Had couple of beers and fish and chips. Definitely pub food, but good. Service was excellent. The waitress was personable, funny and straight shooter. The hostess and manager were extremely friendly. They even changed the tv to the channel we requested(go Knicks!!). Will go back. Live music and a overall welcoming atmosphere.

Edison’s Ale House is the consummate neighborhood place, yet one that is very open and friendly to «outsiders»(like us :) We had stopped in while having time to kill waiting to see a local film in the early Fall(2015.) We’ve since made subsequent visits and here’s our impressions; We’ve been spoiled by the old time outer borough«pubs» of the 80’s and 90’s that are disappearing throughout Brooklyn and Queens as new businesses and gentrification change the make up of the area’s. So we were pleasantly surprised to find that sort of old time ambiance inside Edison’s. The crowd ranges from early 20’s, to middle aged types right up to seniors and it ranges from working class to the upscale all mixing together. Gotta love it. There’s no «We’re regulars» attitude to contend with, nor have we ever sensed a «clique» within. And that’s simply because the excellent staff sets the tone. This is especially true of those working behind the bar. A special shout out has to go to Brittany, who manages to work the bar, up and down, while engaging in intelligent banter with everyone along the bar. She keeps both the drink orders and the convo flowing without missing a beat. If you’ve ever tended bar, you can appreciate how difficult that actually can be. The drinks are very reasonably priced and the intelligent and witty conversations from the barkeeps just make it a very pleasant experience. The menu is a bit pricey, however, so select accordingly. The wait staff is excellent and the food is very good quality with decent portions, so overall, it evens out to a good dinner experience, considering it’s pub fare. The place itself is nothing fancy inside, with average décor and dimmed lighting and that’s exactly how we like it. Unpretentious. It’s big enough to accommodate nice crowds, but small enough to have that chummy pub feel. Overall, it’s an excellent place for a quick bite, and a round or two, or for a nice weekend night out.

Great to place to watch the game. Decent bar food and plenty of beers to chose from. Parking in rear is convenient. Our waitress Dani was great and put up with my drunk friends.

How many good eats are there in this area? Not many. First time in here 5 stars. Some of the best food at ½ the price. Really good. I had the ceaser salad, spinache artichoke dip, chicken pot pie and i tasted my moms burger. All of it was YUM.

Really disappointed. Edison’s Ale House is a local establishment in Manhasset. When you first walk in, you have a good bar feel. Dim lights, sitting in a booth, 9 televisions, etc. Going there, I wasnt expecting amazing food but i wanted decent food to eat for dinner. My boyfriend and I ordered the sampler appetizer and baked clams. The sampler included 4 wings, 4 mozzarella sticks and 4 potato skins(really nice sized portion). The wings and potato skins I thought were alright but the mozzarella sticks were so disappointing. They tasted like they just came out of the microwave and the cheese was like plastic. The baked clams were also okay. They were pretty loaded with bread crumbs and chewy clam pieces. They had a good seasoning to them. The bill came out to $ 30 with only these two dishes and no drinks, just water. Really not worth it. There are so many other restaurants where $ 30 will get you a lot of quality food for the same price. Won’t be coming back anytime soon which is very unfortunate. I live so close and I wanted to like this place and become a regular. Wanted to like it but I cant.

Edison’s Ale House is a definite place to stop by if you’re ever in Manhasset, Long Island. The place is comfy, the people are classy and cool, and it’s right by the LIRR Manhasset stop. Every Sunday they have a live band playing, which is nice. On other nights the place is less crowded, but still is a nice hangout or grab-a-drink spot. I recommend getting the wings, ordering a delerium, and relaxing here if you’re in the area.

Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff, consistently good food. My favorite dish is Chopped steak which is juicy and served rare as ordered.

Never will I return. I heard they had decent Buffalo wings, so I called in an order for take-out. Figured I’d enjoy some tasty wings and watch the game at home. When I went to pick up the wings, I noticed that they overcharged me. When I asked about it, some knucklehead behind the bar barks«Hey, you think those aluminum take-out containers are free? If I gotta pay for ‘em, so do you!». WTF?!! Have you ever heard of a food establishment applying a surcharge to cover their packaging costs? If I ate the wings in the bar, would I have to pay for the dishwasher to clean the friggin plate? Like I said, never again. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere! P. S. Edison’s wings sucked. Get Atomic Wings at the Brew House in New Hyde Park. Now those are the real deal — and I should know since I lived in Buffalo!

