Okay so a few points I need to mention: this is the fifth lighthouse of the popular five outer banks lighthouses you can tour. However, this one easily gets forgotten for a few reasons. First, it’s before you really even get to the outer banks about 10minutes away from Nags Head(I would recommend stopping on your way to the outer banks). Second, this lighthouse doesn’t really seem like a typical lighthouse that we would think of. It’s off of a dock in the water and literally appears as house with a light structure on top. You can’t walk up any tower, but you can go inside and read up on some history of the lighthouse. Third, this lighthouse appears to not exist on google maps. The address I provided is for the brewery next to the dock that will definitely get you to the lighthouse(it’s diagonal to the parking for the lighthouse, can’t miss it!) but it’s kind of disappointing that no address is provided. The positive side is that the lighthouse is located in manteo, which we otherwise would not have visited if we weren’t going to check out the lighthouse but glad we got to discover manteo! It has historical elements that you never knew existed in the NC outer banks and it has Nantucket charm. Additionally is has quaint shops, restaurants and the full moon brewery. All in all, if you have the time, I would recommend visiting. I just want you to be aware that it’s not a typical lighthouse that you would find in the outer banks, but different can be fun too :-).
