Red Room

I ordered a Moscow Mule and it tasted like aftershave. The blonde girl poured half the bottle of ginger beer in here then asked her co worker if it tasted ok before serving our drinks. When she asked us if it was good, I commented THERE IS TOO MUCH GINGER BEER IN HERE and she walked the other way. This place is now THE DOWNSTAIRS BAR and not the Red Room. Thumbs down

I used to come here years ago when it was still Side Door… apparently it has changed since then, not for the better. A premade mix of music was playing, no more live DJs in the spot. The bartenders this particular Sat night were kind of a mess, one of them threw a bottle in our direction aiming for the trash, and it bounced out, then smashed on the floor at our feet. Good thing we weren’t wearing sandals! And 20 minutes later she did the same thing with a bottlecap that flew out at us after being deflected from the trash! Drinks were meh… moscow mules were OK. At least they weren’t overpriced, $ 10 apiece. The vibe was very unfriendly, a lot of snobby people, nobody smiled when you walked by them and excused yourself to pass. Lame. Some sloppy mess woman spilled her beer from the top level bar into the service area. Gah. Oh yeah and they don’t take cash! WTF?

What a great find for date night! oh, and don’t believe them when they say this place is small… IT“s SMALLER!!!
very cozy and homely with 2 different levels (if you can believe it). comfy seating around and 4 chairs at the bar. 2 different 2 tops occupy the window seating looking out to MB avenue. bartenders were laid back and helpful with drink options. try it out during their «Sunset Hour» to mitigate the costs. oh, and apparently they have a DJ in there on the weekends! we saw the set up on the corner by the bar. didn’t get a chance to stick around to hear the music though.
overall, we highly recommend and we’ll be back again and again!

This place is great for a date night. It’s very small, intimate, and kinda sexy. The drinks were very good, a bit pricey but good, and the bartenders were welcoming and helpful. We weren’t sure what to order and the bartender gave us his list of recommendations which ended up being very good! This place is like small little nook in the corner that can be easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. We went on a weekday night and it was perfect because there were only a couple of us there. Like I said, this place is small so I can imagine getting easily overwhelmed if it were packed. Worth checking out!

The drinks were very tasty, but at $ 12 a pop, I expected a little more in terms of quantity. I had the HuRock, a combination of vodka, cucumber, cilantro, pineapple, & lime. It was very yummy, but there just wasn’t that much of it. I used to order Grape Martinis at this place when it was the Side Door… and 1 cocktail was enough to knock you on your a$$. Not exactly the case with the new menu. My beau ordered a Huckleberry & also thought it was OK.

Stopped in for a drink after dinner, and was greeted with an interesting collection of cocktails on the menu. Opted for the one with Hennessy gin (can’t recall the name), and it was expertly prepared.
Small space, but very comfortable.
