Sandwhich /poboy shop. Average menu. Nothing that stands out. Average price. Dine in or take out.

Went in for dinner and had a decent roast beef poboy. The down side is the menu is a complete rip off from the Bears Poboys that was directly next door to this location. And the $ 18.95 oyster poboy is comical at best.

The BEST roast beef po-boy since Shortstops on the Southshore. Took awhile to get food, but theybwe slammed busy. Did their best. Shrimp po-boy is excellent, overflowing with shrimp.

This a decent poboy shop. Service is real slow even if you call ahead and order. The ferdie is good but too much roast beef and little ham to balance the flavors of the true ferdie taste. The roast beef they will pile on but even with gravy is very dry. I also have tried the club and it was packed with meat but very dry. It is expensive for a poboy shop given the product they are giving.

This is a great poboy shop. Open Sunday! The roast beef is fantastic. It is one of the best in the area. Great debris. The onion rings are very well done as well. I’ve also had the shrimp which also good. But I am a roast beef poboy junky so I usually go with that to judge a poboy shop. This place nails it! One thing is orders are slow to come out but the wait is worth it.

People were nice but that’s where it stops. Went because it was recommended. Way overpriced for two very dry and cold burgers. Person who brought them out did say we had the wrong number so they may have been sitting in the back a while.

I ordered the ferdie… now when you order a ferdie, you are ordering it cause you love the ham and melted Swiss taste with your roastbeef… You are looking for that perfect balance between the ham, roastbeef, and Swiss… Back to my actual order… I ordered the ferdie because I like the taste of ham and roast beef and Swiss… I don’t order a ferdie for a 95% roastbeef to 5% ham combo… how can you even taste the ham when you only put 1 or 2 thinly sliced pieces of ham on it? You can’t. And that was the problem. I felt like I was eating a regular roastbeef. It was missing that ham flavor that us ferdie lovers want!!! I’m not saying it wasn’t a decent RB poboy… it was… but nothing that stands out to me… Please give me 60% roast and 40% ham or 65⁄35 Anything but 95⁄5. Bears has my heart and always will.

The food is ok and the service is friendly. I have to give two stars because it is waaaaaaayyyyy overpriced. By the time you order a sandwich, fries, and a drink you are paying $ 20 or more.

Two visits thus far, several days apart and will return to try other menu items. My first Po-Boy was the roast beef. Initial eye appeal was good, a lot of beef. First bite, taste was better than just good, but with some reservations. The actual beef roast type, most likely eye of round, possible sirloin tip tend to be very lean(which may be favored by some folks). This cut tends to fall apart and gives a dry taste that depends on gravy to carry the flavor and mouth feel. Speaking of gravy, there was none, more like drippings or liquids produced in the cooking process. There was an exceptional beef flavor which carried the sandwich, but with such a thin watery gravy the French bread became mush very quickly which was hard to get past this detractor. 2nd visit, I had the burger Po-Boy. This was good on all counts. The amount of beef patty was on the plus plus side and is a matter of personal preference, but it was a good sandwich. Will try onion rings, and other items on following visits.

Compared to other places with comparable if not better quality the po-boy I got here was $ 4.00 more than other place in the French Quarter where you expect to pay more. Food was ok definitely not worth the extra price.

Went here after hearing good things. Well it didn’t measure up. I do have to say the onion rings were the BEST I’ve ever eaten BUT the Roast Beef was the worst! VERY dry with no taste. Gravy was so watery that the bread fell apart immediately after coming to the table. The so-called french bread seemed more the consistency of a roll. This was my one and only visit here.

I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I made a Unilocal account just to share with everyone how great of a place this is. 5 stars does not do The Poboy Company justice. After a game in 90 degree weather I was ready to eat a cow, however I settled on The Poboy Company. Since I was a couple miles away with construction in between I got there 10 minutes after they closed. After asking them nicely if they could make anything they happily agreed. I didn’t want to hold them up too long so I changed my order from a fried oyster poboy to a roast beef poboy since they told me they always have roast beef. The chef looked at me funny and told me I could get anything I wanted, so I ordered the fried oyster. All the staff were wonderful, there were only 3 of them however they couldn’t have been nicer to me. They all made me feel welcome and had smiles on their faces the entire time. Here’s what I’m still in shock over, the manager handed me the bag with my poboy in it and gave me a free fries and small roast beef poboy, «just so you can try it». I’ve never witnessed such kindness and generosity from people in the restaurant business. I thanked them a million times as I left and am grinning like an idiot thinking about it right now. Can’t forget about the food. The poboys were delicious, as I expected. I think if you got anything from there it would be delicious. Oysters were excellent and roast beef was worth dying for. And the fries were definitely better than most fries you get at a poboy joint. Conclusion: If you have a pulse and/or a digestive system this is the place to satisfy your hunger. Everything here is 5 stars, no question about it. Definitely one of the best poboys I’ve ever had. Big ups to The Poboy Company!!!

