I stayed here for four nights. Very good location, and hosts were charming. It is not technically a bed and breakfast although the hosts do put various foods into the room refrigerator every day; most of it we did not eat. There is a good breakfast place on the wharf. The only drawback for me was that the towels and sheets smelled very strongly of perfumed laundry soap and/or dryer sheets. It was a cloying and sickly smell. After two nights, I asked the hostess for fresh sheets. I think they were rewashed without dryer sheets, as they were no longer slippery, but they still smelled foul. Also. when you sit out on the porch and the dryer is running, the smell is quite revolting. If you don’t mind — or even like — this smell, that would not be a problem, but my friend and I both found it unpleasant. Except for this, I liked it very much. The rooms are furnished with antiques, the beds were comfortable, and it was in walking distance of just about everything. The hostess was very helpful about restaurants and other things to do in Manteo.

This was our second time staying here at this quaint bed and«breakfast». The separate guest house has a whole up stairs suite with snacks/pastries. Very nice owners, though we hardly saw them.

We stayed here for our 1 year anniversary and were extremely pleased. It’s clean, private, and quaint. We chose the«King Suite» in the Guest House. The room is very large, with a kitchenette, little table and chairs, loveseat, and a huge bathroom with a jacuzzi. The ladies were very friendly — when we called to figure out check out time, they said, «Around noon, but if you can’t get out then, no need to rush.» The room was only $ 125 a night during peak season, which is cheaper than most hotels. There are bagels, cream cheese, muffins, orange juice, etc. provided for breakfast, so it’s not a hot breakfast, but I knew that going in. I would definitely reccommend Scarborough House Inn!

Fields and Rebecca are extremely accomodating, prices are reasonable. They go out of their way to ensure you have a good time and a pleasant stay. They will give you advice on where to go and what to see. Great location for exploring Roanoke Island.

The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. The room was clean, quaint, and entirely comfortable. The area was very nice and convenient /within walking distance to local shopping, restaurants, and the waterfront. And the cost was extremely reasonable considering the area and the time of year. Only one complaint — the internet service needs to be upgraded. Trying to get online was like using ‘dial-up’. If I’d really needed the internet, then I wouldn’t have been a happy camper… but all in all, I would definitely go there again, and again. Two thumbs up for Scarborough House.
