It wasn’t that crowded last Sunday(5⁄15) so we got seated right away. Our waitress was friendly and nice and got us coffee quickly. Then things went kind of downhill. The wait for food was pretty long. When it arrived, one of the orders was wrong and my wife’s over-easy eggs were hard on the inside. Three of us ate while my daughter waited for her omelette to be redone. The manager came over to smooth things over but didn’t offer to make up for it in any way. The redone omelette arrived just as the rest of us finished. When the bill arrived, we were a little surprised to see an extra charge for a substituted item. My daughter wanted mushrooms instead of cheese on her omelette. No dice! $ 1.50 extra. Tip to the manager: if your kitchen gets a meal wrong, maybe don’t charge for that… and if you do, don’t charge extra for a substituted item. I doubt we’ll be back any time soon. There’s too many other good places for breakfast.

Normally I’m thoroughly satisfied with my experience at Blake’s but today was the worse service I’ve ever experienced at any restaurant. If you get Lisa as a server I would advice you to just leave, save yourself the frustration.

Basic but classic menu, ordered Irish eggs Benny at 5 in the afternoon on a whim and was surprised at how good they were, the only down side is that it took awhile to come out even though there were not many people in the place, otherwise the waitress was nice and friendly, it’s close to my work place so I will be going back regularly!

I was disappointed that the window was closed, so we went in and sat down. Many different ice cream menus need to be updated. with«new summer flavors 2011» displayed on the napkin holders. I got the boston blackout. a lot like ben and jerry’s chocolate therapy. I was also a bit surprised to see that my dish of ice cream cost more than my boyfriend’s cone. for the same size serving. Plenty of other places to try, I’ll only go back if i’m nearby.

I had my daughter for the weekend and decided to take Samantha to get ice cream, it was clear, as i asked around, Blakes was where they made their one ice cream!, needless to say the food was great we had a very pleasant waitress(kharmen)who was very attentive and sincere, due to my experience i would consider myself to be a regular …

Great for ice cream. Not so much for the restaurant. — parking is free but limited(and when it’s full, you’re out of luck!) — the single-floor model makes it easy for people with mobility issues to get around(aka my grandma can get to her seat easily) — the menu is broad enough for everyone to find something -… but the food is pretty bland, unless you get the really expensive sausage, real maple syrup, etc. all for an extra charge — and the mushrooms in the omelettes are canned! Ew. — friendly service -… but extreme wait times. It was more than 30 minutes before our party of 6 got our meal today. The waitress apologized, but only when giving us the check(and didn’t give us an update when things in the kitchen apparently went wrong) It’s an easy place to eat, just don’t expect your meal to be especially memorable.

Went to breakfast here on Veterans Day. They were not at all busy and we were seated immediately. The waitress walked by us four times before she stopped at our table –«what would you like?» No good morning, my name is Kharmen. Can I get you coffee? This goes to lack of training. The food we ordered was standard breakfast fare-scrambled eggs, home fries, etc. it was disgusting! The homefries were nothing more than cubed, undercooked grease laden potatoes. The waitress never asked to refill our coffee(though it’s New England coffee which sucks). But she could have at least offered. The service was extremely slow. $ 16.00 for less than mediocre food and service. Another restaurant to cross off my list.

This place had a great selection of diner food that was very good. Plus it was pretty cheap. For what ever reason the best part was the chocolate milk! I would recommend getting that drink with any meal. They make all there ice cream in house so I wonder if they make the chocolate milk similar. It was fantastic. Will definitely be going back there Again.

So far so good. Quiet monday morning, just me and the blue hairs. Good coffee, friendly staff, perfect eggs over easy and YiaYia omelette. Home fries typical deep fried cubes but just right. Good selection of breads. B for 216 with tax. not bad. Interior like an old lunch counter with booth seating, open, clean, pleasant. Bathroom clean and orderly. Must return for more. Put on your basic to go list.

Stopped in to have a nice sit down dinner with the family. The waitstaff there was very loud and vulgar. The guy in charged seemed extremely lax while his employees stood around and yapped about disgusting ideas. I ordered a cheese burger which was over cooked and my friend ordered french toast which was extremely soggy. Service was slow, luckily I was in no hurry, except to get out of there. Over all I would not recommend this establishment or ever return. I think a crummy denny’s would be just as good.

Best ice cream in Manchester and made right on the West Side. Puritan is a close second, but it is second. Some say Goldenrod is better. Little do they know, Blake’s makes Goldenrod ice cream. Silly Goldenrod fans! The food, well you get what you pay for. It is a good value with great service. Go for the ice cream, and pick up a half gallon next time you visit a friend or family, they will love it.

