SUMMARY: Great food, kind of dark, but very clean. My friends and I came for lunch. One person ordered a vegetarian panang curry, one friend ordered the green curry with tofu, one friend ordered a eggplant dish with tofu, another friend ordered phad thai with shrimp and I ordered the coconut sole. All of the dishes were fabulous! Both curries were rich with lots of veggies! The stir fried eggplant was amazing! The phad thai was the perfect consistency… Not tough, but not too soft and the shrimp were plump and yummy! My sole was battered and fried, and in a rich curry. I’m so sad that they have CLOSED.

Delivery– We ordered delivery at 6:50pm on a Monday night, estimated delivery time was 7:50−8pm which seemed like such a long wait! The food arrived at 7:52. What we ate– –Thai Iced Tea: It was cream colored! I like a rich, burnt orange, thai tea with a splash of cream. But thats me. This was basically a milkshake with a splash of thai tea flavor. –Crispy Triangle: yummy and flaky, with a good amount of creamy filling. –Pad See Ew with Tofu: It was tasty. Nice big chunks of fried tofu and a varied proportion of the other ingredients. It was my favorite of the dishes we ordered. –Panang Curry with Tofu: The sauce was spicy and very good. The problem I had was that there were no veggies in it except for a few small pieces of cabbage. That said, they were generous with the large chunks of tofu which I found to be less successful in this dish than it was in the Pad See Ew. Price– For all the food above, plus tax & tip, it came to $ 41 Overall– Although I found the food to be good, it was not amazing so I went with a standard three star review. I think we will be back.

I enjoyed this place! Was a little worried when I walked in to notice that the place was dead on a Saturday night, but the food was delicious! First, they have happy hour everyday until 7, amazing. Started off with a $.99 bud light. The edamame was good and the gyoza was delicious! Ended up getting the panang curry for my dinner and was very happy with my choice. My boyfriend got the fire roll and also enjoyed it. We’re confused as to why it was so dead, but we’ll definitely be back.

After 4 — 5 visits I’m finally ready to review. Kah was not my fist exposure to sushi(hey, I’m from the desert) BUT it’s the first place I actually loved sushi. I still can only eat some of the rolls and have not yet gotten used to sashimi. If you’re a beginner you will love the 911 roll. My husband likes all sushi and he really likes the 911 roll as well. Make sure to try the Chinese food and Thai dishes as well. We’ve had some really good curry and(believe it or not) orange chicken. Make sure to try the coconut rice if you like coconut flavor. I do have to say the service used to be very slow but they have gotten better. We went for dinner last night(8÷15÷13) and our waiter was really quick. Point being, the service seems to be improving. I’ll point out that this place is never packed like I’d expect most MB/HB Asian joints. Not sure if it’s the weird location or small parking lot. We park on the street and there are no issues. The lot is tiny so if you have a large car go for the street.

We arrived at 6:30 on a Saturday night one of 4 parties in the place. My wife and I order cocktails she had a martini I had a Mojito. They must store the glasses on top of an oven. Both my rounds of drinks arrived with the ice mostly melted. I think they used tap water rather than seltzer. The drink was totally flat. It was still fairly strong. My wife’s martini was room temp. Then we ordered several roll plates. They were all very good. The Kah Soup was a bit thin. It had tons of salad mushrooms floating on top. The rolls were the redemption. They were all good. I’d rather have the sauce on the side but they were well constructed and had quality ingredients. Dragon Roll Dynamite Roll Spider Roll Rainbow Roll I’ll give it another shot… sans drinks.

«I’ve experienced better» is an understatement, but the food was okay. Came here for my dad’s birthday and I should have paid attention to the other reviews. For what you pay for and the service you receive, you’d be better off going else where. The service. We showed up and asked for a table, and the hostess genuinely did not seem to think she could find anywhere to sit us, in spite there being about ten empty tables. We had to help her through the problem solving process, and eventually were seated. The food. The food ranged from orange chicken to sushi. We had calamari and gyoza for appetizers, the calamari was awfully chewy and no joke, the gyoza was cold! It was good, but cold! The kids who had orange chicken seemed pleased, my step mom ordered the mango salad and it was missing mangos. I had the fire roll which was phenomenal, but I seemed to be the only one pleased with my dinner. My dad had the wonton soup, and spent quite a large amount of time telling us about other asian restaurants in the area. The drinks. I had originally wanted to drink up, however after an awkward encounter with the hostess, decided on tea and water. The water was most definitely faucet water(Los Angeles? gross.), and the tea was just hot water with little tea bags. Classy. Our Kah experience ended when the hostess came to inform us that where we were seated was where a DJ would be setting up, so we left. I don’t think we’ll ever return.

We went here for the 3rd time, and this time with a GroupOn coupon. The menu has been upgraded, and seems to have a greater selection of items. We had — Kah soup — excellent — Miso Soup — very good — Spider roll — excellent — Tuna Hand Roll — Excellent — Pet Sew Ew — SPECTACULAR! — Dynamite roll — Excellent! With a couple of glasses of wine(before discount) came to $ 65. That is spectacular.