If you want a local place that has the look and feel of «cheers», then this is your bar. Many of the patrons are regulars. The food is decent. The place is huge and there is always room to sit at the bar with a buddy or two. Also, this place is quiet for a bar, which means you can actually have a real conversation with a freind without having to shout. Pros: The biggest pro is the head bartender, Brittany. She keeps the place running and the vibe friendly. Great beers on tap. Plenty of parking in the back. Quiet. Cons: Almost never single girls here

I really like Edison’s Ale house. I am very surprised to see the bad reviews, its the best spot in Manhasset to grab a beer and watch a match Staff here are extremely nice and the beers are great I never had anything big to eat besides some side dishes which were all great,

Fun place to watch a NFL game and the live music is fun. But the beer list is nothing special and the food is not good ATALL. They give you a grilled chicken sandwich that tastes worse than what I make at home and charge 15 $. My suggestion is to grab a pizza across the street and come here to watch the game.

I’ve been here once before with friends and had a good time, so I decided to introduce a beer-loving friend to this place… which was a horrible decision. We originally had a great server who was really helpful, and then suddenly another server decided to take over in the middle of our order(she was middle-aged, curly brown hair and I guess was in charge?). She then scolded the other server and said she should’ve carded us, which I completely understand but she was very rude. It was a Monday night at 7pm. Of course we brought out the IDs, and she continued to stand there without saying anything else. When we finally figured out what we wanted to order, we decided to share pasta since we weren’t too hungry. Apparently, they charge $ 4 extra for sharing a $ 14 penne a la vodka. Absurd! I’ve never been to a place that charges for sharing! This place must be really struggling to do that and risk losing customers. I’m certainly not coming back and bringing my friends because that was embarrassing. We came here to catch up and have a good time, but she killed the friendly atmosphere. I ordered my $ 10 nachos that came out burned black on the edges. Ended up taking most of it to-go along with my service.

Horrible. Service at the bar was slow as shit. Their wings were inedible. I had one and left the rest. They tasted like they were cooked the week prior and and greasy. I’ll never go back to this dump. Could be a great pub if they got their act together. Should have listened to the other poor reviews.

Divey locals bar with meh food was meh overall. Bartender was nice enough, service was fine. Selection was fine. Prices were fine… nothing was good. In need of a renovation and/or new chef this place wasn’t necessarily bad but it wasn’t good.

SOMEONENEEDSTOCALLBARRESCUEONTHISPLACE! I came here for a friend’s birthday celebration with about 20 other people and we were looking to spend the night there and enjoy ourselves. From the minute our group walked in the bartender was extremely rude and sarcastic. He wasn’t happy that different people wanted to buy rounds. He wasn’t happy with our drink requests(umm hello, we’re paying for them!) and ultimately we were kicked out because someone in our group requested a chilled shot. We witnessed him take shots with some of the customers so I guess his nasty attitude can be attributed to him being drunk but the last time I checked, as a bartender you shouldn’t be drinking on the job! I was absolutely shocked and appalled when he started yelling at our entire group and told us to leave! I will never return to this place and I don’t think anyone should waste their time or money on this dump.

I’ve been here a couple times. First time was decent but the last time I went in might be the last time for good. Slow service on a weeknight? yeah that happens everyone has a bad night once and a while. Realllllllllly bland food? ok that sucks. Musty tasting beer? I used to bartend so I know what a fresh brew tastes like. It’s a bummer because there aren’t too many decent places to grab a tasty beer w/food near my hometown. Meh.

This is only my second time at Edisons, but as before, it didn’t disappoint. I went in to try something different than the burger I had, but I had that craving for beef, so I ordered the chopped steak, cooked medium. It came with a soup or salad, veggies, mashed potatoes and a side order of gravy. I asked for the New England Clam Chowder instead of the salad. This was listed as one of the day’s specials, and it was good. It was a flavorful, thick, hearty chowder, with lots of potatoes and clams. Then I was served the chopped steak. It was like three times the size of their great burger, served on a bed of mashed potatoes and vegetables(broccoli, cauliflower and string beans), and topped with a large mound of sauteed onions and mushrooms. The very nice waitress asked me if I wanted bread but I declined. I did accept the side order of gravy to pour over my entrée but it wasn’t even necessary. I had a Stella Artois Belgium beer on tap to wash it all down. That’s it, I was full! No coffee, no dessert for me. Just bring the check. So $ 18 for the entrée, $ 6.25 for the beer, then tax and tip and done. The pub is clean as is the bathroom. The wait staff is pleasant and efficient, prices are good and the food is very good. There’s street parking and a parking lot in the rear of the building, so you’ve got no excuse not to try this place.
