First off, location is one of the best. And worst because it’s not obvious if you’re not familiar w Manteo. However, food is way overpriced. And appetizer portions are too small. I want to keep coming here, but whoever is running this place is driving it into the ground. With drink specials like these this place should be packed every night. Why don’t they advertise more? Location is terrible for tourists to find. Too far from downtown attractions. So you need to advertise a lot to get the word out. I come often and usually a handful of people here. Closes at 9. I can’t imagine how this place makes any money. Sad. Get your stuff together and advertise more and lower prices. If you keep prices where they are now you’ll surely go out of business. Frustrating to see this place sitting mostly empty. Always more staff than customers during the week.

As another poster here said, the food was awesome, but the waitress was so rude it bordered on comical. Kept wondering if we were on a prank show ! Tonight was such a disappointment ! Never going back. Ever. Doesn’t matter how great the food is — the **experience** is just as important, and for that I give it one star. Such a pity for the chef, who gave us such a great meal ! Too bad it came with a side of attitude and extra helpings of I-don’t-give-a-sh*t…

Went mid week for early dinner 4PM. Party had 6 adults and 3 kids 10 or under. Portions and food were great. Kids baskets were plentiful. House made fries are excellent. Everyone was happy with food. Only disappointment for one person was that they were all out of crab legs for there ½ price happy hour sea food special. This place is off the beaten path in a condo development, but definitely worth finding.

WHAT A VIEW! My personal favorite is the shrimp quesadilla. If you’re feeling adventurous, make it a buffalo shrimp quesadilla. Between 10 – 12 beers on tap at all times. The first floor is bar/party atmosphere and the second floor is a more personal, quiet, dining experience to take a date or significant other. If you are in Manteo, you gotta check out Striper’s!

First time here and by accident. Glad we stumbled into this place as the food was great. Even at off season, the food and the service was great. Wanted the Rockfish Rueben but they ran out of the fish and had to substitute mahi. I can only way that it was one of the best fish samdwich I have eaten. Good crust and perfectly cooked. The potato salad was also good, though the fries are even better! Definitely, a place we will stop by again on out next visit to OBX.

Pleasantly surprised. Was passing through Manteo on an Saturday afternoon looking for a seafood lunch place. Jumped on Unilocal read a few reviews and enter the address into the GPS. The weekend before Christmas with everybody shopping it was a great time check this place out. On the outside of the place they had a little garden railroad that we all love sit and watch for a few minutes. Hey it’s the season. Took the elevator to the second floor where the restaurant is located wow what a great view. We order up some shrimp, muscles, scallops grits dishes that was just out of this world lots of flavor, decent portions. Place was clean, service was good and pricing was OK. Will have to put this place into the list where to eat in the OBX.

The food was alright, but it took forever to get a table for two. We were seated inside near the bar, not near the views and service was slow as well. We were there in September and football fans were holding tables. I didn’t even realize it was a Sunday. Anyway, probably not a typical experience, but think twice in the off season.

The food was awesome! Got the tuna sashimi and it was over the top. Everyone else in my party really enjoyed their food as well. Totally recommend it!

Stripers has some amazing seafood dishes! Everything that we ordered was phenomenal. The view overlooking the marina is really beautiful. It’s also a family-friendly restaurant that accommodates younger children! I sadly had to take a star off of what would be a perfect rating because our server was so rude, like to the point where it was comical. My family and I decided to split a bunch of appetizers instead of ordering full meals. We each started with a cup of Cream of Crab soup with oyster crackers. Oh my goodness– this soup was ridiculously delicious. It is literally good enough to drink. They are generous with the portions of crab and include just the right amount of cream and spice. The best appetizer that we ordered was the Shrimp Quesadillas. The shrimp was lightly breaded in tempura, topped with copious amounts of cheese and veggies. We also ordered peel & eat shrimp with some type of seasoning and melted butter. Those were pretty good too. Our last appetizer was the crab dip with fresh bread. I am unable to judge this dip because they decided to include horseradish as a main ingredient and I’m not a fan of horseradish. However, my mom and aunt raved about the dip. The rest of the menu looked very impressive– tons of unique appetizers with seafood incorporated into them. There was also a great selection of seafood entrees, burgers and sandwiches. As I mentioned before, our server hated life. She never gave her name, but the receipt said«Trisha.» We were at the table for about 1.5 hours. She came to our table maybe two times through our entire meal. Our waters were never refilled until we were completely done eating. She scowled whenever we tried to wave her down. When she asked if we needed anything, she stormed away before we could even answer. She slammed our waters on the table when she finally got around to refilling them. I’m not sure what her problem was, but my mom and aunt are the two nicest people in the world, so we didn’t take it personally. Other than that, I would certainly recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for delicious and affordable food in Manteo! I just hope you are lucky and get a different person to take care of your table.