This place is a little gem. We came because we had a groupon that was about to expire. If not for the groupon I never would have came across this place. To start we went crispy rice, and a order of chicken sate. Both were excelent. The crispy rice was so good, I liked it better than Katsuya in Glendale. For our entrees we ordered Pad See Ew and Orange Chix. The PSE was really good. Portion size was enough for 2 with leftover. Orange Chix was a far cry from Panda. The entire bill came to $ 30. I will be back.

Good mixture of privacy, good drinks, good food and televisions to watch Laker games. Taline is the best bartender, hands down.

My coworkers and I go for the lunch quite often, and I’m a fan. This review is for lunch. The curry is just the thing on a cold day. Portion sizes are good. Prices are good. Food is tasty. Interior is very nice and cozy… wish they would use the fireplace on cold days. Great place for a quiet business lunch Service is always good.

I’ve seen this restaurant come up on my Unilocal searches for restaurants in MB often so when I had my girls night out, I figured this might be the time to try. We went on a Friday night. I made reservations for 6 people for 8pm dinner. When I got there, the place was pretty dead. The layout wasn’t bad… the bar/lounge area is at the right side of the entrance with several TV screens. We ordered gyoza and calamari for appetizers. We also ordered 3 sushi rolls — 911, Rolls Royce roll and another one that I can’t remember. Two girls ordered a curry dish and pad thai. The curry was good. The pad thai was too much on the sweet side. I was terribly disappointed with the calamari, gyoza and the sushi dish. The gyoza had a curry sauce that came with it… it was like dumplings and not the pan fried gyoza. The calamari was sweet and sticky because of the batter they used. The rolls were falling apart. Each roll that was picked up kept crumbling under the chopsticks! It was frustrating trying to put it onto the plate. Overall food experience was a let down. I’m pretty sure I’m not gonna try this place anytime soon. Parking is available in the back parking lot and street parking. Service was good… well it wasn’t busy at all on a Friday night.

I live nearby but had never been to Kah before because my SO doesn’t like«the look of it» and refuses to go there. Fair enough. There were numerous failed restaurants in this location in rapid succession before Kah opened. The cocktail and wine list here is good, and the happy hour deals are decent. We tried the fantastic roll — I am a sucker for deep fried sushi. It was good but small — only 5 pieces, not 8. Maybe this was because it was on happy hour pricing. We also ordered the vegetable rolls, which were very good, and the broccoli and mushroom wok dish with tofu, which was yummy, but did not come with rice. This is a major pet peeve of mine — it really bothers me to have to pay $ 1.50 extra to get a half cup of plain rice a la carte with a dish that is clearly intended to be served with rice. I think Kah has a real identity problem — it clearly wants to be a lounge/club, but the location works hard against it in that goal. I really cannot imagine anyone paying for bottle service(advertised throughout the bar area) here, two doors down from Target. Occasionally I have seen what looks like a sorority mixer taking place there, but otherwise it is dead on most weekend nights. The food was fine but nothing special, probably because they’re trying to do too many things. They should do a few fusion/combo dishes, sushi rolls, and appetizers, and they’d be fine. They can lose the rest.

Living in the Beach Cities I was constantly getting advertisements for Kah via mail, and was initially a bit skeptical of the legitimacy of their seemingly awesome happy hours with 99 cent beers(yes, this is true and awessssommmeee) and quality of sushi. I couldn’t resist any longer when a Groupon came around, so I made my way over one evening to grab a quick dinner. First, I was completely surprised by how nice the interior of the restaurant is. Although its on the smaller side, they really do mean restaurant and lounge, as the have standard tables for seating, a nice modern bar, and a small area for lounging and sipping cocktails in style. Looks like a fun place to hang out with the girls! Because I was flying solo I opted to dine at the bar. Bartender was surprisingly attentive and gave me just the right amount of service. Not too overbearing but was there when I needed him. Now on to what I ordered: — Shrimp Wonton soup: $ 6.50 for the ‘small’ may seem a bit much at first glance, but trust me, the bowl is generous and its well worth it. This is easily one of the best soups I’ve ever had. Complex flavors made for a delicious bowl of hearty salty goodness. Highly recommended — Avocado Rolls(as per usual): $ 4.95 was a bit steep for 6pcs of(small) maki sized rolls. They were good and were topped with toasted sesame seeds which wasn’t especially good or bad, but added a different flavor. I wouldn’t recommend ordering these just because they’re so small for what you get. Go with something more dynamic, as other rolls are priced better and are a bit more exciting. Hot Jasmine Tea: $ 2.50. Nice hot cup of steaming tea made for a perfect end to my meal. Overall impression was that Kah seems like a pretty cool place to eat or hangout and drink. They also offer a phenomenal happy hour that’s definitely worth checking out.

