Visited this restaurant on a whim(based on reviews). I was very impressed! We ended up with Rodrigo(chef’s son) as our server. He explained the menu to us and offered us some suggested dishes. Started with the mussels in a chipotle wine cream sauce which was fabulous! My dinner(at Rodrigo’s suggestion) was Chiles en Nogada; two ground pork stuffed poblano peppers covered with a walnut and cinnamon cream sauce served with their house rice and refried black beans. The Mrs. got the Steak Gaonera; grilled steak topped with chihuahua cheese and guacamole. For dessert we got the flan which was one of the best that we ever had! We will definitely return!

Good mexican restaurant in the center of Manchester. My husband & I enjoyed our dinner here last week. We got a couple of appetizers for our dinner and quite enjoyed them. They start you w/chips and a VERY good salsa, it was clearly a very freshly made salsa with chunks of onions and tomatoes, absolutely superb. We sat at the bar, as we were watching a game, so we chatted w/the bartender and he was very friendly and chatty.

I lived in Mexico since I was in elementary school and just moved to Boston area. We came here to try the food and I can say it is very authentic Mexican food. I loved the enchiladas and my wife liked very much the pozole soup. After a long time out of Mexico, this restaurant really made me feel like in Mexico. I’m looking forward to try other dishes. I’ve seen them and looked very good.

We stopped in a Friday night as a couple. It was busy, but we were able to get a table pretty quickly. We were presented chips and salsa, which were nice — salsa was chunky and had a bite to it, which was a nice surprise(usually salsa is bland) We were also quite impressed with their huge menu of margaritas, tequilas, cocktails, sangrias. We enjoyed a few different types of margaritas while we were there, at the suggestion of the server, enjoying them all — and we’re decent margarita snobs Our server, Will, was great. He was on top of things, funny, gave good opinions, and great service. I got the chicken/steak fajitas, which were big, tasty, good quality food, flavorful, and I was really happy with them. My girlfriend got the ceviche, which was big, nicely flavored, and she quite liked. I got a side cactus salad, which was quite nice — good mix of ingredients and tasted great. We listened to our server and tried the strawberry chimichanga dessert on special — delicious. Crispy, flavorful, as authentic as it gets!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon with some friends. We were ravenous after being on the beach for a few hours so we paid a visit to the Casa. The server was awkward and non existent through the duration of our dining experience. We had to hail another server to refill our waters and grab us condiments. I ordered the chorizo and steak and cheese tacos. The dish was bland but did the job of filling me up. The guacamole we shared tasted nothing special and the chips that accompanied were taken straight from the bag and tossed onto the plate. I would not recommend.

This was one of the best Mexican places I’ve been to in a long time — maybe ever! The ambience was pretty nice. Colorful, a little cheesy, but not overly so. Not a ton of indoor seating, which made it feel cozy. The one thing I would complain about is that the outdoor seating area was messy. They weren’t using it yet because it was still too chilly when we went, but since it’s the first thing you see when you pull up to the restaurant, it’s a little bit of a turn-off. Inside, they did have a video playing on a flat-screen TV with Mexican music and some beautiful scenes of a woman hanging out w/a tiger in different natural settings. Sounds odd but it was actually kind of beautiful and really added to the authenticity. The service was friendly and attentive without ever being annoying. We were the first people there when they opened for dinner. There were only two of us but they let us sit at a booth-style table, which I appreciated. My girlfriend ordered the house sangria and I the house margarita. Both delicious, perfectly strong w/o bowling me over, and at only $ 8 each, the portions were large. Got to love that! The complimentary salsa is chunky and really fresh. Strong garlic flavor and maybe a bit too salty but overall, DELICIOUS. We started with the guacamole and it was equally creamy and chunky, which I love, and fresh. Not the best guac I’ve ever had but pretty good. For dinner, my girlfriend had the chicken enchiladas with red sauce and really liked them. I had the shrimp quesadilla and was able to add mushrooms, onions, and spinach, which was awesome. It was absolutely the best quesadilla I’ve ever had. The shrimp was meaty and fresh, not chewy or too seafood-y, if you know what I mean. It came with refried black beans, lettuce, a generous portion of sour cream, and more guac. Neither of us could finish our meals. I love paying once and eating twice! I think the prices are right on par with the quality and authenticity of the food and atmosphere. Certainly not the cheapest Mexican food I’ve ever paid for and I’m honestly glad for that. The price reflects the quality, I promise you. Parking was easy to find, which was excellent as I’m currently in an air cast and need handicapped parking. It’s located in a small shopping plaza FYI. All in all, this was my first time in Manchester but I would drive all the way there from where I live in Boston to eat here again — it’s that good!

Really remained me of my grandmothers kitchen. We are from Mexico and it’s really hard to find a place to eat where you feel you are in your Owen house. I had the enchiladas de la casa with an incredible sauce, the rice is made with an exquisite poblano sauce(this was very common way of eating rice in Mexico) just details that made my visit share an come back anytime. Service was friendly and helpful.

