I’ve been going to this salon for several years now. I always stick with Esther as she is the only person who can«lay my edges» and have my curly mane walking out bone straight. The price for a wash/set is $ 15 and for my hair length which is passed my bra strap –you can’t beat. With all that being said I give this place 4 stars because there is room for MAJOR improvement at this salon. None of the staff speak English. The wash station is always a mess, the place could be cleaner. The establishment is so small and so crowded with customers there’s no where to sit/stand. You can be waiting for hours before actually walking out(on average I’m there 2 – 3 hours every time I go). Some of the staff can be rude to customers. The employees will sometimes skip a new customer to take a regular, which isn’t cool if we’re all waiting to get our hair done. The products used to shampoo/condition hair can be better –it’s obvious they’re cheap and watered down. It’s not a salon you’re going to walk into and relax. The bachata is blasting. The women are screaming from one end of the salon to another. There’s a lot going on in this place. I call it an assembly line because everyone is doing so many things at once and you’re running from the wash station, to then get your rollers put in, then running to the dryer and so on… Overall, the place could be more professional but then again what more can you ask of a place that charges only $ 15 for a wash a set…

I think they changed Name I think. Same spot, same staff and they still did the same great job August 2015 when I was in New York. My hair was flowing when I walked out. Years ago and wash set and blow dry was $ 10 now it’s $ 15 but it’s still the best price. Close to the train station another Dominican salon wanted $ 25 and it wasn’t fancy to charge $ 10 more and I trust magic touch or where their name is. It’s on 115 st between 1st ave. my daughter, friend and I have frequent this place for years.

Called«For Ever Beautiful 341 Corp» now. After I haven’t been here in YEARS(since high school), I decided to see if they were still here. They ARE — different name. Same people. Same great prices. They redid the walls(I like). Minus one star because the wash part might get a little messy. The lady was scrubbing hard and talking loud. But again QUALITY. I can reassure you my scalp is squeaky clean. If your looking for something FANCY this is NOT the place. But if ur looking for a fast /good quality wash and set THISIS the place. Ydalina is the owner I believe and she’s the BEST

This salon is a typical dominican salon. They have a flat screen that plays nothing but spanish soap operas and if they’re not doing hair they’re all transfixed on it. Their equipment is outdated, I was sitting sideways on a chair while getting my hair washed. And even tho they said $ 12 for a wash & set they charged me $ 20 because i didnt get under the dryer & an extra $ 5 for a cut. I asked if they did eyebrows and the stylist says ‘yes, 3 dollars’ NOTBAD! but she should’ve mentioned she sucked. she kept running from the front of the store where the wax was to her station with the wax dripping EVERYWHERE, even on another clients hair !! it was disastrous. she didnt even shape my eyebrows she just cleaned around them and left everything all waxy. def. NO tip. When I got home i realized my cut was a lot shorter than i asked and a few strands were uneven. im never going there again ! Lesson Learned !

There are about 10 women working on the day I went there for a wash and blow dry. This salon has absolutely no ambiance and very messy. it’s very loud and some of the women don’t understand english very well. My shampoo girl couldn’t really recommend a good conditioner. This place is very no frills… no drapes or smocks. Be prepared to soaked after the shampoo wash. The reason for the 3 stars… the price was $ 12. You can’t really beat that. Cheap, but not cheap looking. My hair looked decent. The ladies work quickly so you won’t be there long.

I agree with the previous poster Marlene. Kayla was my regular stylist as well and she is very good but she started to be out a lot so I went to Awilda often who was also ok. I had to stop going because it was just becoming too much, with the LOUD music, the LOUD talking amongst stylist, the power constantly shutting off and how cramped it was. I just couldn’t do it anymore.

Magic Touch has certainly lost its touch! I was a regular at the salon until I lost interest in going. My hair wasn’t coming out as fresh as it once did. I believe they were using cheap products and tried to make extra money through deep conditioning EVEN if you didn’t need it. I’ve tried a couple of the stylists when my regular stylist wasn’t there and I didn’t really find them to be skilled. My hair always came out terrible when anyone aside from my stylist did it. They really have to step it up. The main reason alot of people go there is because the cost is fairly decent, but what’s the point of paying cheap if you’re not going to be satisfied when you walk out. I was annoyed that it was so cramped and small. NOSPACE! Its not very comfortable or relaxing. The water was SOCOLD the last couple of times I went there. How can they wash people’s hair with such cold water? UGH! Very disappointed in them as I really liked Magic Touch when I first started going. KAYLA was my stylist and the best at Magic Touch. She is very good and skilled at what she does. I stopped going mainly because of the fact that I couldn’t deal with the cramp salon and the cold water. So my ultimate decision was to try some place new. IF you give this place a shot DEFINITELY try Kayla, she’s good at what she does. I can honestly say that.