It’s just ok. Not the best roast beef. Times still has the best burger and better onion rings. Pontchartrain poboys is better. Every place is better than Bears. I wanted to like this place, but I won’t go back.

BEST and FAVORITE place for a Po-boy! And not just on the Northshore. I always order the Ferdi, which is a roast beef Po-boy with a slice of ham. I have tried the fried shrimp po-boy which is awesome too. The batter they use is very tasty and flavorful. Their fries are also battered and taste great! The owner cooks in the kitchen and is always around to greet customers if they aren’t too busy, which is a great touch because of his pleasant personality and the fact that he cares if people really like the food. One other big aspect to The Po-Boy Co. is the interior of the restaurant. The décor is very simple, contemporary, and appetizing. and everything is always very clean. Always a very nice experience. Quick food that tastes great and makes ya full!

I wanted to like this place more than I actually did. I had read about it in the T-P and it sounded so good, like Parkway come to the Northshore! Then I went. We met the owner, he was cool. He stressed the quality and how they strived to perfection. They were out of red onion rings though. We got the regular onion rings. They were good, but I love red onions. The po-boys…we got one surf n turf and one catfish. The roast beef and debris were great. The fried seafood did not seem like it was fried long enough, so it was really soft. The catfish had the texture like it was grilled, not fried. The shrimp pretty much the same way. I get it, you’re trying not to overfry and make the food really tough, but there’s also a point where things can be underfried, and this seafood was underfried. In addition to that, the bread kind of broke down because it was so soft. It was a bit pricey considering, so it won’t be a top of the list favorite. We’ll probably make a return visit though and hopefully have the experience we thought we’d have the first time.

Excellent poboys. Husband and I got the ferdie and it was delicious. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because the place is too small and I would prefer table service over counter.

So my wife and I were visiting from Seattle, WA and stopped here to eat our first Po Boy sandwich ever! Having just crossed the causeway coming up from New Orleans, we stopped in to grab a bite. For other reasons, my wife and I were feeling a little down in the dumps. We walked in and ordered our sandwhiches from Chad and his wife(the owners) and proceeded to talk about the area. After eating here, I can confirm two things — there is a God and He has the nicest two angels making the best damn Po Boy sandwhiches around. :) Having eaten the worlds best Po Boys and talked with the nicest people, my wife and I left there feeling much better — thank you! What impressed me more was that Chad and his wife talked with all the regular folks that came in the store.

I ate here the other day with my roommates and we all really enjoyed it. We got the oyster, the roast beef, and the surf and turf(shrimp and roast beef), an order of onion rings and a small order of fries. It was all delicious. I refuse to use the word«overstuffed» because I dont believe you can over stuff a roast beef poboy. It was awesome! They managed to stuffed it just to the point where you are left with a few extra bites of roast beef debris when your done with your sandwich. The bread that they used was perfect for their poboys. I would totally eat here again!

The roast beef Po-boy here is amongst the best in the area. My name is John and I love roast beef poor boys. For years I have been scouring the internet searching for bits of information on where to find the next great version. Thanks to a recent article, I discovered The Po-Boy Company. The one thing I do not like is the lack of a website. To find a menu I was forced to go on Urbanspoon and that version was blurry. I really wish the menu at least was available online. Figuring they would have roast beef since it was featured in the article, I placed a call. When I arrived I discovered that the restaurant is all new on the inside. It is the type of place where you order at the counter and your food is brought out to you. The menu is pretty standard as far as po-boy places go and all of the mainstays are available. But I’m not here to talk about just any po-boy. My first bite into their roast beef was meaty bliss. The meat was obviously home cooked and not just slices of meat in watery gravy. The taste was just what one would expect in a great po-boy meaning that meaty garlicky flavor all New Orleanians have been raised to love. Besides the meat, the next most important thing about a good po-boy is the bread. Their version used the appropriate New Orleans style bread with the right amount of bite. They offered an extra crispy version, but I was interested in their standard offering. As far as dressing went, there was a perfect ratio of mayo and fillings to meat. That is the third most important factor when judging a po-boy. My one criticism of the sandwich was that I would have like more gravy. While flavorful, the addition of slightly more gravy would have set this sandwich even further apart from its competitors. In summary, come here if you want a great roast beef.
