Excellent hole in the wall seafood restaurant! It’s a small place so I recommend going earlier or eating later to avoid a wait. When it’s nice out they do offer outdoor seating. I live in Boston and I think the selection at Gregory’s is better than our own popular seafood restaurants like Legal Seafoods. I also like that the main entrees come with a side and a soup or salad. It’s a family run place and the service is very friendly! They do not have a liquor license so BYOB.

Fantastic, fresh meals-best seafood I have had in NJ. Family run with an eye to local foods. people are great-food is even better-Had the combination platter-too much to eat-perfectly cooked-and rolls and coleslaw are great too.

Ewww food was overpriced, small portions, baked pot was brown, veggies were plain, tarter sauce was way to sweet and it ruined my Hubby’s dinner he put it on his whole fish before trying it, lob Mac and cheese was plain and had no taste, oh but the fries were good. And the waitress was nice that’s why I’m giving two stars we should of went to red lobster

While I travel for work I like to try locally owned places, I love seafood so I was excited when I noticed this next to the hotel I was staying at. It’s a small place, yet they have an extensive menu, I ordered the Manhattan Clam Chowder, it was light and flavorful I only ordered a cup which was enough to awaken my test buds. After contemplating on what else I should order I picked clams in garlic and whine sauce I got the appetizer size which was huge, you get your money’s worth, so bring a buddy or a big appetite. The clams where fresh(not soggy) I could taste the garlic and wine and every bite, best part I did not chew on any sand. So if you are in this small town and up for some fresh sea food check them out.

Gregory’s has a wide variety of fish and everything is usually delicious. The steamers/ipswich are hit or miss.

The worst lunch I ever had! Lunch special Grouper $ 15.99 the portion 1st the size of a cell phone. 2nd it wasn’t grouper tough no taste it was gross it was like frozen then microwaved covered in garlic. I said something to waitress and she was very nice. But the owner was horrible got nasty with me telling me there hundreds of types of grouper and I didn’t know what I was talking about. I left my $ and walked out still hungry. The worst do not goooo!

Well I have been holding off on this review, however, the time is here. Wife and I have been here numerous times, and sadly, it is continuing it’s slide into the abyss. The first issue is the decore, if you’re below 60, it’s very depressing. Of course if you like music from the 50’s and 60’s and pictures of the Pope, then you’ll feel right at home. The food used to be great, but now, it is average at best. The prices are totally ridiculous, and there is the already mentioned by another reviewer issue of being charged for soda refills, which is a ridiculous 2.25 cents per. Twice the cost of a 2 liter anywhere else. Even worse, it’s Pepsi products. They raised the price of the mundane fish and chips to 18.00, which you get some sort of fish, and the famous enough Freedom Fries, which are a frozen fry product. The mashed potatoes are boiled, and most definitely NOT mashed. Use credit cards? You best be ready to whip out your ID without regard to how many times you’ve been there. I could go on, but I’m sure the point is made. Do yourself a favor and head to Belmar, or Point Pleasant where you’ll find better quality, better service, and better prices.

A really poor restaurant experience, which is a shame as I’ve always liked the place as a seafood market. Had a simple dinner for two tonight which ended up costing over $ 90 with no drinks and no desserts. The food was was very so-so, the restaurant was hot and humid(little or no A/C), there were flies everywhere and the service was not fitting for such an expensive menu. Overall, I was very disappointed and will not return for dining and will remain a seafood market customer.

«You’ll have to wait a long time«. This said to the Asian group ahead of me. «This country was founded on Judeo-Christian values. If that offends you …» The gist was: go away. There were several tables outside. None offered to the group ahead of me. Me? I was offered a table outside(just me, more than enough room to accommodate those ahead of me. Subtle inequalities later, this is my last visit here.

Food was awesome and service was sweet! My husband got the captains special #1 and I got the fish and chips. They were the best I’ve had! We got a cup of lobster bisque to start off and loved it too!

