Great place for both lunch and dinner. Love their dal makhani and garlic naans. We tried gulab jamuns too, perfect amount of sweetness, very soft and delicious. Service can sometimes be slow but they have great Indian food right in the middle of Bedford downtown.

This place is awesome. My husband and I were regulars of India Palace, but once we tried Taj, we decided that it’s our new go-to place for Indian food. It’s always very clean, the staff are always friendly, the food is flavorful and hot and the ingredients are fresh. I’m in LOVE with the food at this place. So far, I’ve had the pleasure of having the chicken pakora, garlic naan, chicken tikka, shrimp biryani, lamb vindaloo, makhani chicken, chicken madras and the chicken mango. I order my food hot(for spicyness) and it comes out PERFECT every time. Also — they bring these three chutneys over to the table with appetizers(or if you ask, like I always do). They’re no charge and consist of one red pepper/onion relish that is VERY hot, a tamarind sauce and a mint chutney. They’re all amazing and I use them on everything. We had a couple of friends who wanted to try Indian food for the first time, but were a little overwhelmed by the menu, so they asked us to go with them. We ordered 4 different dishes(plus garlic naan, which is a MUST) and just shared them all. They’re total converts and have been back numerous times. In fact, we’re headed there for a double-date on Valentine’s Day. :) The prices are reasonable, it’s clean and the food is awesome — what more could you want?

I’d recommend you give Taj India a try if you’re a lover-o-spice. We ordered take-out and had some fish curry with an authentic India appetizer sampler. The curry was hot(our noses were running) and was enough food to split. It’s very dense food so be prepared to feel like you ate a rock. The service, location, and staff are all good here. CAUTION: If it’s a first date pick I’d suggest you reconsider because the curry is perfect«fart food.» You’ll be holding back more bombs than North Korea!

I love this place. Their veggie samosa are the best I’ve had. Whatever the Spice they use is delicious. We’ve ordered take out each time and sampled chicken tiki, lamb curry, mushroom mutter, and of course nan! All well prepared. Won’t find better in Manchester.

One taste of the vindaloo and you are home. Despite being closed daily from 230 – 530 there isn’t much they can do wrong here Aloo mutter was outstanding, one of the better I have had. Like their chana masala, wasn’t overly sour or citrus.

Attendant(Ahmed) was very nice with a smile. We ordered aalooo paratha and malai kofta with chai. Aloo paratha was good and tasty. Malai kofta was soft and tender. Food tasted fresh. Service was crisp. Got our order within 10 mins of order. Will definitely come if in Merrimack. Nice décor and in the heart of the downtown.

Tried their buffet last week. I was glad to know that they have buffet at noon M-Su, and at a very reasonable price. I always thought lunch buffet was M-F thing. For the buffet, they have several dishes on chicken and vegetables, with rice pudding and naan. I tried all the dishes and they were all very tasteful. Love it. Service is good too. My water was filled very promptly. The only thing I was not very comfortable with was that it’s kinda of hard to fit the delicious rice pudding into the plate provided. The plates beside the rice pudding were kinda shallow and thus on my way back to my seats the pudding almost got to my hands. There were cups beside the pudding too, but the spoon was larger than the top of the cup, so I had no idea how to fit pudding into the cup. Everything else was perfect. Definitely will come back with friends.