Excellent house made pico de gallo and chips! I had chayote for the first time after leaving Guatemala many years ago. Thank you! Good service as well. This was our first here, but it won’t be our last.

Stopped in here on a Tuesday night after meeting my wife at the train. We are always on the lookout for good Mexican food which can be a real rarity in Massachusetts and after reading the reviews, we decided to check it out. First thing, and maybe the most important — good margs, made with homemade sour mix, and Don Julio — very good. Second, we found ourselves there on Taco Tuesday which lets you try a few different things for a few bucks each. So we went for it and it was a great way to try a variety of things and of course, a good way for the restaurant to get folks in on an otherwise slow Tuesday night. All were great though the winners were the Carnitas, Chicken Mole and Cochinita. If a place can do a good Mole sauce, that is saying something. This was clearly homemade and an excellent blend of spicy and sweet. a good way to gauge the quality of a Mexican restaurant, IMHO. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent. Mia was prompt, informative and friendly and she was right on it. The décor is very casual, nothing fancy and that’s fine — after a hard day at work, this is a good place to meet up, have a nice meal, a marg or two and not break the bank in doing so. We will be back to explore the menu further.

Sweet Baby Jesus… I very rarely gush much but I do love this place. It does help to be a regular within walking distance and the staff and Luis and Izzy always stop by to say hello. Always something different to try… there’s a Dirty Luis martini that is packed with Jalepeno zing… love the chimichanga… some sort of Mexican Lasagna that I can never remember the name of(Plaza Azteco???)… and if Luis recommends something, get it… had the Double thick Pork Chop with Chorizo stuffing… yum… and I don’t(or didn’t think I did) like chops. Always some kind of Mousse thing with an exotic fruit going on for dessert. Best Patio in town… okay, we only have 2 but still. Stop in when you are walking back from Singing Beach(yes, walking… stop complaining about the parking, ya lazy slugs.)

Not good, let’s count the ways: The request was for medium cooked«Carne Asada». We got burnt, well done. The rice taste like a stored bought boxed rice. The quacamole looked brown and it tasted like it went bad. My sons hot dog was so burned that he couldn’t eat it, we had to cut the burned areas off. Outdoor deck was nice, waiter was also very nice.

Stopped into The Casa last night for drinks and dinner with a friend of mine. Lots of great margaritas on the menu! The bartender was very nice and efficient as well.(The bar was quite busy) We split the 5 Alarm Haberno wings. Definately not for the faint of heart! Wow! For dinner I had the chicken enchiladas with the mole sauce. Super tasty! I’d never had mole sauce before and I was pleasantly surprised. It was sweet and also had a nice level of heat. This is a nice little bar/restaurant option for the Manchester crowd. I’ll be back soon!

Very awesome location, staff and clientele. The food was good. We liked their chips and salsa, then I had the chilis, while he ate the chicken quesadilla. Both dishes were very good. The quesadilla here is super bland, but the chicken is tender and delicious, the cheese perfectly melted, and NOT greasy like most chains. It’s good, despite being bland. Add in the salsa from the appetizer and it’s better. My margarita with a kick was only so-so. But we will be back for the World Cup and I’ll try a different margarita for comparison. Great people. Nice atmosphere.

I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. There’s no pretension around the offering, it’s just great authentic Mexican fare. I highly recommend trying some of the Traditional Dishes, which is where the menu really shines. The Chiles en Nogada and Budin Indo are phenomenal and will make you happy that you didn’t play it safe and get the tough-to-elevate quesadilla that is so easy to fall back on. The enchiladas mole are also fantastic. The owner, Luis, is a great guy. Always cordial and making the rounds with his guests to ensure they are enjoying the food. Many of the dishes also carry-out quite well, so if you live locally and just want to pick something up to bring home to the family, I’ve found this to be the best of our limited local options.

I’ve been at Casa de Luis three times and food and service have always been very good I always like what I’ve had and last week I ordered take out for 20 pple. And food was amazing!!! Every single person asked where was food from, they loved it! I highly recommend you to try budin azteca, chiles rellenos are excellent if you like spicy(and shouldn’t be crispy like someone said before). The vegetarian dish(cant remember name) was really good and The flan really yummy as well … I hope they add tres leches cake soon!

Deciding to escape the crazy atmosphere of the Restaurants in Gloucester due to St. Peters Fiesta, my girlfriend and I took the short drive over to Manchester to have dinner here(since I have spoken highly of Luis’s since my last visit). To our surprise we found a full restaurant(on a Thursday no less!) and every single person seemed to be enjoying the food. Deciding not to wait for a table, we sat at the bar and were waited on promptly. In almost perfect timing were received our appetizer, followed by our meals. The portions were just right, not overflowing, but enough to fill us both. The bartender who was waiting on us was very professional and made sure throughout our dining that we had everything we wanted, without being obtrusive and interrupting us. Our best surprise was the check… appetizer, 2 dinners and drinks came to less than $ 50, a bargain for such quality food and exceptional service! We’ll be back, and we’ll be bringing our friends!
