was TERRIBLE. I don’t recommend it at all and when I paid and asked for change back, the waitress finished by leaving with an attitude and coming back to slam the cash tray on the table. Out of a 40.00 meal for two she deserved her terrible tip. I would really not recommend this place– ever.

Homemade pasta = delicious! Their dishes are inventive, simple and mouth watering. You can close your eyes and bite a bit of Italy. But must close eyes…

I have always been a fan. I’ve been coming here for 25 years. Even after they changed hands. It never disappoints. I’ve had excellent pizza and great pasta dishes. I have had groups of 15+ people coming in from hikes and we were seated promptly, all of our orders were correct and everyone was very satisfied.

It almost pains me to write this review because this used to be one of my family’s favorite go to restaurants on a Friday night. We’ve also had many«end of the season» baseball parties here. But sadly, not anymore. Left very disappointed… We went a few weeks back and immediately, the waitress set the tone from the door. She was a young snot-nose who lacked any personality and people skills. Calling her rude is an understatement. Just for kicks… her response to our question, «Do we get bread with the dinner?» was«Um yeah, like, if you ask for it!»(complete with a head jerk and all) Don’t order a pitcher of soda… all you’ll get is ice. We ordered our usual appetizers, fried calamari, buffalo calamari, and mozzarella en carrozza, While the buffalo calamari was good, the portion was incredibly small.(I say this because I never felt slighted by the portions in the past. It was evident they had scaled down quite a bit) When we asked for the blue cheese that should go with it, the waitress sucked her teeth in annoyance. The fried calamari tasted as if it was fried in old, stale, oil. Not good at all– we sent it back. Some of us ordered chicken dinners, others seafood. The seafood entrees came with salad, the chicken and veal did not. WHAT??? Are you kidding me? Not sure why this was but it annoyed me nonetheless. 2 of our kids shared a shrimp scampi. The pleasant young lady waiting on us(not) said there was a charge for it to be split by the kitchen staff. I told her to bring it out with a separate dish; we would split it up ourselves. The other kids had pizza which was okay. I felt like it lacked a bit of topping. The prices have drastically increased over the years and while I don’t mind paying high prices for food, over inflating must be justified by the taste and quality. Our food just wasn’t good and the experience was down right terrible. A few nights ago my sister called and asked if we wanted to meet her and her family here for dinner. For the first time ever in 15+ years, we declined. Together we opted for another restaurant. I’m sorry to say that we will move on and find another«go-to» spot for our last minute Friday night get-togethers and baseball celebrations. I don’t see us or any friends/family returning. At least I will advise them not to.

We went last night ¼/12 the service was terribly slow! 15 minutes before someone came to table and only after i told manager we were waiting. 30 minutes before out appetizers came out some bread deep fried with a sliver of cheese on it that was inedible. When i told waitress how bad it was she advised well you have to try it at least once! 20 more minutes before dinner a pizza and shells arrived i was charged a premium $ 2 just for the privilege of having jalapenos on pizza! Our waitress was so scarce i had to flag down another server to have her come by as we didn’t see her in 20 minutes. Don’t go here not worth it! I Should have listened to elder patron who was leaving when i went to manager who said his server disappeared!

This place is horrible. And I will explain why. I went here with a party of four on a Friday night, and we sat at our table. Our waitress came and asked us what we wanted for drink. We ordered our drinks, and 10 minutes later she comes back with the wrong drinks. We told her, and she seemed quite upset, as we weren’t sure why. About five minutes later, she came back with the right drinks. We are already 15 minutes in, and we just got our drinks correctly. Then, she asks us for our order. I ordered Ravioli, which I will get to later. She asked what type of salad i wanted, and I said Caesar. She said that it would be an extra $ 10 for the appetizer portion. I was appalled. I said fine, and she put it down. The rest of the people in my group ordered now. Then, 20 minutes later she came back with our main courses. The Ravioli was awful. Everyone else in my party of four said that their meal was awful. Then, 10 minutes later she comes back and asks us how it is. We all say, «Fine,» but we didn’t really mean it, as we wanted to say that it was awful but that would have been a bit rude to say directly to her. Then, she took our plates, and made us wait 15 minutes for our bill. As she became friendly when handing us the bill, we saw that it showed all of our salads on the bill! That was outrageous because she never gave us our salads! We asked, «Where are our salads and bread?» She said, «Oh, I’m sorry, I must have forgotten them. I’ll bring them right away.» Right after our dinner? Really? Then, 10 minutes later she came back with the salads and the bread, and they were dry and looked like they had been made a while ago(maybe when they were supposed to be given to us). Then we pay, and again our waitress becomes all nice and friendly, in hope for a big tip. We only tipped her standard ammount, although, I thought it was so bad that no tip was necessary and that we needed to talk to the manages. Well, we did not, and we left. I would never go here ever again, as everything was horrible. Food, service, everything.

