Steak tips — veggies were cold and undercooked. Sweet potato was fine. Daughters applewood avocado burger looked good but was very well done. Ribs were good. Food coma by out of kitchen was very slow — 2 hours total. Way too long. Ok but has to be better placed in Mankato

Food was ok but service was terrible. Hostess was very nice only highlight of the night. We were by ourselves in the back and there were two tvs. Before we sat down I asked the hostess if she could change the tv to the Iowa football game. She said yes and gladly changed it. Our waitress came out and got our drinks and stuff and changed the game back to the hockey game very rudely. I asked why she changed it and she said because of popularity. There was a tv a few feet to the right with the hockey game. The only other people there said they were fine with the Iowa game. She went back then and asked the manager in green and she yelled at her about the game. I missed the damn game to watch the same damn hockey game on two channels. And our food was not the best either. The food was ok and would be a three star maybe if your staff wasn’t a bunch of bitches except for the hostess. Needless to say I did not leave a tip. Act rude to us like that you won’t get one. You could of even said that you had to keep the hockey game on nicely not rude like a bitch.

I just didn’t think it was worth what I spent. I ordered a salad & a pop. That is not worth $ 15 bucks in my opinion. Plus a lot of the lettuce was brown & not fresh. Also, every time I walk in the place it just had an odor that I can’t really describe. Like an unclean or soured odor. I just feel like it’s filthy in there & that’s not a good feeling when you are at a place to eat!

Grizzly’s is probably one of my favorite restaurants in Mankato. Service was always fast and friendly, food is consistent and unique enough to be memorable, and it has a nice family-oriented environment. Bear Creek Pasta dish is absolutely amazing, and if you are a fan of chicken, give it a try!

My family and I ate lunch there this past Sunday. My daughter’s Mac and cheese had a piece of plastic from the bag it was microwaved in, and my son’s burger still had the paper that separates the raw burger patties on the bun. We told the waitress, and she gave us half off. But still, you should not have to pick through your food to see if there are any foreign objects in it before you eat it. We have been there before, and it was good, so I’ll chalk it up to a horrible cook.

Invest in fly swatters or pest control. We like the place but there’s always flys bugging us, and we shower so it’s not us :-)

This place looked and sounded promising. Just inside the door is a wood fired rotisserie loaded up with chicken which looked and smelled great. They have a big menu but everything pointed toward chicken and ribs. I went for a combo. They said the baby back ribs are smoked. You know the ribs that non-BBQ places serve? No flavor, tough, and pointless? Yeah, that is what they are serving. The ribs were a poorly trimmed with no apparent rub flavor, overcooked, tough and dry, and no obvious sign of smoke. The BBQ sauce was suitable but they don’t serve extra unless you ask and then you get a tiny portion. Please don’t pretend to serve BBQ joint baby backs and present small town supper club fare. The wood roasted chicken would save the day right? No. They served a small and dry looking leg section which had no notable flavor. The sides were acceptable. The wine selection is on par with Applebee’s and the liquor menu lacks prices. The service was okay, nobody seemed excited to be there and everything was rushed. I really wanted to like this place going in the door but wouldn’t do it again. I started with a one star rating but felt cruel, sorry guys but based on my experience I have to believe there is a better choice nearby for dinner.

Have eaten here 4 times and each time was quite underwhelmed. The atmosphere is perhaps a half step above Perkins or Baker’s Square. One steak was like leather which had to be redone. Ordered the shrimp another time which was covered in a greasy sauce that tasted like it came out of a can. That is one thing about Grizzleys — if your meal has a sauce or is marinated be assured it is not a cook made creation, it comes from some bottle or can premade and is obvious. I would expect better from a steak place. Personally I have not had good experiences with the food at Grizzlys however the service has always been good, food comes out quick and for some reason the rest of my family really likes this place. My husband LOVES rotisserie chicken and emphatically insists Grizzly’s chicken is the best. My kids always love the food here.

My family and I stopped here for dinner on our way driving across country, and we tremendously enjoyed our dinner. Delicious food, prompt and friendly service, very reasonable prices. They have a good kids’ menu. I would gladly go back here again if we ever passed through town.

Our server was nice and attentive. We were seated right away. I had a pretty good meal(the chili) but my salad, well, when is Southern Minnesota going to discover that there are other lettuces besides iceberg? It was an anemic salad with one little tomato and two tiny slices of cucumber, and plenty of tasteless iceberg lettuce. Shame on me for getting a salad at a wood-fired burger and chicken joint.

I stopped in here for a beer and burger. Very good burgers. I think the patties might be half pounders. For those of you that tend to go for the two patty burgers, I would advise against it. My buddy got the kodiak burger(2 patties), and it looked like a dangerous amount of burger(in a good way i guess?). I had a bleu cheese bacon burger that was really good. For you connoisseurs of bleu cheese burgers, yes, it was bleu cheese crumbles and not dressing. Also had an order of cheese curds that were of the carnival variety without beeing obnoxiously over sized. Overall everything was tasty and well seasoned. Not sure what happened with Kathleen’s experience that caused her 1 star review back on 2÷9÷2013, but I would actually argue the opposite on every claim that she made.

Food is decent, but didn’t quite find the appeal. Typical burger grill place with the wood roasting. Tried the wood roasted chicken and wasn’t impressed.

Delicious food! My husband and I go out often for meals and we just happened to stop by Grizzly’s in Mankato. We both had the Blackened Rib-Eye and it was delicious. Tender, seasoned perfectly and a nice sized portion. The staff was very attentive and friendly and I can see why this is one of the busiest restaurants in this town. Will definitely return again!

Easter morning found my wife, brother-in-law, and myself driving to [halfway point] Mankato to meet her family for Easter lunch. We pulled up to Grizzly’s and immediately I was thinking Shenaniganz from the movie«Waiting»(Applebee’s /Chili’s for those who haven’t seen the flick). Mediocre food coupled with a gimmicky theme. Grizzly’s does have the gimmicky theme… there are dead animals everywhere, along with beer signs, historical pictures, and nature murals. I don’t mind a «northwoods» atmosphere, thus it was fine in my book. The food, however, was better than expected. After perusing and getting frustrated with the complicated menu I just ordered the walleye entrée, the safe choice. Luckily it was good, and the accompanying soup and vegetables were also tasty. Of course it wasn’t amazing, but it far surpassed my expectations. Also, the varied selection of tap beers was a pleasant surprise.

Stopped by for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with the overall outcome. I was greeted once I got through the front door. I sat at the bar and ordered my lunch from a friendly bartender. The lunch special I had was good tasting and just the right portion for lunch. And the price was very fair at $ 7.99. The restrooms were clean. The service was good. Parking was plentiful. The food was great. The menu had a lot of different choices. I would go back and will next time I am in town. Check them out.
