I cannot believe I keep giving this place a chance. It is a sad, sorry excuse for BBQ Portions are lacking and tastes are bland. Presentations never meet my expectations, which really aren’t that high. Won’t be back. If you like McDonald’s and wish they had BBQ, this is your place!

I could eat barbecue everyday, I love it that much! I say that because my expectation for what’s good may be a bit more demanding than others. While voodoo isn’t bad I wouldn’t rank them anywhere near the best(Abita Barbecue, Q New Orleans, or The Joint) — unlike those places which are the best, this place doesn’t have any real unique flavor or distinguishing characteristics. When you have what I would consider the best barbecue you get a flavor that stands out, a rich smokiness that doesn’t over power but leaves you satisfied and wanting more. That said, voodoo is your typical run of the mill barbecue that has a good smokey flavor but again nothing unique. The chicken is juicy and evenly seasoned, the pulled pork is firm but very tasty, the brisket is nicely sliced without to much fat. Their corn pudding is unique and quite honestly my favorite thing there. The corn bread is also respectable, a nice firm outer layer, a light crunch and a soft, moist center. They have three barbecue sauces all different(a classic vinegar base, a sweeter more traditional style, and a spicy one), but all well done and flavorable. One of my biggest issues with this place is the price, you could easily spend $ 15+ for the two meat combo with a drink, if the portions were more generous this might be ok, but you get $ 8-$ 10 worth of food so for that reason alone it’s not a place I frequent.

They have a new menu and I order the«carnival» platter, which offers a little each of sausage, brisket, pulled pork and chicken. However, when served, this was bits of leftover meats that had been stirred and stirred in a pot with some BBQ sauce — so long that the sauce had reduced until it was overpoweringly cloying. The meat was overcooked and it was just a mess of BLAH. The sides(baked beans and corn pudding) were tasty. The meat dish was a HORRIBLEDISAPPOINTMENT — so bad that I will not be patronizing this establishment again any time soon.

I use to love this place, but recently it has been going downhill. On top of that, my brisket platter that use to cost $ 8.79 after tax is now $ 13.04. That’s insane!!! Will not be back??? thats a 50% price increase.

The staff here is super friendly and the service is great. Everything on the menu is good. My favorites are the pulled pork with MOJO sauce, corn grits, mac n cheese, and the Mardi Gras Salad.

I recommend eating at a VooDoo BBQ& Grill. Pork, chicken, brisket and turkey. I got the brisket sandwich and two sides corn pudding and sweet potato soufflé both were very good. There sauces mango crystal was there spicy, I mixed the cane vinegar witch was very good by its self with the mojo there New Orleans style sauce. Dave got stuffed baked potato cheese, sour cream, lots of butter and green onions and the best beef brisket topped with BBQ sauce. A lot more sides. Fried shrimp(po-boy) ribs, salads, burgers sounds good right.

First time eating here. The place was empty except for one other table. I got a full rack of ribs with two sides. The ribs were a little chewy and ALL of their sauces are weak. The corn pudding was dry but still tasty. The potato salad was very mayo –e. Very. She got a pulled pork sandwich with loaded potato. The pulled pork was tender but again, their sauces are weak. The loaded baked potato literally had a glob of butter on it that had to be placed in a napkin. Finally, the beer was warm. Overall, it wasn’t bad. It was just wasn’t worth the $ 50.

I love this place. The BBQ is decent… but the Corn Pudding is off the charts. And the sweet potato soufflé is fantastic. For a chain this is amazing. Yes you can get better BBQ elsewhere. But If you just want to stop in and eat this place is great. I wish they had one near my house.

Everytime I come down south I get BBQ. Had the brisket and it was pretty bland. You can get away with that up north but not in any state south of the mason Dixon. I do like their versions of BBQ sauce however.

Decent for a chain BBQ restaurant. Thought the ribs were a little too fall off the bone but had good flavor. Got order to go and was ready when I got there.

I love this place, since The Shed is too far, this place satisfies my love for good BBQ. The Graveyard with pork and chicken is highly recommended, best bang for buck and taste great! Only«complaint» is the side sizes could be a little bigger as their mac n cheese is oh em ge good.

I’ve had better, and I’ve certainly had worse. Brisket is hit and miss. Some times it’s more moist than others. Pulled Pork is pretty good. Nice smokey flavor. Sausages and Ribs are fair. Both were a bit tough. Jerk Chicken is quite good. Nice Jerk flavors. Worth a try. Corn Pudding is great! A must have on any and all visits! Location is large so seating really isn’t an issue. Nor is parking. Like everything else in Mandeville, I wish they were open a bit later.

Ordered 2 loaded potatoes waited nearly 20 minutes with only 2 other customers in the place, and they bring them out with hardly any meat, cold and about what would be a half stick of ice cold butter. I’ve been to other Voodoo’s and this one does not live up at all no wonder this place is dead! Won’t be waisting my time or money again.

Food was what you can expect from a fast food restaurant. My BBQ brisket was no more than room temp and my chicken was like eating cardboard. We were very disappointed. My kids didnt even care for it at all. The best dish out of six was a salad If you are looking for good backyard BBQ… Voodoo isn’t it.

Voodoo is pretty good. They have a wide variety of BBQ items as well as salads, sandwiches, etc. The BBQ is pretty good. I have tried the ribs, brisket and pulled pork. The brisket is a little dry but the pulled pork and ribs are really good. They also make Jerk Chicken, which is my favorite. I realize that jerk is the type of seasoning, but I like to imagine that it was named for me. I have been called many things in my life, my favorites have been jerk and smart alec. I don’t invision a dish named smart alec chicken so in my mind, jerk chicken will have to suffice. I realize that this paragraph may be viewed as cheesy. That was my intention. Voodoo also has some appetizers that may seem typical, but thy have added BBQ for a different twist. My favorites are the BBQ nachos and the potato skins with pulled pork. Their potato salad and macaroni and cheese are good choices for side items. Voodoo does a pretty good job with take out orders as well. Call ahead and go straight to the cashier. Enjoy.