Very underwhelmed from start to finish. First, I had to park in an unlit unpaved road that faces the airport. As I went to pull in I nearly ran into a drainage ditch. It was a Saturday night and the place was packed; I was meeting two friends for dinner. I ordered a Patron margarita and when it was finally delivered it was obvious the drink had been sitting for a long time. The bottom half was liquid and the top half was foam. Our waitress was clearly irritated that we took so long to decide what to order(at one point she said«OK, times up.») I ordered chicken piccata with a side salad. The salad was packed into a small bowl with the dressing on the side. The bowl was so full it was impossible to even try to mix the dressing into it. I had to dip salad into the dressing until it was low enough to mix. My chicken piccata came on about two pounds of angel hair pasta. I believe this was done to hide the size of the two chicken breasts. The breasts weren’t even a size A; they were training bra size! The entire dish was just bland; there were maybe 7 little capers floating in the mess and the only taste was a slight fake lemon flavor(as if they dipped a lemon flavored hand wipe through the dish before serving it to me). When the waitress come to ask if we wanted more drinks my friend ordered a Corona. I said«I’ll have one as well.» thinking they couldn’t screw up a bottled beer. When the waitress returned, about ten minutes later, she didn’t have my drink. After she handed my friend her drink I reminded her that I’d like a Corona as well. She put her arms up and made an annoyed huffing noise when she said«Okaaaaaay.» As she walked away she loudly said«Why didn’t you just tell me that before?» When she returned with the beer(it had a slice of lemon instead of lime) I did let her know that I had ordered it before when my friend ordered hers. She looked a little abashed and said she just must not have heard me. When the waitress took our dishes she noticed one of my friends had eaten her entire meal and remarked«Well, didn’t you do good!» Perhaps she thought it was a compliment but women don’t like it pointed out that they ate a lot of food. The waitress brought our check and then did one of the things I really hate for servers to do. She provided half ass service the entire time but, when it’s time for us to pay(and tip), she suddenly acts nice and tries to be personable and talk and joke around with us. I still tipped her 18%(she’s older and I do feel bad social security doesn’t give her enough to live on) but I will never go here again.

Used to love it, but not so much anymore. I bring my family of 6 here pretty often. They usually have plenty of seating. This used to be on of our favorite places. But lately, we haven’t been so happy with it. It’s been«just ok». Tonight’s dinners included a couple of the individual pizzas for a couple of the kids, a Stromboli for another and the Baked Ravioli for my oldest child. My wife had a chicken special with olives, tomatoes and some other stuff in a red sauce. I had the seafood bisque and linguini with white clam sauce. No problems with the pizza. It’s always pretty good. same with the Stromboli. My oldest daughter always gets the baked ravioli. My wife and I weren’t thrilled with either of our dinners. Not bad, but not great. Both of us said the same… they smothered everything is so much sauce like they were trying to hide something. In my case, when I get Linguini with white clam sauce, there are typically a ton of chopped clams, a light broth with just enough extra for dipping some bread and some fresh clams in the shell to top it off. But not here. No chopped clams, the 12 fresh clams included most in broken shells(making me hunt through the dish for an pieces of shells that may have been lost) and one that was not opened, and a thick soup of sauce that swamped the pasta. I don’t think that I’ll get that again. We will go back. The value is pretty good and we can get quickly seated. The pizza is always good. They could probably pare down their menu and focus on a few great dishes instead of a bunch of average ones. But it is a neighborhood bar and restaurant, not a 4 star dining experience.

I have been coming to Pizza & Pasta for as long as I can remember. The food is always delicious — especially the pizza. I love their pizza because its not doughy and greasy. It’s thin crust and crunchy, and full of flavor. Sometimes its hard to find a good slice that’s not sopping in grease and that’s what Pizza & Pasta does right — the perfect slice. The portabello mushroom appetizer is also delicious. It’s a huge portabello in a balsamic sauce with mozzerella on top, and it’s a good plate to start a meal. The only thing that Pizza & Pasta lacks sometimes is in the service area. You can sit there for a while sometimes before someone comes over to help you, but if you’re not in a rush, it’s usually not a problem. Also, the prices are very reasonable.

My wife and I went to Pizza & Pasta for a friend’s birthday. We were a group of 16, so I can’t fairly critique the service(though our waitress was great). Reasons I’d go back: — The menu is pretty large, with a lot of good choices. I’d like to try their pizza next time. — The food was well-seasoned and tasty — The price was good for the portions Reasons I wouldn’t go back: — The beer menu was somewhat larger than average, but boring. — The Chicken Diavolo over Spaghetti was good but seemed unbalanced — barely any spaghetti. — It’s U-G-L-Y. The building is a stucco cube with no windows. The inside is just as plain, with zero ambiance. I’m not expecting a lot here, but come on, splurge on some decorative molding for the doorways! I am a beer geek so your beer menu mileage may vary. Also, I was fairly distracted by the party, so I didn’t pay as much attention as I might have.