Food was ok, but be forewarned! Conservative right propaganda abounds on the walls and the whiteboard of the restaurant. If you can tolerate eating while looking at a anti abortion news article and an anti Obama teeshirt on display, as well as a political diatribe scrawled on a white board as you walk in, then Bön appetite! Every one is entitled to their opinion, but shoving it into people’s faces when they are trying to enjoy a meal is not appetizing!

I just don’t care for this place. It’s just ok. I feel it is over priced for what it is… not a nice place to sit and eat either.

My husband ordered the Flounder Francaise and said it was the best he’d ever eaten! We shared a salad with Bleu Cheese dressing that covered the spring mix — it was fresh and full of cheesy chunks. I had ordered the house special fish(haddock) and chips(freedom fries) and it was perfection! Not greasy and the fish was light and flakey! We split a dessert call peanut butter heaven(Something like that) — it was a piece of solid milk chocolate, topped with peanut butter, topped with chocolate mousse that was covered with a chocolate shell and streams of caramel and nuts. OMG! The waitstaff is very friendly. Jennie and Ryan serviced our table and they couldn’t have been nicer or more accommodating. It was a very pleasant experience we will repeat!

I don’t always give all 5, but this crab sandwich is amazing and the staff is so friendly. The owner(or seemed like) even stopped by and talked to me about the crab cake. He was a very nice gentleman and had a great personality. I wish I lived closer to here. Worth every penny, an amazing lunch!

My friends Len & Cheryl took me to dinner to night to «a little, cool, fantastic seafood restaurant that was recommended by a friend… I was already excited because it was a return trip for them, usually a good sign. After a quick stop for a bottle of wine, note the 5 star rating above & the fact that«no adult beverages«would almost certainly guarantee a sub-star rating… not the case here. Our server Cheryl, Gregory’s daughter was great and the food was spectacular. Best of class garlic bread, made with special bread delivered from a NY bakery, yum! Manhattan clam chowder, spice –sweet awesomeness. Then the holy grail: Penne Vodka Scallops… Huge portion, don’t even think of ordering anything else, well except the Australian lobster tail I poached off of Cheryl’s plate was a close second. The desert was an orange sorbet, served in a «wait for it» Orange, nice. Everything was fantastic with tomorrow’s lunch already handled, I’m settling into my food coma. Oh, plus after 20 years of serving up such amazing grub, Gregory himself came out and chatted us up… I still felt the pride & passion for his creations…5 stars all the way

Little HIDDENDIVE @ it’s best in RARE form! Total little could be ‘Oyster gem’ you would pass up in a blink of an eye-and maybe you should-very mixed feelings about this place… Wait staff friendly and u feel luv @ first bite! Too many things could use improvement/WAY TOOMUCH $$ for what u get!! l lol are we in LBI?! Manhattan clam chowder offered as part of meal definitely a bit watery-no FRESH pepper balls or Old Bay available-but BYOB-yes they have wine glasses! Not a great amount of food for $$ but simply GOOD! But dayum anybody can broil or fry great seafoodSalad spring mix great offering-appetizers not the best @ crazy prices for your $$$ …rather than three fried non filled fried cakes offer one good one! Lobster Bisque @ 7.99 probably worst I ever had… want to love this place but my heart and wallet says NO!!!

Hole in the wall with awesome food. I was there by myself on a work trip and the staff made me feel right at home. I got the combo and could barely move after all the food. Soup, side, and seafood. Full disclosure, I’m from Denver, but don’t usually eat such good seafood. Don’t be scared off by the rough looking outside this place is legit.

Stopped by on my way to the Jersey shore with my husband who noticed this little place just off of route 37. I ordered the steamed clams which were delicious the broth was perfectly seasoned and came with two generous pieces of garlic bread for dunking. We also ordered a dozen little neck raw clams they were served chilled and were very fresh and tasty. My husband ordered the scallop and fried shrimp platter both were coated with a perfect combination of flour and cornmeal and were very tasty. My only disappointment were the mini crab cakes because I could not taste any crab. The waitress was friendly and accommodating a very good experience definitely a place I will remember.
