The staff is very friendly. We had great service considering how busy the restaurant was. The food was delicious. We ordered the porterhouse. Our food came out very quickly. Definitely will visit again.

The good: The best option in Manistee for a fairly priced meal. Very, very consistent. We like that! Good portions. Not cheap, but still very affordable. That’s how a restaurant is supposed to be run. Great atmosphere. Roomy. Very friendly staff. Only hand-dipped onion rings in town that I know of! The bad — Would’ve been five stars if it weren’t for: The prime rib is a pre-packaged product. My wife and I, the first time ever at the Bungalow specifically asked the server if it was a proper prime, slow cooked in an alto-sham, or even slow roasted in the oven. And her reply was«Yes, absolutely» It’s not a bad prime rib, it’s just not what we were told it was. Despite our first time, we’ve been back at least 20 times over the years that we’ve vacationed in Manistee. The steaks are great, the burgers are easily the best in town, and we’ve never had to wait for more than 20 minutes for a table. Be aware though, they are BUSY on the weekends because they do a lot of stuff right!

Food is always delicious but sometimes the service is lacking. Amber is our very favorite waitress, always treats us well. Large bar, many TVs, and great menu.

Great service and even better food! Burgers were awesome and very filling. My daughter had a quesadilla and had enough for lunch the next day.

Had lunch here today. Service was good, food came out in good time and tasted good. I had the philly and fries, nothing fancy. This is the only time I’ve been here but I would go again for sure. The bathrooms were cleaner than mine at home so that was a pleasant surprise.

Easy parking, plenty of handicap spaces as well, ramp as well as steps to get in, so easy accessibility. Menu has lots for everyone to enjoy, seafood, to ribs, to nachos, to entrée size salads. Food is consistently good, wait-staff always friendly, food comes out quick from the kitchen. This is a hidden gem on the edge of Manistee!

Had the Prime Rib. Nothing short of incredible. Best I’ve ever had, melting in my mouth. We only get to Michigan in the spring and fall each year. When we do, we make a trip to the Bungalow, and cap it off with a trip to the casino(not only is the Prime Rib great, but the restaurant must be lucky for us as we’ve won the last two trips). Wonderful service and ambiance. Our friends took us, and it was so good, that the first time I asked to see the manager, who was pleased that we took the time to tell him of our experience. If you’re in the area, try it out, and have the Prime Rib. You will never regret it.

Zero stars. This place is full of rude people and inattentive waitresses. Not to mention shitty food. The drinks are extremely over priced and the food is subpar. You’re better off going to Wendy’s or the tbell/kfc. The old lady“hostess” will just point in a general direction and say sit there. While the waitress fiddles with her phone and screws up your order. Please drive past this dump to downtown manistee. Cheers!

Enjoyed a delicious fried walleye dinner. Fairly quick service. Love the décor; looks like it was done fairly recently. But what cost the fifth star was that you couldn’t find anything other than Fox News to show on the big screen? What better way to spoil one’s appetite than watching talking hairpieces drool all over themselves. Blech.

Came in tonight for my boyfriends birthday. We had Kelly as a waitress and she was very attentive and great! Food came out so quick! And it was very very good! Very impressed.

The space feels like a lumberjack’s lodge inside – pleasant wood walls and comfortable booths. This would be a pleasant place for larger groups, if you’re not distracted by the big TV screens everywhere. It’s thoughtful of the Bungalow to have a veggie burger option. Though comprised of a standard frozen«Gardenburger», it was served on a huge roll with french fries. The menu is quite varied, and all of the portions are large, but they seem to lean too much on Gordon Food Service products. The upright fridge that is visible in the back had part of a GFS chocolate sheet cake in it, along with pre-made iceberg lettuce salads. Given the price point of many of the Bungalow’s dishes, it is a little disappointing to be served pre-made wholesale food.

We decided to try this restaurant after my husband saw online that they had mussels as an appetizer. Not too many places in northern Michigan that you can get them. They were excellent as was the Pepperjack Crab soup that I had. I ordered the Lake Perch and my husband had Whitefish. They were both very good. The entrees came with potatoes, salad, and garlic bread. The portions were quite large, I took half of mine home. We will definitely be back!

Stopped in here on a recommendation from staff member at our hotel. The ambiance is awesome, rustic, cozy. The beers looked cold and frosty.(I didn’t have any) The food… I ordered the Prime Rib for $ 21ish. The plate arrived in a rather Spartan appearance with no garnish. For $ 21 in a small town, I kinda expected more effort. The meat was cooked to order, and was tender. It was pretty salty though. Whatever they put on it before cooking, kinda made it taste… Well… Cheap. They kids meal of chicken and fries was pretty small for $ 5. 2 small pieces of chicken and about 10 fries. My son said the flavor was good though.

Reviews drove us here, full parking lot @ 8 pm on Sat(mid Aug ’14) eve intrigued us, service was great(Jean), owner greeted us on way in and out, food was delicious and plentiful. Sweet BBQ wings were of the best my daughter(and wife) have had. Filet was done to order, garlic mashed excellent. At table: Nachos excellent; NY strip & Mahi Mahi excellent. My wife said, «We’ll be back!» A ringing endorsement. I believe the Bungalow Inn is a Manistee staple w/locals and tourists who feel the same way we do. Keep up the good work! Observations: staff seemed happy to work, bar was busy and efficient, clean, saw a MASSIVE hamburger that another couple split(good choice), still busy when we left @ 9:10

This a very pleasant place. Food is very good along with good selection of beer. Lots of seating capacity with booths and open space with tables that can be arranged to handle larger groups. Staff have always been friendly each time we have been there.

I really like this place. It’s very small town with great food. I went a lot during the NCAA tournament to watch basketball. They have a few TVs and a big screen in the main dining area which made it very convenient and fun. I really enjoyed the prime rib. Although they close kind of early it was still worth it. Definitely a go to.

«This is possibly the worst breakfast I’ve ever had» — My Wife. Not even a ravenous 14 year-old boy could enjoy this food. «Biscuits» like hockey pucks, still in the shape they came out in after being popped out of the tube. Burned eggs. Cheap cheese. Sausage Gravy was old, greasy and tasted nasty. Toast dripping with ladeled on liquid butter. Sub-Maxwell house drek … The waitress was very good, so, that’s something