The husband and I were very happy to find this place on Unilocal. The location is a little hard to find, but the signs they placed were very helpful. You just have to follow the wooden boardwalk down and walk up towards the gift shop area to get to the restaurant. There was plenty of parking when we went at 4:30 pm on a Friday. We started with the chicken nacho appetizers. Those were loaded with toppings and very delicious! My husband ordered the half pound of crab legs which I thought were delicious(and cheap). They came with butter which was great. I ordered the crab cake entrée which also came with rice and vegetables. The crab cake was great, but the rice didn’t quite meet the expectations of a great side to a delicious crab cake. Overall the experience was great and we would go here again. The waiter was extremely friendly toward us visiting tourists from Maryland, and I felt very welcomed and comfortable at this establishment. The views were unique and made for a great date on our last day in Outer Banks. The prices were just right and the atmosphere was just what we were looking for.

First time at the eatery. At first glance there appeared to be plenty of seating for a party of 5, not so, we were given an undisclosed wait time. As soon as the locals came in they were seated. After we decided to sit at the bar the hostess seemed put off. Once the bartender approached my party she was a little stuffy. Having ordered the seafood platter I was expecting great food. Was I disappointed, the seafood was overcooked cooked and soaked full of oil. The shrimp was good but not nearly enough as I asked for shrimp as a replacement for oysters. Overall I would not recommend this place. Paid way to much for horrid seafood.

Very cool spot along the water, great service. Kid friendly. Fish tacos, fries and sweet tea were excellent. Hope to stop in again soon!

Enjoyed my first meal in Outer Banks at Stripers last night at this nice three-story waterfront restaurant located in Manteo. We were seated in the middle of the second floor dining room, where we had a beautiful view of the water. You’ll find a bar area and more tables downstairs, as well as outside seating on the deck. They also have a gift shop downstairs too, where they sell t-shirts and such. We started off with steamed shrimp, which is half off from 3:30 — 5:30pm everyday. Steamed crab legs are also half off during their«happy hour.» I enjoyed the shrimp; the seasoning(J.O. spice) that came with it had a good flavor. I ordered the Fried Seafood Platter($ 20). Overall, it was pretty good. It includes fried flounder, shrimp, oysters and scallops & and is served with coleslaw and French fries. The fried scallops were delicious… definitely my favorite item on the platter! REALLY good. I tried some of the Mahi and cheesy grits from the Dock Master($ 15). Didn’t really care too much for it. Not bad, though. I also tried some of my brother’s Pasta Alfredo with Shrimp($ 20.99). YUM! This Alfredo was seriously flavorful. I loved it! We received fast and friendly service here, especially for being a party of 10.

Very good! Group of ten and all were very happy with their dinner selections. I had the Stripers Rockfish w/vegetable Medley side and it was excellent. Husband had the Mahi special and it was great too. Dad had shrimp & grits and he basically licked the bowl. Overall, food seemed freshly made. Good meal.

First meal on OBX vacation and a high standard is set! Had a Caesar Salad and a small fried oyster dinner. All was fresh and extremely well prepared. And if this is a small portion, I can only imagine what a large portion is! Staff was extremely pleasant and attentive, but not overbearing. And did I mention the view from the 2nd floor?!? I can only hope I saved enough for dessert.

There was nothing too special about this place The view was nice but the place was loud and cramped. I ordered the broiled rock fish on recommendation from the waitress. When it came out it was so overcooked and dry it was hard to eat. My husband’s meatloaf wasn’t all that great either. He said it didnt even taste close to meatloaf and the mashed potatoes well, they resembled something from a highschool cafeteria. Maybe we hit this place on an off night, but with all the choices you have in this area I’d think twice before going here.

A great find. Went to Stripers this afternoon Promptly greeted at the entrance and given the choice to dine on the second floor. The view was beautiful and my husband and I were the only guests upstairs. We were waited on promptly by a very friendly waitress. We dined on the shrimp and crab leg special and even tried the steak egg rolls. Everything was tasty. The shrimp were of good size/count. My first try at crab legs and they also met beyond expectation. Overall a very pleasant experience and we will visit again.

Came here at night to watch the final four games. They had a good crowd at the bar and all of the TVs on the game. Beer here is very affordable, yuengling on draft for $ 2. Ordered the shrimp and grits which was very rich and cheesy. Shrimp was cooked well and presented on a skewer. I’m giving it 4 stars however because it was a little bit one noted, the shrimp wasn’t seasoned differently than the grits so it was basically just there for texture and protein. Would have been better if the shrimp was seasoned more on the cajun flavor profile to make it stand out.

With all the seafood we eat this place has a lot to live up to and missed. Nice waiter, but he was too busy also serving the bar and steaming food behind the bar. Food was ok, but nothing to write home about. Shrimp Alfredo was more like Mac n cheese than Alfredo. There was so much cheese that I ended up scraping a bunch off. Hubby had the mahi mahi fish tacos. He said they were good. Atmosphere was a little loud, but we were in the bar area. Cool décor and clean restrooms.
