La Playa Taqueria

This is the only Mexican restaurant that I go to! I enjoy the super nachos. They are awesome. The service is great here also. If your in the mood for great Mexican food then stop by here.

This place is unsafe and pricey for what you get. A friend if mine and my nephew got diarrhea for two days straight :(.
I’ve heard stories of this place undercooking their food. But still gave it a shot. Be aware!

Have got food from here 2 times to go and get home and the order is all wrong. Ensure you check your to go order because they can not get it right.

In the past I wasn’t impressed with the food, however I was persuaded to go for dinner tonight and it was really good. The order process went well and the food came out promptly and hot! The server was very polite and was happy to accommodate our request for more chips. The food was presented nicely, my husband had enchiladas and he loved them and I had Carne as ada tacos and they were great and the meat was especially tender and seasoned perfectly.
I think if I have the same experience again I’ll be a regular!

Good food & service. I don’t know what all these ppls complaints are about. The service was good, the food was tasty & the salsa bar was great! We asked for more chips no problem & we’re not charged for them like some other Unilocalers say. Try it out its a very good place.

This place use to be really good! Since they changed owners it’s horrible!!! They cut back on everything. There were 4 of us that went and had dined in, and they gave us one basket of chips, when I asked for one more she gave me a dirty look.
My family and I would always come here, but sadly we won’t be coming back.

Came here for the first time. The food was good. The price wasn’t too bad. It was super busy. Took longer then usual to get our food. But overall we will be back. They have many seafood and Mexican plate options we want to try. And some we haven’t seen before.

They recently changed owners, same menu and décor but the food? The carne asada tasted liked a whole bottle of garlic salt was used on each taco. I ordered a grilled chicken burrito and wound up with that cat food smelling canned chicked, they made me another and when I brought it back up to the counter and asked where the chickehn was she said oh it is chpped up inside. Yeah right. I got my money back and we left.

Family owned and operated. Provided fresh authentic Mexican food in ample portions, enough to take home for another meal. Service is quick so you can be in and out before your lunch hour is over.

My BFFS & I go out once a month together. Two of us ordered the chili rellenos. They were not light and fluffy, but heavy, the chili’s were very tough, and this is how I grade Mexican restaurants! Service was great, but I will keep trying. So far taqueria Yvette is the best!

Last few times I’ve been at La Playa Taqueria, the food was bad. Too bad. The veggies were old and slimy. We ordered the chicken fajita burritos and the chicken had too much fat in them and the veggies tasted old and they were slimy. Bad taste left in our mouth. Couldn’t finish them. Chips and salsa could use a tune up too. Also, Mexican’s don’t get it. Sorry, I’m Mexican too. They were sweeping the floors around us kicking up dust while we were eating. The service wasn’t the best either. They think they are doing you a favor. We seemed to be in their way. It’s the only place out north/​east so you would think they would do better. It’s worth driving a mile further south or west for better food and service.

I have been here 3 times and the staff is always extremely rude.
Overpriced? Yes. How mexican food in this area can be overpriced amazes me. It is cheap food, but when the quality of the food is 10x cheaper then the already inexpensive price you have a HUGE problem.
They cut corners on EVERYTHING. Everything is extra, and if you’re eating there everything is Styrofoam cups, containers everything. Cheap Cheap Cheap and not very good.
I have only gone because pretty much every other place is about the same quality. It’s just sad.
What ever happened to customer service? What ever happened to REAL guacamole? Not this liquidy nasty green thing. What ever happened to FRESH chips?
C’mon! The ingredients in Mexican food are unbelievably cheap anyway, don’t skip steps and quality because you’ve got some vendetta against someone somewhere.
Just because I am white doesn’t mean I don’t know what good Mexican food is. Are they just giving me crap food because they think it’s what I want?
Oh and they WILL mumble in Spanish behind your back.

This place is a blend of a hole in the wall taco shop & a nice sit down Mexican restaurant. The prices are a blend of the two as well. I have been here a handful of times. I enjoy the taco salad but it’s huge so I can never eat the whole thing. I like their salsa bar & I always want more chips in the basket & for .50c you can get more chips which is a deal I can’t pass up. Their tostadas are huge & one of those with chips fills me right up! I ordered their tacos recently & they were the greasiest tacos I’ve ever had so I will not be ordering those again. Overall I say it’s decent Mexican food with a nice atmosphere.

A co-​worker recommended that I try this place after complaining that there was not much of selection in manteca! So me and my boyfriend went there for dinner one night and have been hooked ever since! I love everything on their menu! plus their salsa bar has a really good rojo salsa that’s spicy enough for my asian palette (I’m used to eating whole thai chilis). The décor is really nice as well but it can get really business at dinner so I would recommend calling your order in or taking it to go!

This taqueria allows us to host a church event once a month on Saturdays before they open to the public. I’ve also eaten there a number of times during regular hours. The facility is nice, with a beautiful mural painted around the entire room. The chairs are wicker and more comfortable than most restaurants. Most of the tables are round and seat 5 at max though. The food is pretty typical for a taqueria, but they have some Mexican specialties. Ordering is easy with the full color photos on the wall accurately conveying the menu. They have a salsa bar with different salsa’s and more bottled salsa on each table. A little more pricy than the average taqueria, but the seating and décor makes up for it.

The chips are pretty good here but the salsa wasn’t that great. They do have a huge selection of seafood but I just don’t think the burritos and tacos are as good as other places around here. This isnt a bad place, its just that there are other good places nearby.

You gotta try their carnets quesadillas they are awesome, and there is enough for 2 people to share 1 meal! Love it!

I came here with my friends for dinner on a Sunday night. I got two carne asada tacos along with some horchata! When I got the tacos, the carne asada looked like sisig to me but it was good. 2 bites and my mouth was on fire, like literally. I don’t remember asking for hot sauce on it? My friends kept telling me my face was very red. Thank god I got horchata to lightweight cool the hotness. The horchata was alright, I’ve had better. Anyways, my friend got the chicken quesadilla. Tell me why it was huge. You can actually share the quesadilla with another person which she did loll. My other friend got the tounge burrito which was huge also that the tortilla was breaking apart lol. I never knew this place existed till my friend told me about it. It’s actually located right behind the Chevron gas station.

Service is good never really sat down and eat at the place always have gotten take out which is so convinient since it’s on the way home. The place has a good ambience it really makes you feel like your in the beaches of Mexico, per it’s name La Playa. Huge murals on the wall replicating the beaches of Mexico. Extensive menu from your regular taqueria items plus a an extensive seafood selections. The salsa bar has a wide selections to choose from. I make sure I always get some of the crispy tacos, they are great.
