The Kitchen NYC

I must say this place is perfect for anyone who needs a commercial kitchen in NYC, there was someone on hand always. I enjoyed the space in 2012 when Culinary Directors at Tommy Bahama trained us on every receipe before the restaurant opened. Very appealing and great for a shoot

I was invited for a special event lunch. Celebrity Cruises was hosting a special menu by their James Beard award winner chef, John Suley at this location just outside of Grand Central. A glass door I’ve walked past many times, next to Potbelly sandwich shop. I couldn’t miss it because there was a giant banner with velvet ropes on the sidewalk. Walking down the narrow and steep staircase, I was greeted by hostesses, a spot light, and camera crew. For a moment I thought I was being filmed for Top Chef. I signed a waiver and was escorted to a cool bar where they were serving cocktails that are served on the cruises. I wish I could have had some but I was here for a business lunch.
$ 40 for a 3 course prix fixe lunch.
First course — Tuna hamachi with cauliflowers and white button mushrooms. How did they know these were two of my favorite things on top of the freshest sushi. I probably could’ve eaten a bigger portion as my main course.
Second course — Seared Halibut with parmesan foam and assorted earthy mushrooms. Delicious, I licked my plate clean!
Third course — Grilled pineapple tart with fresh coconut ice cream. These are the flavors of Miami, so perfectly put together on a plate. For a moment I thought I was in the warm sun of FL.
I enjoyed my lunch here and was even looking for open spots to return for a dinner. I would’ve been happy to come back and eat the same exact dishes from Chef John Suley. I look forward to my next cruise because if this is what they’re serving on Celebrity Cruises, I’d gain so much weight and never get off the boat!
The space is downstairs but with the bright lights, open space, and white sheets draped over the ceiling, it was clean and simple. A great place to host an event and I’ve bookmarked The Kitchen NYC for future events. There was even space in the kitchen for a large Chef’s table.

Went to what might have been one of the best events ever last night at The Kitchen NYC. Rue La La & Lure Fishbar hosted a cocktail and seafood party. It doesn’t get better than that!
The space is gorgeous and the equipment is beautiful, why can’t this be my kitchen! I was talking to the two owners who have a love and passion for food they wanted to start this concept that allowed people to come in for events. They do everything from hosting parties, bringing in chefs for events, such as the one I attended last night or even cooking class I believe.
The space is the perfect size for a good crowd of people. It’s clean, sleek and very modern. I hope there are future events such as this one because I know I’ll be there in a heartbeat!

Went to an amazing event here the other night. I’m no pro chef but even I knew this kitchen was a big deal.
The concept is new and different and it works. The space itself is very flexible which is a huge pro. It can be cozy or open, sophisticated or fun, classroom style or cocktail style. Not much need for decoration since the décor is pretty sexy on its own. But should you want, they can customize just about anything you want. I know a lot of thought went into every single detail of this place and it shows. Location is also a pro being so close to Grand Central Station.
Looking forward to more events here.
