Pretty good comedy, very good cast, unjustifiably high ticket prices. If you’re looking for light fare with a great presentation, you’ll have a ball.

This is the first Broadway play I have ever seen — if acting is this good; then I will be going to more plays(in fact I also saw the Nance since). The cast was fantastic; I kind of feel like I’m Sonia, and my roommate is Vanya at the beginning of the play. What can you say about this outstanding cast, Sigourney, David, Kristine were magic and very believable as siblings. Billy is very, very, very hot and talented!!! Shalita & Liesel were fun to watch and interacted very well with the other actors without overshadowing them.

While Sigourney Weaver gets top billing, the show was stolen by David Hyde Pierce and Kristine Nielsen. Christopher Durang’s writing is wonderful. I suspect this play works best for those with a familiarity of Chekhov(the playwright, not the Star Trek character, since the play is filled with allusions to «Cherry Orchard’», «Seagull», «Uncle Vanya» and«Three Sisters»)and the ways of Hollywood(Weaver plays a movie star and Durang clearly understands the pressures on a post ingénue actress), but the play itself is so good that I’m guessing that it would work even for someone who doesn’t get the references. Someone should produce it in Los Angeles.

This is one of the best plays that I’ve seen on Broadway since«August: Osage County.» Christopher Durang’s new play is laugh-out-loud hilarious and is also a great commentary on our culture and values. If you’re a fan of Durang’s other works, you won’t want to miss this play… and the cast is fantastic. Kristine Nielsen steals just about every scene she is in. She’s a force on stage. Don’t miss it!