The food is not bad, but the service is incredibly slow. I’ve been here for both dinner and lunch… I like that there is a cheaper lunch menu but when we were here, not everyone got their food at the same time. Val didn’t get her food until 30 minutes after we all got our food. The same thing happened for dinner, there were three of us, and the third person’s food did not come out until ten minutes later. By that time, both of our dishes were already cold. I don’t think I would come back here on my own. IF someone suggests it I’ll probably go.

I’ve been to Kah a few times, with the most recent visit last night. This place is OK. Kah has a fusion sort of menu, with sushi and cooked dishes inspired by several different Asian countries. The menu tends to lean toward the sweet tastes. Last night’s selections included the pineapple fried rice, the hoisin duck rolls(the best of what we ordered) and the broccoli and mushroom with shrimp. The flavors on everything were pretty mild(as far as intensity of flavor – we didn’t order anything spicy). Service is attentive, at times almost too much so. Literally the last minute the last spoonful was lifted from a plate, someone came by to whisk the plate away. I appreciate that nothing lingered, but this was so swift, it came across as rushed. I’ll come here again, but it’s not necessarily a place I crave.

Ambiance: Newly opened a couple months ago. Came here earlier this evening for my friend’s birthday. Furniture, decorations, and even the restroom had a nice vibe to it. Service: The servers worked quickly and attentatively to accomodate the party of 22 people. Thank you for being so awesome to us! Location: Parking is limited around the back of the restaurant, but there are additional spaces to be found diagonally to the restaurant on Oak St. Food and price: $ 6⁄6 pieces in the roll at happy hour price. ~Fantastic roll(The roll is lightly deep-fried tempura style on the outside, and on the inside is filled with spicy tuna, imitation crab, and avocado. Accompanying it is their orange mayo, sweet ponzu sauce, sesame seeds, green onion bits, rice, and a sprinkle of masago. It was good., but could’ve been better had they not used browning and hard avocado pieces. I enjoyed it more than the next roll… read on for more info!) ~Manhatten roll(This was also a tempura-style roll, filled with imitation crab, a slice of jalapeño, cream cheese, rice and more sweet ponzu sauce. I was very disappointed with this roll due to how rich and creamy it was… it ruined the better tasting roll I had previously to this, which has ultimately made me decide to never try sushi rolls with cream cheese in it. It was filling, but also made me sick to my stomach trying to finish both rolls… I had two pieces left over from this.) ~Water was tap and not cold… meh. ~Thai iced tea was delicious. Story: Went here for my friend’s birthday dinner and they were really nice and allowed us to have food and drinks from the happy hour menu until it ended and continued to serve us through dinner time. They seem like a fusion type of restaurant that serves Japanese, Thai, and Chinese food. Pretty neat =) I might have to come back to check out their regular menu sometime when I’m in the area. Tip: ~There is happy hour from 5−7pm and then 9-close. They have an entirely separate menu for happy hour, which includes appetizers, cut rolls, hand rolls, certain sets/combos, and 50% off alcohol beverages. ~There is automatic 18% gratituty included in your bill. ~They’re really nice in allowing the group to use 10% off coupon from checking in on Unilocal with your phone. HOWEVER, discount does not apply towards happy hour purchases.

Came here on a Monday night for happy hour. This place was DEAD! There was no one here!!! Anyway this place is really really nice décor. It totally has the potential of being 4 stars but the service isn’t much to be desired. How about you don’t take away my half eaten food when I’m not done with it! To quick to clean up plates when we’re not done eating. The food was very yummy as was the wine(cabernet) and sake. But when we asked for a spicy salmon roll, they informed us they couldn’t make it, they could only make the hand roll. The only roll they could make at that time was a spicy scallop roll. REALLY??? How hard is it to make a regular roll? If you can make a hand roll, you can make a regular cut roll. Anyway… still got the 10% for checking in. But seriously, for such a nice joint, learn to serve and give good service and oh yeah, get an A for your inspection and not a B!!!

Love-love-love it! I’ve ordered lunch for delivery a couple times now from this place and have been at least 90% satisfied with the food and delivery time each time. Today I got the Asian Sesame Chicken Salad and the Drunken Noodles w/Chicken. I love the dressing that comes w/the salad, a creamy miso sesame concoction. The Drunken Noodles, however, could stand to live up to the spicy-indicating asterisk. Or maybe I have just lit my gut on fire with so many hot sauces and peppers that I am immune to spicy foods. Natalee Thai has their Spicy Monsoon Noodle, Siamese Garden has their Spicy Spaghetti and Kah doesn’t touch the intensity of either of these dishes. I’m sure they would turn up the heat if I asked for it… and then I might be sorry. But that is not going to prevent me from ordering from this place in the future. Each time I was quoted a 40 – 45 minute wait time for my lunch, it arrived in 10 – 15. Will check out their happy hour one of these days. The exotic drinks sound mighty enticing… one of these days.