Horrible! My husband got a sausage and cheese omelette with cold non melted cheese inside. When we told the waitress she offered to microwave it. Really, no thanks! Even if that’s what you were going to do you don’t tell a customer that.

Food was very good… But you have to understand what type of restaurant this is. It is like a friendly’s or a Bob Evans. Don’t expect to have Steak or Shrimp. It is simply a family restaurant with above average family style food. BTW, Our waitress was excellent and very attentive.

Everytime I’ve heard the name Blake’s mentioned it was followed up with a statement about how great their ice cream is. I cannot confirm if this is true or not, as after my first experience dining at Blake’s I opted not to stay for dessert. I was craving something on the lighter side so I went ahead and ordered a fruit salad. My fiancé opted for banana blueberry french toast. When the meals finally arived I was surprised to see they took the term salad quite literally. They had given me a giant bowl full of yellowish lettuce with a light sprinkling of fruit around it and one, count’em one grape. My fiancé’s dish did not fare much better. For one, the waitress never returned with the maple syrup, and for two: the bananas were on the rotten side. We decided not to stay for dessert. For all I know, Blake’s may have the world’s greatest ice cream, but after today I will never return to find out.

First Impressions: Really Good Ice Cream, Yummy Chicken Tenders Weight Watchers Rating: All Around Splurge I love ice cream. I love really good ice cream. As far as ice cream goes, Blake’s makes very good ice cream. They have some unusual flavors and it’s made locally. Love it. It’s not super premium ice cream, but it’s good good stuff. Konabar(coconut with swirls of dark chocolate), Nancy’s Fancy Orange Pop(orange sherbert with Moose Tracks fudge) and Moose Tracks are my favorite«signature» flavors. Aside from the great ice cream(be sure to get some friends together to try the 10-scoop bucket), I like their chicken tenders and waffle fries. The chicken tenders are just that – really tender. The coating is crisp and soft at the same time. The boneless white meat pieces have a homey flavor and are anything but greasy. The burgers are good – hand-formed patties. The breakfasts are okay, but nothing to jump up and down about. This is good basic diner-type of food. It’s tasty, not too expensive, and casual. The waitresses are high-school age, so the service isn’t wholly professional or fast. However, I’ve always had a pleasant dining experience there. And did I mention the ice cream?

We stumbled upon Blake’s while searching for a breakfast place on our way through town. At 1130am, I expected lunch might be available, but I was told that lunch was not served until 1pm(which seems kind of crazy, considering most people eat lunch around noon). We decided upon the supreme omelette and a California skillet, no «cheese sauce.» However, it took our waitress far too long to return to our table to take our order. Our water glasses were empty when we ordered and remained empty for the 15 – 20 minutes it took to get our food. When the food was delivered by someone other than the waitress who ran off quickly, the CA skillet was doused in cheese sauce, and thus we had to track down the waitress to get it replaced. She assured us that the skillet would be rush-ordered, made before every other order, and replaced incredibly promptly. We proceeded to share the omelette, which was nothing special and was served with«breakfast potatoes» which were really cubed fries. After another 15 minutes, the new CA skillet was delivered to our table… and it turned out to be entirely lacking in flavor(must have all been in the cheese sauce). We, once again, had to track down the waitress in order to pay our bill. The service was lacking, though the waitress was friendly and apologetic and the food was good enough to stave off hunger, but not good enough to ever bring me back.

Blake’s is very similar to Friendly’s serving breakfast(served all day), lunch, and dinner and Blake’s Ice Cream treats with takeout counter and an ice cream cooler with take home items. The ice cream here is pretty good with many flavors offered. The restaurant food here is very basic including omelettes, pancakes, French toast, waffles, burgers, sandwiches, wraps, pitas, salads, comfort food entrees, and desserts. There are $ 5.99 daily breakfast specials(includes bottomless coffee) offered such as waffles, pancakes, and omelettes. There are also $ 5.99 daily food specials offered such as ham dinner with soup, fish & chips, meatloaf, turkey, liver & onions. Recently, I stopped here for dinner and ordered the Meatloaf Dinner($ 7.99) with mashed potatoes with gravy & cole slaw and a Mini Side Salad($ 1.69), which had iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, red onions, radish, cucumber, and a cup of dressing. The Meatloaf was mushy with gravy and the sides all tasted okay, nothing special. The service here was friendly and quick.
