To start, let me say that dealing with Todd Munsinger was enjoyable. I found him to be honest, up front, helpful, and a real professional. We have a fairly large home in southwest Austin that was built in the early 90’s. After the heavy rains in late October, we discovered leaking in our sun room. I called a local company I use often to check out the problem. We believed it was leaking around our skylights. Instead the repairman said our roof was in really bad shape. Thru a recommendation from our local guy, I had Todd come out and look at the roof and give me a bid. I found his price to be very competitive. It was a lot of money, ours was a big job. We had a lot of prework being done prior to the roof replacement so there was some scheduling needed. Todd worked with the other contractor to make the job virtually seemless. When his crew did get onsite, they really worked. They showed up early, which was fine with us as we are up at dawn anyway, and worked late. A roof replacement is a messy job but they always spent the last hour cleaning up so the place was passable, even cleaning after dark to make sure they were complete. They did the entire job in about 4 days and I have to say, the roof look terrific. I also had the gutters replaced and Todd subcontracted that part of the job and managed that effectively. He was efficient and communicated very well. I never felt like I didn’t know what was going on or what the jobs status was. As large as our project was and with as many moving parts as there were in it, I can’t imagine him having a problem with smaller homes or repair jobs. I totally recommend him and his company for any size residential job.

I had a tree crush my gable from a storm in September, punching holes in my decking and scrubbing hundreds of shingles loose. Living under plastic while shopping, I found Driftwood Builders, as a rational alternative to the hustlers, roof speculators, etc., which I encountered along the way. Hard to dig through all this in an emergency. Driftwood spoke common sense and logic and helped me figure out the best choices. I’m very happy with their service and with Tom Baker, who coached and informed me on the factors about roofing in general, and sent me to look at roofing in-progress jobs in Travis Country in SW Austin. I found their signs all over the place and NICE houses being roofed with GAF materials and looking sharp. Driftwood did the same for me, installed ridge vents to help with the attic ventilation, and put in a sun-tube to light up a dungeon like hallway. They completely rebuilt my patio cover, roofing to match the house and demo’d an old pergola which was too rotten to maintain. Man, I’m so glad of these choices. It’s much cleaner, new, and stronger. Driftwood spoke plain English to me about the cost and insurance factors. I’d have them back again tomorrow if I needed them. I really appreciate how they handled my roof disaster. I have a 30 year warranty and shingles rated for 130 mph winds. Call em.

Driftwood Builders Roofing replaced our roof and walked us through the insurance claims process for hail damage. We had a great experience with Tom Baker at Driftwood Builders who was thorough in explaining everything, always on time to meet with us, and was a nice guy. Driftwood Builders replaced multiple roofs in our neighborhood and I also heard good things from neighbors about their experiences.

Charged me $ 100 for an estimate. I had a roof leak, plus some window leaks. I called three roofers to come take a look and give an estimate. They all did pretty much the same thing. Todd Munsinger, owner of Driftwood Builders was the only guy who charged for his estimate. He said it was to cover his gas and time. You know what? Giving estimates is part of the job. You should not charge $ 100 for an estimate. Up until he charged me the $ 100, he was at the top of my list to be the guy who fixed everything, and to put a new roof on my house. Now I’ll use someone else.
